#2526539 Dylan Larkin - Highest draft pick since 1991

Posted by Euro_Twins on 28 June 2014 - 10:38 AM

Except that I trusted Holland and the scouts that Ferraro and Emmerton wouldn't be Ferraro and Emmerton!

Not every pick works out. Suck it up. Did you believe in nyquist, Tatar, jurco, sheahan or any other prospect?

#2526502 Kesler traded to Anaheim

I once saw Ken Holland murder a baby duck with his own hands.

All scouting reports about Larkin remind me of another phenom we got in the first round - Cory Emmerton.

Actually no, quite different. There's no need to criticize everything. It's like when you hate a kid in grade 7 and he's eating a sandwich and even that pisses you off. "Look at that ******* eating that sandwich. Who does he think he is the president?"

#2526181 2014 Offseason League Signings and Trades

If a trade for Myers happens today, I would imagine it would be due to a lot of uncertainty after speaking with the Niskanen camp. Myers would be a good alternative, just more of a risk.

It sounded to me like there was uncertainty with Boyle, not niskanen. It seemed pretty clear they want niskanen and will do whatever it takes. Perhaps they want two dmen

#2526020 Kane and Toews both asking for $12M per year

Posted by Euro_Twins on 26 June 2014 - 11:29 PM

Whats the alternative letting them walk and go back to penny pinching? The truth is both will get their money it's either from the Hawks or someone else. Save for Crosby, Stamkos there is not one player I would taker over Toews guy just has the intangibles. Kane on the other hand to me is not worth that much but the market dictates the prices.Like I said both would get maximum terms from their hometown teams so their asking offer is already 2 million underpaid I don't think they are going to go even more down maybe 11 but even that might be pushing it

You think they would get $14 million... That's a bit high, don't Ya think

#2525855 Wings to have face to face with Matt Niskanen

Posted by Euro_Twins on 26 June 2014 - 12:25 PM

KH:  "Hey Ryan, you should sign with us".
RS:  "Why would I do that?  My boyfried's girlfrien is from Minnesota."
KH:  "We're prepared to offer you 13 years/90 M and check it out, our 88 year old owner got he ass on a plane to personallycome see you at you farm".
RS:  "boyfriend!!!!"
KH: "s***. I better overpay for Mattf****** Niskanen now so the fan-boy wack jobs at LGWs think I'm a good GM"

I've said several times I only want him if he is cheap less then $5m. But I wouldn't mind having him on the team.

And the suter thing. Really? Holland did everything possible to get him here, he'll suter even promised him he was coming, not Holland's fault

How bout this instead

Kh: Hey Matt haven't you wondered what playing on an original 6 dynasty would be like?

Mn: actually yes I have. You have a very storied and respected franchise.

Kh: yup and we have a lot of very young and very promising players coming up, you could be a part of something big here.

Mn: sign me up!

That wasn't directed at you.  ET and #9 were piggy-backing off that to complain (oh the irony) about people that complain about Franzen...

I wasn't piggy backing anything. I didn't even quote anyone. I am annoyed by seeing every thread overtaken by people complaining about franzen.

#2525674 2014 NHL Awards Winners and Losers

Posted by Euro_Twins on 25 June 2014 - 10:53 AM

Although you are right and Weber is the better defenseman, they don't give the award to the leagues best defenseman but the leagues best scoring defenseman. If they gave it to the truly best defenseman each year then Lidstrom would have won the award like 20 times.

Well he did win it 7 times which is almost impossible. He was widely regarded as one of the best dmen to ever play the game, has 4 Stanley cup rings, I don't think he cares if he had a couple extra meaningless trophies to put on his shelf, it's probably already collapsing under all that weight anyway

#2525455 Alfie informs Wings he wants to return

Posted by Euro_Twins on 24 June 2014 - 10:44 AM

Holland pushed hard for Kesler last year. So you're attacking him for doing the exact same thing Chicago is doing now. Holland hate is dine but blind rage and hatred all the time is just excessive.Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2

How dare you bring reason and logic to this hate fest...

Everyone was happy we didn't get kesler because everyone agrees the asking price was way too steep.

Most lgw members morning routine.

Wake up, have coffee
Complain about franzen (honourable mention of hossa)
Take a shower
Complain about babs/Holland/being too soft
Complain about franzen
Complain more about franzen
Complain even more about franzen....

This is the song that never ends...

#2525347 Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

Posted by Euro_Twins on 23 June 2014 - 06:01 PM

I'Reilly is one inch taller, and had the opportunity of playing in the nhl since he was 18. Nyquist was given an opportunity and seized it, now he needs to hone in on his skills a bit. If nyquist puts on 15 pounds, they virtually become the same player. I would trade any of our young guys except for jurco and nyquist for o'Reilly

So a couple guys more straight out of grand rapids won't change that... And as you recall z dats Ericsson and franzen were all injured for stretches during the year, which was my point

WHY WOUKD ANYONE SUPPORT THIS??? Seiously if were not going to win a cup, or hell do anything at all to improve a mediocre team why would we want him wasting a spot?

I like the guy and think if we were contenders I'd e ok with signing him. But last year my argument was...why sign him him nyquist can bring what he brings....just younger.

Now why sign him when we can have jurco or pulk up instead. There is so much better options. There is not ONE good reason for Alfie being here.

Leadership, experience, good work ethic. You can't build a team with 22 year olds, look at Edmonton. Alfie was solid last year when healthy. And when our leaders were injured the team didn't do so well. Nyquist was the only player stepping up, now you want to entrust that responsibility to not only the same players who disappeared when times got tough, but a couple extra even younger ones? And you honestly see nothing wrong with that mentality?

Is there a reasoning behind 17 out of 23 games being road games in the months of January and February? Ouch.

Because of reasons
