#2617684 Weiss bought out (confirmed)

I can't see why Larkin wouldn't be able to put up Numbers like Sheahan did in his first year as a 3rd line center

Pretty sure Nyquist will get a long term deal
Would be smart to lock him up imo

From this day forward no red wing shall wear #90... That's what you get for trying to get around using #19 or #9
Give me a break... Nyquist has scored more goals in the last two years than Tatar plus is a better all around player. I would be happy if we locked him up long term after he played for peanuts the last two years

The last thing we need is bottom six forwards

#2615952 OT Changes

I would have it 4 on 4 for 5 minutes and 3 on 3 for 2 minutes then call it a draw

Cool. They should just ditch the shootouts altogether. What happens if somebody gets a penalty in OT

#2615461 Will Wings Revisit Signing Phaneuf?

Posted by joesuffP on 20 June 2015 - 11:08 AM

Washington is a much better team now for signing those guys last July. Franson is in the prime of his career and fills all our needs. I would overpay. I do believe Phaneuf is the better overall defensemen though but, trading assets, terrible contract, LH'd and older.

#2607737 Babcock granted permission to talk to other teams

Is it pretty much a given that we promote Blashill if/when Babcock leaves?

It's crazy how many great RH defensemen have changed teams over the last few years that would have helped our defense situation immensely. Niskanen, Boyle, Stralman, Myers, Garrison.......

Based on what?  Nyquist > nobody in April

Him being a better all around player. I don't understand all the flack he's getting I thought he was one of our better players these playoffs. There's more to his game than just points. He's developing as a good playmaker and his defensive game is getting better and better. I think the franchise views him as the more valuable asset as well. Tatar was the most disappointing player these playoffs for me

#2605035 Things you would like to see for 2015-16 Season

Dekeseyer needs to work on his point shot. There's no reason why he can't put pucks on net with his frame and hockey IQ. Not having anybody on the blueline that can get pucks on goal is a massive team weakness

Abby is not a bonafide top 6 player.  A bonafide top 6 player would score more points in the regular season playing with Zetterberg and Nyquist.  And certainly would do more in the playoffs than Abby did.  He works hard and improved greatly, but still doesn't have a lot of talent.

22 goals in a injury shortened season. He makes that line happen

Everyone's just going to ignore the fact that Z looked way more effective as a center than everyone besides Datsyuk. He's also been more productive and the series changed as soon as he was moved from Dats wing to centre

If you stare at the stats then everyone jumps on Nyqvist but he was a hell of a lot better than Tatar. He's always in on the puck and getting zone time. Tatar has no forecheck to his game and kills all offence if he's actually handling the puck and he also saved his worst game for game 7. He still dourest know how to play playoff hockey. Gus was good, sometimes it doesn't translate on the stat sheet, much like most of our forwards
