#2489140 Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Yes thank god we won't have a top 4 defensemen for years to come. The last 3 years teams have all gotten better around the league and we have stayed the same. There's no way ouellette will be an effective top 4 by the time datsyuk's contract is up

Erhoff isn't going to restrict us from signing a #1 defensemen even though there are none available. Think of him as a Quincey replacement which is an upgrade. There's no guarantee we'll be able to sign a better defensemen then Quincey in the summer in which case we'll have to resign him or he walks and our Defense is as bad as it's ever been. Then you waste another year being a fringe playoff team.

I don't think a lot of you know the kind of player Kesler is. It's like adding another Datsyuk/Zetterberg. The guy can put up 30 goals and win a selke. Fast, physical and a great shot. That is one of, if not the best top 6 in the league if we add him

If we landed Kesler and Edler (not saying it's likely to happen) I think we would be contenders

I'd go for Erhoff. Solidifies our top 4 and we can let Quincey walk in the offseason. Much needed offense that doesn't stop dead after the first pairing. Get him for cheap with that huge contract. We have a log jam of prospects ready to make jump to NHL with no room. Just makes too much sense

RH physical, world class Defense, elite top 6 player. Naw I don't want him

Babcock's dream group of centers would probably be Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Kesler. You couldn't ask for 3 better centres to build your team around

I can see Kesler playing in Minnesota

He's put up #1 numbers not long ago. He's playing on a garbage team nobody is going to have good numbers coming from there.

Look at the Bouwmeester situation, would you pass on him now?

I keep hearing/reading that Ehrhoff might go for a 1st and a prospect and a young roster defenseman with upside, or any two of those. So, hey, maybe an Ehrhoff-Stewart package isn't totally out of the question for us.

We could definitely swing that. Defensemen don't just fall from trees. Enough is enough gotta get someone while their available 1st+Smith+Pulkinnen these trades write themselves

Only now they have a legit #1 goalie

Just hoping for major collapses from all the Stanley cup favourites. It will be a Red Wings vs Phoenix final

They're 2nd in the league in goals for, that doesn't sound like goal scoring trouble to me.

I'm just upset. Playoffs are a different animal though. They struggled to score in the playoffs

Wings should go hard for Erhoff

Looked like the typical Franzen snipe play developing there

Just got in, I hear the Todd scored a PP goal for BOS's bunghole. How have the Wings looked overall?

Smothering Defense by the forwards. Defense is doing good. Not getting much high quality scoring chances but definitely outplaying them by a wide margin

These injuries are completely ridiculous. TSN just put it into perspective
