Today on TSN's OTR, the entire show dealt with the lockout; mighty good interviews and a couple of surprises.

Really nice *lol* I think even Daily would be a better commissioner than thiis stupid midget at least he acknowledged some sorts of the partnership but absolutely refused an answer for the Phoenix fiasco. Sure all owners might have raised their hand for a lockout but I am sure not all are happy with it.

Also Teemu Selanne has dedicated a nice blog to the overall so loved midget called "Bettman what gives?"

Zetterberg or Kronwall Helm isn't ready yet for this duty.

I think Bettman loses his job when this is all said and done. Seriously, how can he show his face in public ever again without the threat of seriously getting hurt? There's no way he can present the Cup without being completely pelted with food, beer, and garbage, and fans trying to take swings when he walks out.

Probably the worst thing to happen to the owners was they put this system together back in 2005, and now they're crying poor. Why are the players locked out because the owners don't know how to run their sport? Fans and media support the players this time, the longer this thing goes, the more pressure it puts on Bettman and the owners. If anyone caves, it's the owners.

Clearly the problem is the lack of proper revenue sharing, the Floor is bankrupting teams, and there's to many teams in horrible markets. Fehr and the players know this and they aren't giving and inch, and I don't think they have to. The players don't have to do anything until the owners address these 3 issues.

At this point there can't be any other option. This guy would risk not only getting boo'ed but like you said people throwing stuff at him and trying to get swings, players might not even want to touch the Stanley Cup because of the midget. These greedy owners can love him my ass this time it is different and there is pressure:

- struggling franchises won't survive an extended lockout meaning *his* expansion teams are going to relocate or fold
- players *do* have options *caugh* KHL *caugh*
- fans and media are siding heavily with the players

The owners might have the big pockets but NHLPA has the power in this case.

Surprisingly I am sure the NHL will shutdown all contact options soon but whatever, I am going to enjoy other leagues if those greedy bastards someday decide to provide a fair offer for both sides we will know anyway thanks to tsn.

Sadly things like MLB or NFL aren't options for me becaus I think both sports are extremely boring, tried to watch a Baseballgame yesterday using StreamTorrent but seriously after over 2,5 hours I just had to turn it off it was like waiting forever for something to happen *lol*

Blocked nhl.com and all of its affiliates with my firewall, sick of reading the PR crap and not giving those greedy owners any hits as long as the midget will be hired instead of fired.

His success or failure is measured by revenue the league generates. This is a most important countable measure of "public confidence in the League". And you are absolutely right, the league revenue has increased by 50% in 7 years.

However, increased revenue does not necceserally means increase in profit. And running a business, a professional hockey club, aims generating a profit. And I supposed you know that half of the league's teams are loosing money...

His success are failed expansions, failed CBA negotiations in 3 of 3 tries wow what a great track record.

I don't even need to think who I am siding with, it is so easy a monkey could make that decision. The players are the ones I am cheering for, the players are giving their heart & soul every minute for our Entertainment they want a fair deal, the midget and those greedy billionaires want a screw you deal.

If I am fair the first thing I'd make clear is to can the so called commissioner otherwhise there won't any negotiations for the time being.

Record revenues since 7 freaking years and yet here we go with a lockout again and the same bs in 7 years again, rince repat owners and midget can go jump of a bridge couldn't care less greedy a....h...s

All hail the hardworking, great hockeymind, always fair and never at fault midget and his stupid wellfare teams. Blame als has to go to all the greedy bastard owners who just can't found a way to screw all the momentum the NHL had. Superb job really worth wasting 8.000.000 for midgetlike hat-trick.

Record revenues, recod attendances and growth over the last 7 years hey lets lockout the player again, so we can keep all these failed franchises and piss poor playing owners alive right?

Screw you NHL; I am happily watching the SEL, AHL and NLA hope the players wait this out as long as it takes otherwhise the damn midget will lock them out everytime they aren't accepting such insulting proposals.

God I still can't believe it, stubborn owners keeping this damn commissioner employed. Sure Ecclestone and Blatter are worse than the mafia but midget is easily top 5 in terms of worst sports commissioners ever. May he be attacked by a furious octopus.

That just doesn't make sense to me

Sam here I mean what is the point of paying 200 m but not receiving anything? I think there must be some 'out-clauses' or stuff like that otherwhise it would be completely bogus.

I think it just did.

Laughing out loud I think so too.

