What an amazing pass by smith to Alfie for a goal.

I didn't like the Weiss signing when it happened and still don't. But I will say itnis still too early to say it is yet another bad signing by Holland.

#2458477 CBC partners with Rogers in landmark NHL rights deal.

Posted by DeGraa55 on 27 November 2013 - 11:01 AM

If someone would ask me, what his job is I'd rather not answer, being responsible for 3 lockouts, the absolute opposite of what hockey stands for and not giving Canada it's teams back...should get every commissioner fired.  This deal is just another shortterm solution, I read somewhere that around 40 % of Canadians are able to get CBC but 100 % are getting TSN - huge difference given how hockeycrazy this country is.

Giving an evil company lead by an evil man such a monopoly over hockey, is never a good thing. Rogers can now basicallyc harge whatever they want, because they own the whole package. SN just sucks, even if they improve it I highly doubt, it will be anywhere close to the expected professionalism from TSN and that to me is a mistake.

Another funny note, the BOG meeting will be held soon and yet Rogers THEMSELVES is allowed to have a vote in there (because they also own the Leafs)...sometimes I'm wondering why countries are having anti monopoly lawys.

But he is typically more of a figure head than anything.

A lockout is between the owners AND the players. But bettman and fehr get the bad rep cause they represent them.

Bettsman job is to make the owners money and he has done a good job of it. That's why the OWNERS keep him around and pay him so much.

Now whether you agree with everything that's done or not is up to you. I know I certainly don't. But you need to direct your frustrations at the right people.

And I for one font care who has the contracts in Canada as I don't live there. But if he took the deal that was worth the most money he did is job the way he is suppose to. Its not his fault some network wants to slack off and not offer up the $$$.

#2458046 What Does This Team Need More/Most?

Posted by DeGraa55 on 24 November 2013 - 09:58 PM

Just one thing? A big power forward who can score 30-40 goals. And actually finishes checks.

More then one? A pure sniper who will be top 5-10 in the league in shots on goal hopefully leading to lots of goals....

Worst third line ever? Sammy Weiss cleary? Seriously. Cleary and Sammy have pics of Babcock and Holland together or something.

#2457365 11/23 GDT: Game 24 - Senators 4 @ Red Wings 2

I love a good, physical game as well.  I don't like the cheap s***.  There's a difference.

Most isn't dirty. The elbow was and the slash on back of helms leg. And a few others but for the most part just a real physical game.

God I love these kind of games. This is real hockey. Its just a shame the wings can't handle it....and being in the east its only going to continue and get worse.

I'd skate right to Babcock and say "anything youf****** need now?".

But now he will be benched and Sammy will take his spot.

#2455401 Ericsson Contract Extension Near?

Posted by DeGraa55 on 19 November 2013 - 09:30 PM

I agree that Ouellet and Sproul need to be accounted for in 1-2 years time on defence, but Quincey will certainly be gone. And when the boys are ready Lashoff will go back to being a solid #7. As far as E's contract, he's currently at 3.25, if his raise is say 4.2, then that's great for us with the cap going up. He's a solid top 4 guy who can play 20mins, PP/PK, fight and hit when he feels like it too.

O I completely agree he is one of my favorite players because of all that.

The other thing I was thinking is if the long term plan could be

Kronwall e
Smith dekeyser
Sproul oullete

1-2 maybe 3 years down the road...

Either way unlike some people I think were sitting pretty on defense(other than Quincey).

#2452959 Speculation regarding Franzen's ailment

IDC what it is just as long as he is gone this off season.

#2452806 Looking back on a couple of trades that didn't happen.

And you forgot the size factor to. The added size would help as well.

#2452165 Lines Thread

Posted by DeGraa55 on 08 November 2013 - 03:22 PM

Guess it was just for practice (kind of expected)..
"@AnsarKhanMLive: Babcock said he needs a second line center for tomorrow. No way will Helm play there he said."
Babs may have no choice but to split up pav and z.. Also, xo & glendog recalled from GR

Anderson can do it in the short term IMO. He is better than helm anyway.

Tatar Anderson and nyquist I said should be our third.....buy the way things are going maybe that should be our second lol

#2449934 Franzen believes hes playing well.

I agree and would vote in favor of a change to the LGW masthead picture.  Regardless of whatever kind of career Franzen has for the rest of his playing days.

I feel like it should be Helm even though he hasn't played in a while or Howie.

I've wondered why franzen is on there.....IMO it should the C and two As. And Howie!

I'm still they chose to not buy Sammy out cause they're saving it for this year....franzen.
