#2533749 Who is YOUR most under-appreciated/unsung Red Wing?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 05 August 2014 - 05:23 PM

I agree nothing worse then people thinking we have to have 12 two way forwards. We could use guys who can actually score 40 goals a year.

I would love to have a non defensively minded forward that can pot 40-50 goals.

#2533564 Candiens, P.K. Subban agree to 8 year contract

Posted by Euro_Twins on 02 August 2014 - 06:57 PM

People need to stop pointing to these "escalating contracts" and suggesting we are headed to another lockout.  Every player in the league could sign to the league minimum ($550,000 or whatever it is now) and it would have a "zero" impact on how much cash ends up going to the players.  Scenario A - every player in the league signs for $1M, scenario B - every player in the league signs for $10M.  Under both scenarios A & B, total cash compensation to player will be the same...that's how the CBA works.  Player contracts are simply used to determine how the player's share of revenues is divided amongst the player group.

Well aside from the fact that if you paid each player one million you wouldn't hit the cap floor and ten each would be way over the cap. You have to look at the fact that each player ISNT paid equally. And contracts like this DO drive up other salaries. So come time for a new cba they will definitely say the players make too much money again, and budda boom budda Bing, another lockout

I hope these contracts aren't slowly moving us toward another lockout.....

They are.

#2533257 Tatar Signs 3 Year Deal $2.75 mill AAV

Posted by Euro_Twins on 29 July 2014 - 08:18 AM

ok, ok, no more Diesel...

I said its too much so he better get 20-30 goals to prove he is worth it. If he never gets 20 then its way over payment. Closer to 30 and he is worth it for sure! In the end I am glad he is still a Red Wing! Go Tatar!

So 30 goal scorers make less than $3million? I understand the sentiment but your argument is invalid. If he scores 20 goals he is worth the contract. If he scores 30 he is performing way higher than his contract.

He proved more than sheahan has, and more than nyquist had when he signed his deal so I understand it. Nyquist will get a better contract than Tatar after this year. I predict 4 million for 4 years or 5 for 5

#2532640 Rule Changes in the AHL (what the NHL has considered)

Posted by Euro_Twins on 20 July 2014 - 01:10 PM

What's wrong with havinga winner ? Different sports are having different metrics and just because a stupid sport like soccer is having a tie, doesn't mean hockey should do so too.

The most important part in all of this is how are the players thinking about the shootout ?

Ya I can't believe how stupid soccer is. I mean why do All the rules have to make sense?

Just look at that smart sport like hockey, 2 points for a regulation win, but somehow it becomes 3 points if it's in overtime!!

#2532539 Hockey News: Detroit has the easiest schedule

Posted by Euro_Twins on 19 July 2014 - 09:03 AM

The source doesn't say Detroit has the easiest schedule because of the teams they play. Their measurement is all about back to backs

That's being everyone in our division plays the same teams the same number of times. Each team plays 2 games against every team in the opposite conference (home and away). Then they play each team more games if they are in the conference and even more if they are division rivals.

Kulikov signed to a 3 year $13million dollar deal with FLA.  (That's a pretty penny.)
What does this mean for DeKeyser's eventual payday?

From Proteau (THN: Post to Post Blog)

.
...and I can't believe "Preds Guy" didn't already post this:

Preds sign:
Derek Roy for 1 year/ $1 millon
Mike Ribeiro for 1 year/$1.05 million

...maybe I missed it.

It's predsfan not preds guy

#2532437 Dekeyser signed. 2 yrs $2.187 million AAV

Posted by Euro_Twins on 18 July 2014 - 12:48 AM

Dekeyser is a defensive dman not an offensive possession dman. His Corsica numbers will never be at the top.
