I don't know how else to say it, but the NHL needs to cut the s*** and just hand out the damn awards.
The NHL is not thinking of its audience when it plans these awards shows. Don't have celebraties give out the awards, have current and former players give out the awards. Am I the only one thinking that Ted Lindsay should be the one handing out the Ted LIndsay Award? And stop with the lame ass jokes. This isn't the Oscars or the Golden Globes. The audience for the NHL Awards is narrower and more concerned with the actual awards than being "entertained."
The show could easily be an hour long and provide a better product than what currently exists.
I am not a fan of Doan and I am happy the Kings won but Doan wasn't be classless. His teammate just got injured right before they lost the game and it was a questionable hit. He's pissed and has every reason to be. If that was the Wings I'd hope they'd speak up to whoever did that to their teammate as well.
So you'd want Lidstrom to openly challenge the captain of another team in the handshake line after what turned out to be a legal hit? Sorry, that is classless.

What the f*** has happened to the NHL!
The players have absolutely no respect for one another. This playoffs have made this perfectly clear. I don't remember a more penalty, fight filled playoffs.
