#2188928 Changes in the offseason

I also have a feeling that Holland's going to swing a trade.

#2185179 Scoring isn't really the Issue

On the flip side, more offense = better puck possession = less time in your own zone.

Pro hockey player Brad Stuart and his wife, Melissa, have sold their Manhattan Beach home for $2.1 million, the Multiple Listing Service shows.

Yep. Obviously he's going back to LA.

#2178908 Will Dan Markov have influence on Andre?

I'm not even going to address the post that says Markov is more talented offensively than Lidstrom.

As for the OP's question, Andrei and Danny Markov aren't related.

If Lidstrom re-signs: Re-sign Lidstrom, Ericsson, Eaves and Miller, promote Emmerton and Mursak, sign Pitkanen and Ehrhoff to replace Salei. Trade Stuart for a physical top-six forward.

I'm not usually the type to post something like this, but that defense is soft as hell. You don't need seven puck movers, especially with Smith waiting in the wings. You need some muscle on the blue line. I don't know why you're so open to dumping Stuart; he's been a rock defensively.

As I said before, plus/minus is a worthless statistic. It can be affected positively or negatively without a player having any effect on the play.

Datsyuk wins the faceoff, passes to Zetterberg, Z shoots and scores. Homer, Lidstrom, and Stuart all get pluses also. Most of the opposing team's players wouldn't have had any chance to affect the play, yet they get a minus.

Tell me Crymson, what makes it such a wonderful stat when there's no way of telling how much effect a player actually has on it?

Is there a way of telling how much effect a player actually has on a goal or assist?

Lidstrom shoots the puck. It dings off three guys in front of the net including Holmstrom's ass. It's Holmstrom's goal.

Cleary passes Datsyuk the puck as he's getting off the ice. Datsyuk passes the puck to Zetterberg for an easy tap in. Cleary gets an assist.

#2011667 RUMOR: Wings sign Modano

Retired salaries do not count against the cap.

They do if the player is over 35 at the time the deal is signed.

#1950308 How will this series end predictions

Posted by Rice on 19 April 2010 - 12:24 AM

Hopefully I'm wrong, but the Wings just look out of gas to me. Lots of hockey over the past few years. I think they're a better team than Phoenix but they just don't have the drive necessary this year.

Coyotes in 7.

#1934577 Any Word on Hossa's injury?

Posted by Rice on 08 April 2010 - 12:33 AM

Man would it not be classic for the Wings to eliminate Chicago and Hossa? Hossa deserves to get the wrong end of the stick. He is the reason we didn't win the cup last year. One goal was the difference, in just one of those last two games, and he failed. Hossa, you suck.

Right. It was no one else's fault that the team scored two goals in the last two games.

Should work.

Work ethic and high talent level. Specifically, finding highly skilled players in lower rounds thanks to other teams passing on them due to their size.
