Happy to see Jordin Tootoo got invited to the Devils camp.  Despite never really fitting in here, he played the good soldier and never complained about his plight.  He's a class act all the way and I hope he catches on in New Jersey.

#2536142 Who should get cut/traded by game 1 of the season?

I would love to see Callahan steal Miller's spot. More grit and possibly also better scoring touch.

I don't know that I'd want him to take Miller's spot per se, but I would definitely like him to beat out one of Ferraro, Andersson, Glendening, or Cleary.  That would be ideal.  I just think Miller has more value than those guys, so I'd rather have him on the roster and have the option to use him.

Cleary should never have gotten more than a tryout, but now he's going to play at least 10 games to get his bonus. I'd like to see Kindl moved out for a rookie. Miller is pretty good for a 4th liner so he should stay. Jurco showed enough last year that a roster spot should be his to lose.

Some people are so damn impatient. I think a huge reason why I am patient with the way the Wings do things is because I am huge fan as the entire Red Wings organization. I am just as much a fan of the Griffins as I am the Wings. I watch 82 Wings games plus every playoff game every single year, I've watched about 90% of Griffins games the past few years and every single playoff game, as well as a scattered East Coast and Junior game to follow prospects down there as well.

I don't want to see Mantha or Jurco or Pulkkinen rushed into the league because I'm quite content watching them develop their game down in Grand Rapids. I'd be happier to see three of them down in the AHL getting huge minutes, playing in all situations, possibly finish the season in the top 10 in scoring while helping the Griffins win another Calder Cup, then see any of them on the 3rd line in the NHL, playing 10-15 minutes a night and no special teams...

I do believe some of these guys will be unbelievable in the next few years, and credit to the Wings organization for being patient with them and making sure they're good and ready before they're thrown into the best league in the world.

Be Patient! And Watch Them Develop!

Between Jimmy and Monster (and even Mrazek) we've come a long way from this:

I prefer these. They came with cups.

it makes me laugh how such a big body like Kindl acts like his 5'9 on the ice but again I concure with krsmith I think what you see is what you get with him I too would rather look at kindl and lashoff as are number 7

Kronwall Smith
DD        Ericsson
Marchenko  Q
Kindl

maybe even Sproul if he is better off in the preseason but again you cant predicted how they would be

I agree with u that u can't really predict, but that's also why I'm willing to be open minded about Kindl. Just one PO series ago he was solid for us. I'm not wiling to let last season taint his entire future for us just yet.

I would have loved to have seen Colorado vs. Minnesota at Target Field. Or Dallas vs. St. Louis at Busch Stadium.

Either of those would have been great. But they're not big media markets for Hockey. It's all about the $$$ essentially. And its a joke, recycling the same teams in match ups that frankly, interest no body, watering down the entire thing. At least last years game had some history to rivalry.

They keep recycling the same teams over and over. It's getting old.

Just wait for the first in-game injury. This forum is going to be something.

Finger, wrist injuries are worrysome remember the Crosby situation ? 4 days non stop news about surgery ?

Crosby could stub his toe in the off-season while on vacation in Jamaica and it would be front page news on nhl.com lol

frankgrimes - translation - "Told you so..."

The more I think about it, the more worried I'm getting... I mean, I'm not so sure that Ericsson will be able to skate the same with his middle finger only at 95%... C'mon people, quit reaching...

And there were a lot of people that were completely okay with Alfredsson not being offered another contract this season, but now that he may not be 100% healthy, the sky is falling...
