#2481412 NHL may rethink Sochi

Posted by frankgrimes on 05 February 2014 - 11:54 AM

The bed complaints are ridiculous. Are they supposed to build five star hotels for temporary guests? It makes sense for the athletes to live in dorms. No biggie. Western world problems.

Are they supposed to ? No, but seriously the pictures, water quality and below average standard and we are talking about the best players in the world here they aren't used to that kind of stuff. If a city can't even offer good quality on top of spending 50 million $ they shouldn't get the games period.

The only thing players should have to worry is the competition and nothing else but in Sochi they have a lot of stuff to worry about: attacks, supbar quality of life, safety and water which isn't even drinkable...thats bad standards no matter how you look at it, pathetic.

I read something on bleacher report where you can't flush toilet paper, theres no heat, the waters not suitable for your face and is yellow If its working at all, and they're killing hundreds of wild dogs.
Ha.
It seems like a third world country.

The ioc should be ashamed and held responsible for that disaster.

Instead of talking about the prejoy, we have to read things from Muslims planning attacks, dogs getting killed, people there losing homes and of course bad quality of life.

Worst Olympic decision ever made be proud you ioc f***ers

Huge win so happy for the monster. Sweden is set in goal now with Lundquist and Monster playing great.

Hamhuis would look nice in Red and White but the price maybe to steep :(

#2480655 What's wrong with Pasha? (Mod warning post #57)

I just want him to get well soon and even if he is holding back in order to  be ready for the olympics so what?

The guy has given fans and especially this organization so much joy, he now has a once in a lifetime opportunity = captain your national hockeyteam in the olympics in your fatherland !

All I know is, I will enjoy watching him showing off his magic on the big ice. All the best Pasha

Broken Record Statement: Without another top line defensemen ( I really believe we need 2 so we can bench Quincey and Kindl) we have no chance.

We've known that since Lidströms retirement, also losing Rafalski seems to hurt more than we thought :(

Put in Monster. Keep abby off the top line, and wake up!!!

Babcock could put in Kingquist back there and the outcome wouldn't that much different, the defense is a huge mess. That's what happens when you can't even ice two good pairings :(

A win could create some sort of distance between the two teams, I expect a very desperate Caps club tonight.

One of my favourite goaltenders of alltime for a number of reasons. His stanley cup performance against the Canucks was out of this world, the guy literally shut down the best offense in the league (at that time), which for sure isn ot easy to do.

Another cool thing is, his style can't be copied it's unique at so many levels and yet hard to beat, reminds me a bit of Hasek.

Absolutely they do. It shows that you're pissed off that the guys you're playing are kicking your ass all over the rink and on the score board. The Wings lose like a bunch of wimps, they take it lying down. It doesn't hurt anything to show some goddamn moxie and be pissed off that you're losing an important game to a conference rival that is going to take an important 2 points from you. And I'm sure someone will say "Well they should be focused on scoring goals... not starting scrums/fights" Well, clearly they aren't doing a good job at the whole scoring goals thing, so do something! Don't roll over and die like they do.   ....except that the only guys they should really be upset with are the ones wearing the same color jersey.    Scrum/fight because of some dirty play or something happens?  Sure, stand up for your team mate.  Respectable.   Scrum/fight because you're getting beat because the other team is better at playing hockey than you are?  No.  That makes you the kid that throws the chess board because he can't figure out how to win.  Not Respectable.   You call tonight 'losing like wimps'.... and then you suggest losing like whining children.

Dirty play ? Abdelkader gets absolutely grid at not one guy on that ***** built team took an examption or went after the guy. The only one who opened his mouth was Tatar, once of our young guns . Back in the good ol days Downie would have had something to say about stuff like that. This is team is the most boring team in the whole league when they are getting blown out, no emotion no fire..like I said crosscheck, hit, fight and just create energy for the next game but no, nothing. The score is bad but I am more pissed off that this team does not stick up for eachother, to put it simple they are not a bunch ready to go to war for each other.

shutout by Chrisf****** Mason of all goalies also I am sick of all the Monster bashers Howard played like absolute crap for 80 percent of the season if you think he would have done a better job in front of this defense, you are in for a big surprise once another REAL contender is going to destroy this team no matter who the goalie ist.

The Wings have no passion what so ever, no drive to the net, no scrums after the whistle, no cycle game down low. Just going thru the motions.

Yes because scrums after the whistle qualify as having passion....

It is called showing heart, something this team needs. Start to crosscheck, fight, hit the game is over just some damn emotion

This team wins against the Kings although the goal should have never counted, beats the Blackhawks and then blows a 4:2 lead against the Panthers and follows that with a 0:4 against a struggling Flyers team. Thanks god the east is so *easy*