Wonder why NBC hasn't put some pressure into getting a FAIR deal done? They've paid the NHL millions of $ and yet they aren't getting anything out of it t his season.

Not getting it.

Let me know if there's still freezing issues and if there's any major improvements from last year's game?

Still using NHL 11 I see no reason to pay a full price for a barely updated game, just with a new roster. The sprint-feature isn't even new thats something the series has had for long time till they decided to remove it and put it in as new again *lol*

I finally get it.  frankgrimes is Jim Balsille.  One of the 3 people left on earth who use a blackberry, and has a total hate hard on for Bettman and the owners to the exclusion of everything else.  Still mad they wouldn't let you buy the Pens or Predators, or circumvent everything for the Coyotes?

Seriously, we get it.  The owners should be forced to give 99% of the revenue to the players, pay for all other costs out of their own pockets, and let the players pick what nights they play and who their teammates are.  Hell, lets dismantle the front offices, and let the players have a multibillion dollar beer league.  Screw the owners who pay for the buildings, staff, insurance costs, medical, etc.

So trying to start a flame-war resulting in maybe warning-points is all you "pro-owner" people can do? Sorry I won't bite ;-)

Well I'd rather use a great quality product instead of the limited, cheap produced, spy-crap and  under bad working-conditions built I crap version X - so thanks but your advise isn't needed here I know a good phone, when I see it some people aren't just marketing-victims too bad ey?

Provide me a reasonable point why I should side with a bunch of billionaires who can't control themselves and a dwarf refusing to call his expansions-teams what they are, a big failure!

- record revenues for the last 7 years
- owners giving out these massive-contracts players are just signing them
- if teams are losing money (show the real numbers first) on top of revenue sharing - recocate them problem solved
- if teams are giving out contracts they can't afford - tough luck think about it twice next time

Ah yeah poor old Nashville getting bullied by a team offering Shea what he is worth on an open market instead of lowballing him?! Poile had around 2,5 years to get a fair deal for both sides done he didn't, Holmer said "screw this we are forcing your hand now and Weber accepted.

Yes, I do have a a hard hatred for Bettman so what? The guy is soon responsible for 3 lockouts, created team in absolute undeserving markets, takes fans for granted and would love a little dwarf world where all teams are having a salary like his BFF club and of course no NHLPA or any player rights at all. So forgive me for hating that stupid midget making 8.000.000 a year, NOT.

Like Fehr said what is there for the players in the NHL offer?

24 % Salary Reduction, 10 years till UFA, no arbitration rights, 5 years ELC - thats even worse than last time

Something the pro-owner side should at some point get into their heads:

IF the NHLPA would have proposed the same stubborn crap, we would have:

70/30 split, 5 years till UFA, 2 years ELC, removing of the minimum age for NMC NTC clauses and on top of it no cap world...but they didn't they were willing to move the process forward the owners not so much just like Sid and Fehr pointed out.

So unless you are coming back to me with some reasonable non insulting arguements don't even bother responding, because I won't take part in a flame-war with a heavily pro-owners guy.

Well the players have no need to why should they? Despite they were willing to give up a huge junk of the cake.

Bettman wants an enormous piece so he can continue to babysit his failed expansion teams with money instead of giving (back) to better markets such as Hamilton, QC or Seattle.

Owners are just nutts! The ones who cried foul are also the owners with the high profile UFA signings but yeah let's blame the players for accepting *our* huge offer? Idiots!

The players simply can't cave this time because I am sure they are seeing a turning wheel here.

This is the only freaking pro sports league where you can get 3 lockouts and be rewarded with a 8.000.000 $ paycheque annualy, disgraceful.

To me it sounds like that player plays hockey for the money and not for the love of the game. It's a shame!

They should allow an audience at that meeting and to be aired live, so everyone can yell "booooooo" once an owner votes for a lockout.

I think this player is as fed up with the BS dwarfish commissioner as everyone else and maybe just maybe he has to pay some bills, family and you know like to be able to pay them? Guys like us are playing hockey for fun, enjoyment these  guys are professional athletes hockey is their job.

Thinking the fact that some players are going hardball is a good sign, last timel they gave too much they won't do so again and even the dumbest owner should know a league without all the stars will never be the same.

Can this ****** dwarf 3 lockout in a row - yes I said it - is unacceptable can his ass once and for all.

The league is healthy as its ever been this should have been the easiest CBA negotiations ever!
