#2539041 AO #8 Grants Fan's Request for Date

Posted by Euro_Twins on 08 October 2014 - 11:11 AM

My friend who is a capital fan posted this on Facebook. It was amazing for him to do that. Cute girl, man I wish yzerman or fedorov would have taken me on a man date when I was a kid, she will remember that as the best moments of her life for a long time, such a small thing for ovie to do, and yet such a huge thing for that girl. Hope for humanity restored!

#2538964 23 man roster set... say hi to your 2014/15 Wings

Posted by Euro_Twins on 07 October 2014 - 07:52 PM

I think they're are more than a few teams that would add him, but his cap hit is what, 2.4m for the next few years?

He could be one of those guys teams think a change if scenery would help, and he was decent in stretches with the right partner, but who knows.
If Kenny gets something for him I'll be happy, but you got to think Holland will be trying to do something to get xo in here, especially given how hard babs was pulling for him and you don't wanna go into the contract talks with babs with him thinking he has almost no say in the line up.

Maybe babs should also ask for a proven goal scorer, and stipulate he will only re-sign if holland gets him a top pairing dman and a 40 goal scorer, and watch holland squirm MUAHAHAHAH

May the odds be ever in your favor.

#2538682 Datsyuk to play Thursday? Weiss to be a healthy scratch?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 07 October 2014 - 05:19 AM

Lol we should dig up that thread when Weiss was signed. Everyone so happy and giddy except for the negative nancies(realist...or people who were RIGHT).

Seriously? The guy isn't even getting a chance to prove himself. You're basically trying to throw it in peoples faces that you were right about Weiss like it's a good thing to be right about.

#2538497 What did the preseason show us?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 06 October 2014 - 08:28 AM

It showed me much of what I already formed an opinion on....we would be just fine and probably even better without Franzen, Ericsson, Kindl, Quincey, Cleary, Gustavsson, Helm or Andersson.  A trade package of a couple of those players would get us a great RH top 4 defenseman...

It also showed me that the tie goes to the veteran still, despite what Babcock says....hence the reason Cleary is still here and Callahan is on waivers, same goes with Sproul and Marchenko while Kindl and Quincey are still here.  Thank goodness Nesty and X-Man are still up, but when Datsyuk gets back and when Alfie decides he wants to leech some money off of the Wings, the tie will go to the Swede. Goodbye Jurco and Nestrasil...

We need Ericsson. I also forgot that Callahan was the next great one. To be honest Callahan didn't really impress me, so I doubt care that much, but kindl, Quincey and Cleary being gone would be lovely.

Oh yay. Back to the legwand and jarnkrok trade. Oh I really missed kicking that horse

#2538433 10/4 Final Preseason GDT: Detroit Red Wings vs Boston Bruins

Posted by Euro_Twins on 05 October 2014 - 10:16 AM

They said the same thing about Vrbata and Neilsen yet they score at a 50% rate.

Datsyuk has 1 move, he just either goes forehand or backhand. Aside from last year when he was struggling through a knee injury he still scores close to 50%

No really. Think about it. Callahan? Callashan? Shallashan? Shanahan.

I rest my case.

Wait, then that would make dekeyser....

Datysuk, who suffered separated right shoulder 10 days ago, seems to be passing and shooting well. Estimated to be out another 2-3 weeks.

Not too bad, so he will miss maybe the first two weeks, maybe only one week.

#2537950 10/1 Exhibition GDT : Pittsburgh Penguins at Red Wings, 7:30 EST

Posted by Euro_Twins on 01 October 2014 - 07:05 PM

Kindl is just so meh in every possible way, he never stands out in a good way.

2 years ago he really looked like he was finally gonna break out. But nooooooooppppeee

#2537902 Babcock quote about Jurco... Possible shot at Holland?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 01 October 2014 - 11:05 AM

It could be exactly face value. Babs wants him on the team, so if Holland is able to keep him there Babs wants him there.

#2537822 Are the wings underrated?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 30 September 2014 - 11:20 AM

You can't base expectations off last year unless your expectation is that everyone will miss 20-40 games. The talent level of this team is not a team that barely makes the playoffs as long as they're relatively healthy. If the younger guys take a step forward they'll be in the top 4 of the conference.

I think they would have been last year if not for injuries. That was what I predicted last year at the beginning of the year too

#2537781 9/29 Exhibition GDT : Maple Leafs 0 at Red Wings 3

Posted by Euro_Twins on 29 September 2014 - 09:47 PM

I watched a little of this game, and there is just something missing. They want Hockeytown to get all fired up for the Wings season starting, but there just is nothing new or exciting about it. And Dan Cleary is skating around out there wearing #17 and with an A on his sweater. I think I threw up in my mouth a little.

why? He got 12 minutes ice time on a team full of teenagers and he's an absolute warrior. The A doesn't concern me, he is a great leader and role model. If half our team had his work ethic on ice, we would win the cup every year. He shouldn't have been signed again cause of his lack of ability to play at such a high level anymore but the A couldn't have gone to anyone better on tonight's roster.

#2537563 Ericsson/Smith Day-to-Day with groin/hip flexor issues

Mother of god.....I'm tired of posting these already....

Regular pre season stuff, more worrisome if it carries into the regular season.

#2537503 We're Down One Goose

Posted by Euro_Twins on 28 September 2014 - 01:02 PM

I think it has something to do with practice...

Think about it: the Wings practice against the Wings - we aren't an overly physical team and in practice we would be even less physical than in a game. If you practice going to the dirty areas and into the corners over and over again in practice without any physical impact when you get to a game situation you do the same but get destroyed. I think our players are just generally not totally expecting huge impacts - look at Sproul, Datsyuk recently who were surprised by hits they typically wouldn't expect from practicing against a soft Wings team.

Nyquist had a knee on knee collision. Should they start practicing knee on knee collisions in practice so they are ready?
