Franzen is a big boy, if he ever "snaps", it'll take his entire line to restrain him. That said I agree he was handed the misconduct just to get him off the ice, if I was the powers that be I would rather let Toots take Neil off the ice.
Actually it is. When you get to the point of predicting losses, it's time to start focusing on the problem. Some people will blame the coach, others will blame the defense/goalie. Fact is all these games we lose are in fact winnable if we work harder and show some emotion.
I wouldn't mind losing as bad if we earned the loss, rather than giving the opposition the win.
Why didn't anyone go after #87 at the 1:57 mark for slew footing Marchand? Oh yeah, because he took his ***** ass off the ice shorty after...
You can see the video in better clarity and a slightly different angle at NHL.com ( http://www.nhl.com/i...id=nhl:topheads ). You can see Crosby trip up Marchand right before the knee to the head by Neal, then like the good captain he is heads to the bench as soon as he gets a hint of an ensuing scrum. You'll find more guts in a piece of roadkill.
This whole ordeal was a mess and I'm glad nobody got seriously injured, but let's give credit where it's due.
I'm listening to the UFO Paranormal Network Radio hoping for some kind of extraterrestrial explanation as to why tonight happened the way it did. Body snatchers, mind control, there's an answer here somewhere.
Somewhere out there, in a far away star system there is a intelligent being that really hates the Red Wings, so he takes the form of Kyle Quincey and secretly laughs to himself inside his head.
