#2501741 Weiss - who would take him next season and does he have a full NTC

Hmmmm, never really gave the thought of Weiss playing wing...that could work out wonderfully.  BOTH Jurco and Glendening have exemptions remaining to cover next season, so much like Nyke this season, they can start the year in GR without the chance of losing them, thus opening up two roster spots up front...lets look at this:

I hate Franzen anyway, and I especially hate him on the top line.  Nyke should be there and that is where I am starting him.

Nyke - Dats - Z

Weiss - Leggy - Alfie

Fish - Tinky - Abby

Franzine - Barbie - Miller

(Andy - Ferraro - Dirty Harry)

Kronner - Big E

Smitty - UFA (Morris)

Diesel - UFA (Mitchell)

Laser

Ugh (Howard)

Vokoun

That's 24 players with Glenny and Jurx stating GR.  Trading Kindl (no so) Fire and Almost Almqvist for a couple of picks.  If you feel the pinch of a lower cap, then Andy can be packaged as well, or maybe sign bit cheaper D-man instead of one of Mitchell or Morris. Unless you'd want to roll the dice on Marchenko and only sign Morris.

I know this is a Weiss thread, and I really didn't mean to respond with a roster of possible next season ufa's, but the idea of Weiss playing wing lead me to where I may be able to put others...sorry.

Those are the worst, most forced nicknames I've ever seen. Seriously....please just type their names out.

#2496143 If Kronwall isn't a #1

Posted by haroldsnepsts on 17 March 2014 - 09:24 AM

Another game and another -2 for Kronwall. He was on the ice for our goal, so defensively he was -3 last night. Which is the point. He is average to below average as a defender. No it is not all on him, but we also have to be realistic. He is best served as a 2nd pair Dman. Of course that means we need a new top pair....

He wasn't a -3 defensively last night.  The Wings goal was on the PP, so Kronwall doesn't get a +1 for that.

Furthermore if you had actually watched the game you'd know that Kronwall wasn't a factor in any of the goals against.  The first one he was on the ice for, Abby got confused out at the point and covered the wrong guy, leaving Keith wide open.  Then Kronner's second -1 was a result of Mule screwing up at the point on the PP, leading to a shorthanded goal.

There may be an argument for Kronwall not being a number one D man, but plus minus isn't it.  Especially when you're incorrect about how it works.
