Wings have played well the last two games. Against the Jets every scoring chance against turned into goals it seemed and against Montreal we played a solid 60 minutes with a couple bad breaks, I think the Wings were the better team
IMO a line up with this much depth and key defensive forwards is built for the tight checking playoffs. Then our defense is balanced and Babs could really manage ice time/match ups I think Smith's defensive game is very underrated here. Most his mistakes come in the offensive zone
Ok? Why would their free wheelingness be used as an excuse for why Franson scores, but overlooked when it becomes clear that nobody else on their team scores much? If their freewheeling offense inflates his numbers, why doesn't it inflate anybody else's?
I'm not sure why everybody is trying to hard to make the guy out to be worse than he is. He was a good offensive player with Nashville (a non freewheeling team) and he's a good offensive player with Toronto. AND, not surprisingly, he's getting better with age.
There are probably some reasons not to like his game, but suggesting he's not good offensively isn't one of them.
Hes just not a guy I want to be tied up to for 6-7 years. I'm sure he'll help us out but there are better options. No point in trading for him at the deadline. If he signed here I would be happy but I'd much rather trade for Yandle whose a model of consistency and gives us a lot of options with his great contract
before the last game I would say that would be great. But Weiss-Sheahan-Glen like looked to have great chemistry. but what I know of babs.. nothing would surprise me.
Now I think of it where do you put mule when he comes back......
I just worry about the speed of that line. Weiss and Franzen aren't great forecheckers but the scoring depth should put us over the top... In theory. Having a fast guy on each line that first on the puck has been key for us all year
