#2452165 Lines Thread

Posted by DeGraa55 on 08 November 2013 - 03:22 PM

Guess it was just for practice (kind of expected)..
"@AnsarKhanMLive: Babcock said he needs a second line center for tomorrow. No way will Helm play there he said."
Babs may have no choice but to split up pav and z.. Also, xo & glendog recalled from GR

Anderson can do it in the short term IMO. He is better than helm anyway.

Tatar Anderson and nyquist I said should be our third.....buy the way things are going maybe that should be our second lol

#2449934 Franzen believes hes playing well.

I agree and would vote in favor of a change to the LGW masthead picture.  Regardless of whatever kind of career Franzen has for the rest of his playing days.

I feel like it should be Helm even though he hasn't played in a while or Howie.

I've wondered why franzen is on there.....IMO it should the C and two As. And Howie!

I'm still they chose to not buy Sammy out cause they're saving it for this year....franzen.

#2449231 It might be Illich, not Holland

Posted by DeGraa55 on 31 October 2013 - 04:19 AM

This has been a known issue for the tigers for awhile..but I'm not sure if he is as involved with the wings as he used to be.

I also have a hard time believing he wants franzen and Sammy around. But I could see him being attached to like cleary.

#2447567 10/23 GDT: Senators 6 at Red Wings 1

Posted by DeGraa55 on 23 October 2013 - 10:44 PM

I will say Tatar was by far the only one who showed up tn. Carried pucks in, drove to the net, got many shots on goal, forechecked hard, threw his weight around, battled and created many scoring chances. He tried his best to win this game by himself. If he doesnt earn a 2nd line spot or atleast, a full time roster spot then ive lost all faith in Babs n Kenny.

Well that's the issue. If you look good out there the only thing you earn is a spot in the minors or on the bench. Now he will be scratched for five games.

#2443308 is anyone happy right now?

Posted by DeGraa55 on 11 October 2013 - 03:23 AM

Still ain't happy. Where is Tatar and Nyquist!? Why is Smith and Cleary allowed on the ice?

Smith still hasn't even played a full season so benching himmakes no sense especially when he has shown he has the skill...but I agree with the rest.

#2442883 Tootoo Cleared to Play

Posted by DeGraa55 on 09 October 2013 - 06:18 PM

All jokes aside, I really don't like our bottom six. It's like, we finally get an awesome top six (and I guess the jury is still out on that, though I do think it'll ultimately become one of the best in the league. Because I say so), and the bottom "bottoms out." mehhhhhh

Yet the best part is. Nyquist Anderson and Tatar would be the best third in the league. But they're too young. Thank god we have guys like cleary and Sammy instead.

#2442803 Tomas Hertl

Wait. He is 19? I thought they had to be 25 to be in NHL? That must be a red wing only rule.

#2441490 Steve Yzerman wants Game Misconduct penalties for fighting

Posted by DeGraa55 on 04 October 2013 - 05:29 AM

Drew Remenda (color commentator for the Sharks) went on an anti-fighting rant to which the Red Wings were central; he noted that the Wings have been the most successful team from 1995 onward despite having had, by a substantial margin, the lowest number of fights out of any team (expansion teams included) during that period.

Also makes for boring hockey while the game is going on. Low scoring games with lots of passing and no checking or fighting is quite boring. That's why as a wings fan I watched eastern conference games almost as much as the wings.

Jonas. Just because I want Petr to get A LOT OF starts in gr.

#2438450 buffalo and toronto fight

Posted by DeGraa55 on 23 September 2013 - 12:19 AM

Nothing wrong with Kessel chopping away. When you're the leading offensive threat on your team and a guy eight inches taller without an ounce of skill to his name decides to grab you, you take whatever measures are necessary to defend yourself. If it means hacking a guy hard enough to break his ankle, so be it. The spear at the end was a little over the top, though.

The Wings will be seeing John Scott often this season. If Z (for example) finds himself in this situation and has to two-hand the guy hard enough to break a stick, more power to him; he has more sticks, but only one body.

No that's the most ***** ***** ass thing I've ever heard. When a goon goes after you your teams own fighter then gets involved. Its as simple as that. The ***** slashing and hacking crap has to go.

#2438038 will you tank red wings games due to the cleary signing

Posted by DeGraa55 on 20 September 2013 - 10:15 PM

I could care less... I guess maybe cause I'm a true fan I'll go watch the games regardless of what moves management makes...

Ya I agree. I disagree with a lot of the moves because I'm a fan. I want my team to win. But win or lose I'll always be watching/attending games when I can.

#2437119 Devils sign Brunner 2 yrs. $2.5 million AAV

Posted by DeGraa55 on 17 September 2013 - 06:08 AM

I would much rather have Nyquist Tatar and Brunner then cleary Alfie and Sammy...

#2436859 Abdelkader

Posted by DeGraa55 on 16 September 2013 - 01:36 PM

I like it and liked it last year as well. He has actually more speed than a typical power forward which allowshim to keep up with z or DAT which homer couldn't do. His downside is that he isn't as good as homer in front of the net....but imean come on who is.

#2436528 Cleary re-signs with Detroit, 1 year, $1.75m deal

Posted by DeGraa55 on 13 September 2013 - 03:54 PM

After all, the system that Holland and Babcock run has persistently placed the Wings at the bottom of the standings. We should be furious. Say, where are all those lottery picks? We're getting robbed!

While none of us like this signing, the simple fact is that Holland, Babcock, and all of the team's veterans wanted Cleary back on the roster. When that's the case with a player, he's going to be brought back if at all possible.

That's what happens when emotions get involved with business. Just because some people wanted him back doesn't mean it was the right decision.
