#2459557 Shea Weber leaves game with Injury

Posted by Euro_Twins on 01 December 2013 - 11:30 AM

Can't believe some of you are still butt hurt over what Weber did to Z. I'd take Weber on the Wings in a heart beat. It wasn't that big of deal. Sure I was upset that night but let it go

I will never let it go. Just as I will never forgive coward Cowen

#2459555 12/1 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Senators 2, Alfredsson scores ENG

Happy birthday to Tomas - he's 23 today.  Hope you get a hattie tonight, Tater!

If Tatar gets a hatty do you get free tater tots instead? or perhaps the release a million packets of tartar sauce from the ceiling...

I've been waiting for this game since last Saturday's game. The Sens knocked the Wings all over the ice last game. It's time for the Wings to pay back the favors (I wouldn't be disappointed if Spezza or Ryan get knocked out for a few games from the "legal" hits that Shanny is going to overlook).
It sucks that 22 can't be called up but I'm hoping that some other players step up and play a more physical game.

Well as long as Shanny won't know how many games that player will miss he can't suspend anyone right

He's like the road runner.

#2459014 Babcock's system

Posted by Euro_Twins on 28 November 2013 - 12:18 PM

I'm not too sure about Babcock's system on goalies right now. Don't know if it deserves it's own thread but as many people have mentioned Gus needs to be starting more as of right now.

I think you're right mostly cause I think Howie needs a bit of a mental break. I think Gus should get the start Friday, and Howie Sunday

#2458565 Defense or Offense

If the defense could make a good first pass, and cycle the pick more productively without always turning the puck over, two things would happen.

1. We score more goals, as we aren't always chasing are own tails and we can seamlessly enter the o-zone

2. Less goals against as there won't be all these odd man rushes and breakaways.

#2458505 Ericsson re-signed 6-yrs $4.25 mill AAV

I like this deal a lot. Its not for too long like a couple guys we got. And the cap hit is about right. It might even be less tbenn what he can get on the open market....def our best defender.

Dekeyser is our best defender in my opinion, but I definitely like this signing and cap hit

#2458241 I'd like to talk about this off-season/next season

Posted by Euro_Twins on 26 November 2013 - 07:43 AM

I'd like to see:
Kindl/Almqvist (fight for ice time and a spot)
I think Mantha is the exception.  He's a giant power forward who can dangle and score.  He should be on the top line with Z and Dats and eat the Calder trophy for breakfast, lunch and supper.  Keep Helm on the 2nd line cause he's taking it and owning it.  Weiss can be a slightly expensive shutdown guy until his scoring touch comes back, which it should with wingers like Franzen and Jurco, who I expect good things from at the NHL level.  I want to see that 4th line annoy and destroy.  I don't care if they get a goal all year, which I'm sure they would, but regardless I just want them to hit everything.  Ouellet and Sproul should be on the team next season with Marchenko next in line from what I hear.
If no free agent that is the likes of Vanek or someone of that caliber wants to sign, that team above could compete for the Cup.

Maybe in 4/5 years, as of now that lineup has 8 rookies, and 4 guys with 1-1.5 years nhl experience. I know we're all high on our prospects and all, but that team would be very lucky to make the playoffs, and they sure as hell won't be winning a cup.

#2458238 Brendan Smith

Posted by Euro_Twins on 26 November 2013 - 05:51 AM

I still can't decide if Smith fighting Neil was brave or stupid.

Brave. He got beat but he held his own, he did surprisingly better then I expected, he dis get like 4 or 5 good shots in, plus he didn't get knocked down

You missed the smith as a cup of coffee joke.

Lol thanks, now that I re-read it, it kinda sounds like I won't buy smith A cup of coffee, but you're right I was making a joke about him being referred to as being turned into Coffey

#2457554 Quincey

Posted by Euro_Twins on 24 November 2013 - 08:25 AM

OK, we'll just stick with the 9,000 other incidents.
At this point I'm ready to blame him for my kidney stones.

I had a hernia 10 years ago, damn you Quincey

#2457461 11/23 GDT: Game 24 - Senators 4 @ Red Wings 2

Posted by Euro_Twins on 23 November 2013 - 10:29 PM

And when that happens, I demand that Kenny go out and sign four of the biggest, meanest, dirtiest Beer League f***in assholes and slam one on each line to do nothing but bring the pain for 60 minutes. The Sens will have to call up their entire AHL team because all of their players will be sitting on IR, and Pavel Datsyuk will single handedly score every goal in the entire series which the Wings will sweep 4-0. Kyle Quincey will sleep with all the refs' daughters, give them herpes, and laugh about it on the ice in the refs' faces.

So let it be written.

and it shall be written
