If you creep his facebook like I did you will notice that everything is Detroit/Michigan. Heck his Idol is nick lidstrom. I really don't see him going anywhere else. 

Totally agree as long as we land DeKeyser. Otherwise I wouldn't want to give up the depth. I think people are still hugely underestimating how much it will cost.

With the recent Pitts deals giving a clearer picture of the market, I would expect them to be asking for:

 

One of + 1st rounder or two of:

Frk/Pulkkinen/Jurco/Sproul/Ouellet (top prospects)

+

One of:

Andersson/Sheahan/Nyquist/Tatar/Jarnkrok/Smith (roster player with upside)

+

One of:

Mrazek/Paterson

 

Again, I believe this would be around what they are asking for, assuming he would sign an extension. (min 2-3yrs)

Gross overpayment? Yup. But it's a sellers market where a guy like Murray can get you two 2nd picks.

If thats what they want, and I am gm, count me out. Frk, Ouellet, sproul, and my first rounder are going nowhere. Tatar smith and maybe nyquist are not being moved, and Mrazek is a definite no

Think of it this way.....

 

You are Danny and you are looking for a team that is going to compete for a Stanley Cup.  Look at Detroit.  They are an older team with a pedigree for making the playoffs and winning 4 Stanley Cups in the last 16 years.  Then you look at Edmonton, and they are a young up and coming team that looks like they will compete for a cup in the next couple years.  Edmonton may have a bigger upswing in his mind than Detroit. 

 

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if he signs with Edmonton over Detroit.  Its not like Edmonton is a toilet team with no upswing.  Now, if Danny chose Florida over Detroit, then I would be more concerned. 

Edmonton will not win a cup, by the time the team matures it will start falling apart to cope with the cap. I expect to see Dekeyser in Red and White by next week 

Calgary is crazy.  You don't get top dollar for rentals.  Especially old ones that are UFA at season's end.  Iginla would be nice here, but only at the right price.

Ever hear of supply and demand? If there were not enough toothpicks in the world you would be paying $5/toothpick. Iginla is the toothpick, enough teams want him, and will compete to get him and Calgary will make out like bandits. I just hope Holland steers clear of that gong show, who knows, maybe he will try to trade to get Huds back  LOL 

You can really tell how much of an impact a player was when he's still being mentioned during game play, mistakenly, 7 years after he's retired.

FSD has decided to save money by not hiring anyone to be between the benches. Instead the Red Wings are just to have Franzine handle it while he floats around out there.  He has a great view by the way! No need for a Color Commentator to replace Mick on the road either...Franzine mic'ed up!

lol it actually sounds like Holland is going to be trading prospects and picks for high level talent, just hopefully not our 2013 first round pick

According to Sir Ansarr Khaannnn Ken Holland will be making some sort of splash at the deadline as long as we are in full stride, winning games and in serious playoff contention.
