#2435340 Lines Thread

Posted by DeGraa55 on 06 September 2013 - 10:58 PM

Emmerton goes in if a center is hurt
Bert fills in for first winger hurt

Kronwall Ericsson
Smith dekeyser
Kind Quincey

I think this makes us the most complete we can possibly be. You keep Abby on top line to do his thing. And it gives us three legit scoring lines(still lack of size :().

I like Anderson third and helm 4th A LOT MORE. Anderson will help out more offensively IMO. And with helms back a little less ice time might be good. It also gives you miller And helm all ready together for some PKs as well.

#2434611 Franzen: "I am not a goal scorer"

Posted by DeGraa55 on 01 September 2013 - 03:50 PM

So he isn't a goal scorer? So he confirms my opinion of him being a useless piece of crap and a waste of money and roster space? THANK YOU FRANZINA.

#2433991 Samuelsson: IR to All-Star?

He wastes a roster spot. That alone means he isn't worth his cap hit. He isn't worth the dirt under my shoe.

#2432107 Brunner Contract Talks

Posted by DeGraa55 on 31 July 2013 - 07:47 PM

Welcome to LGW!
Where Fedorov takes nights off, Franzen is lazy and sucks, Howard is "Average", and Brendan Smith should be traded.

Me too. I dont like him at 4, but I like him at 2.5.

But franzen is lazy and sucks at everything in hockey except scoring 25 goals a year.

#2430919 Brunner Contract Talks

Posted by DeGraa55 on 19 July 2013 - 10:50 PM

I think what is offered has a little more to do with icetime than it does dollars and years. From what I've read, the big priority for Brunner is a top-six spot. He wants to be valuable and indispensable to whatever team he lands on. If he can do that, he has confidence that his contributions will eventually earn him the money and security.
I'm not saying he isn't thinking about the money or term in this contract, but the guy wants to be a top-six scorer in the NHL first and foremost (by all accounts). I can't fault the guy for that.

See and if this was the case and he would sign for 3m instead of the rumors I've heard of 4m I'd take him over Alfie. Brunner has the potential to be a long term asset as a goal scorer.

He'll make quite a bit more with the KHL's tax-free contracts.

Plus he is by his family. And you can't put a price on that.

#2429355 Smith files for arbitration

I still think smith will be fine. I think dekeyser as his partner would be better than Quincey.

The Wings are loaded with solid defensive forwards. I can overlook Brunner's deficiency in that area because he provides the Red Wings with something they severely lack in goal-scoring ability.
I still hope Brunner comes back, but the ship seems to have sailed in Detroit.

Unfortunately I agree. We need someone who throws pucks at the net.

#2428933 who's on their way out of Detroit

First, it would not break my heart if Cleary walked.  Second, to those of you who wish to lose Patrick Eaves, I beg to differ...he has a place in the penalty kill with Drew Miller.  Bert is getting long in the tooth, and his back problems just won't disappear - in fact, they will most likely get worse.  Sammy is a safe removal, but who's going to want him after last season's fiasco?

Its not about wanting him gone. Its about well just look.

Z DAT Abby
Franzen Weiss Alfie
Nyquist Anderson Tatar
Eaves emmerton miller

Bench; too too

Injured helm Bert Sammy.

See the problem? What happens if/when helm and Bert are healthy?

This is why I was against the miller signing. The dude is a heck of a guy for us...we just don't have room. Now we all expect a trade or two. This is where "addition by subtraction" would help us a lot.

#2428815 Wings Attempting to Re-sign Cleary

The author of that article is Ryan Lambert, whose hate for the Red Wings runs so deep as to manifest itself in everything he writes about hockey. An example? He once wrote an article criticizing Lidstrom for retiring during the finals.
He's without a doubt the least-liked of the Puck Daddy writers.

Who cares? Do you disagree with his quote?

#2428320 Free Agent Signings

You're going to have to promise yourself to one day watching an NHL game.

In all fairness the guy was on the Florida panthers....I don't wake up and just look forward to watching some panther hockey! Lol

#2428298 Parros signs with Montreal

Posted by DeGraa55 on 06 July 2013 - 11:23 PM

Funny thing is, the Wings won 4 Cups with the 4th line chipping in on goals in a big way, so no you don't rely on them but it's a nice bonus when they do.
Was Boston and Anaheim stupid for dressing Thornton, no, but clearly anyone could've replaced him.
All these guys you so desperately want the Wings to go after all the time are playoff nobodies. I'll admit that I'm not a big fight fan in hockey ... I used to be, back in the days when guys actually hated one another. Now, for the most part, it's just scripted crap and for the most part, pointless. You know going in, who's going to fight who ... what's the point in that? The last Red Wing fight that actually meant something was McCarty pounding Lemieux, for retaliation on the Draper hit the previous year.
Give me fights like that, where guys hate each other. Don't give me Parros-Orr lining up and going before anyone has even started to sweat ... it's gong show nonsense.
Looking back on the last 8 Cup winning teams, the only "goons" who have contributed the their team's SC run was Ben Eager and Thornton.

Let's not forget the best wings team had a grind line which included McCarty. And had several other willing to drop the gloves. Non one is saying you need an pure goon to be good. But guys like a shanahan that score and fight....every good team needs but they're rare.

#2428150 He's got the Moves Like Jagr..because he's Jaromir Jagr.....

Well we might as well give him 3m over 3 years as well.

Well the way were going maybe I'll get to see Gordie howe play after all. Give him a three year deal Kenny. I think he can play in the too six as well.

As a matter of fact my grandpa is retired I think he could use 3m for 3 years as well....get it done Kenny.

#2427936 is anyone happy right now?

Posted by DeGraa55 on 06 July 2013 - 06:43 AM

Helm has been declared healthy and ready to play before. It's when he starts playing that's the problem.Supposedly, Morrow and Iginla's motivation to win the Cup was supposed to put the Pens over the top. I don't know why anyone thinks Alfredsson wanting to win a cup is any different.I guess my whole issue is that for the past few seasons, we keep hearing, oh just wait, Kenny Holland is making these conservative moves to plan for the future so we can sign that big free agent or make that big move. But it never comes. Or it's, just wait till these kids in Grand Rapids get in the lineup. But no, they're not ready until they're 25 and then they have to play a few seasons on the 3rd or 4th line to prove you are NHL worthy.Maybe I'm forgetting, but have the Wings made any kind of significant trade since the Shanahan trade in the 96/97 season?

A 1st for Quincey duh. How can you forget?
