#2390173 Franzen's a Bargain

Posted by Euro_Twins on 26 April 2013 - 11:55 AM

To be accurate....2008-09 was his best ppg season

you are right, my bad, but it is pretty darn close to it, like 2 points off lol. I would also like to point out he has 5 straight seasons over 70% ppg production at 3.9mil cap hit, and flip wants 5mil... LMAO

What seperates guys like Franzen from guys like Datsyuk/Zetterberg/other elite forwards is their DRIVE.

Like it has been saide, if the Mule could just harnass an energy or drive level from game to game the way he has recently, he could be an elite player.

As far as shot goes, let's face it: he has the best shot on the team and it isn't close. If we could only have that all the time.

you look like franzen lol

I just got back from the game... I love reading the early comments, like we can't come back from being a goal down, I just love how some people give up so easily on this team when down by 1 goal with over half the game left lol... fun game to watch though! boys showed up and played one of the best 60 minutes I've seen in a long time!

Ansar Khan ‏@AnsarKhanMLive 3m

Babcock said Bertuzzi is not playing tonight.

Ansar Khan ‏@AnsarKhanMLive 2m

Babcock said no lineup changes. White, Colaiacovo, Lashoff out on D. Samuelsson cleared to play but Babcock elected not to dress him.

oh, what a shame for sammy...

#2388402 Dan Dekeyser Watch

There is no solid reason on this planet for any player especially a young one to not aspire to improving offensively.

Stop seeing everything in black and white and maybe this discussion will go somewhere.

stop responding like a spoiled child and maybe it will go somewhere. He has more confidence offensively then most of our team. Scoring goals is not the only thing that is offensive, the start of the rush from your own end is where the offense begins, it doesn't start from the puck being shot into the net, and offense is generated from good cycling in the o-zone, and good passes, which he is great at, so your argument is invalid, go troll elsewhere.

Seeing in black and white? I'm looking at how he has played throughout his hockey career. I'm not sure why there is any reason to believe that magically now in this point in his career, would he magically start producing offensively? Danny DeKeyser, even in his younger years, hasn't put up numbers offensively. It is not his game. Your complaint about him was that he lacked confidence in the offensive zone. I tried explaining to you, for his role, his has more than enough confidence. He pinches when he sees fit, he keeps the play going, and he absolutely helps the transition. All of those attribute to offensive production and confidence. You didn't want to believe this for some ungodly reason and took it as if I was trying to be high and mighty. I wasn't. I was telling to have you understand the type of player he has been through his career. You then take me trying to explain to you once again, that it's simply not his game to score goals. It shouldn't be regarded towards his play either. His play revolves around that in his own zone, not in the offensive.

He has never scored goals in his younger years, why should we expect him to magically start scoring at this level? It is not his game. Nor should it be expected.

DO NOT argue with logic and reason, that is ridiculous...

The wings have 2 pp goals so far this game, and people aren't happy, nothing makes people on this site happy I guess. The wings could be up 5-0 and people would still find a reason to complain

#2387703 NHL 14 Cover Vote - Jimmy or Pavel

I agree. How in the hell did Pavel lose against Tavares last year?

this.

#2387686 NHL 14 Cover Vote - Jimmy or Pavel

I think the whole thing is a sham, to be honest. They refuse to show a vote counter, and when the round is done players are randomly eliminated, with no sort of count or anything

#2386377 Howard = Average

Posted by Euro_Twins on 18 April 2013 - 10:20 AM

Everyone keeps saying about how kipper stole the game last night and jimmy should take note... IIRC Howard has played ions Vetter then kipper this year, I mean just look at the stats. Howard has single handedly kept us afloat all season, the forwards were the ones who didn't bail him out this time, I would absolutely keep Howie over kipper any day

Well eleventh is the same as ninth.

if you don't make the playoffs, 11th is better then 9th, better picks

*deep breath*

For all intents and purposes, the scored one goal.

no, they scored two... by your logic then, Calgary must have only scored 1 too i suppose? did i miss the overtime?

So where are the guys who think Jimmy Howard is an elite goaltender at?

lmao, just wow. what a dumb post, a combination of bad bounces and terrible decision making by the defense and forwards, and you will honestly blame howie? I mean c'mon, get real here, and stop following the other sheep on using #35 as a scapegoat.

#2385715 Franzen.... cares?!

Posted by Euro_Twins on 17 April 2013 - 04:53 PM

I think Tootoo has been a major disappointment, which I expected.  There are too many shifts that he's barely noticeable.  He's a guy who could be a difference maker with a big hit or dropping the gloves in these big games against Chicago but he's mostly been a no show.

two reasons for this

1. he keeps getting scratched, so he is trying not to make mistakes, and you aren't always ready to go if you don't play regularly

2. I think babs is discouraging him from playing the way he did at the start of the season for whatever reason

#2385607 Concerned - we might not make it in to the playoffs

Posted by Euro_Twins on 17 April 2013 - 11:48 AM

Not to mention there are only 2 legit NHL d-men on the entire roster, and one of them (Ericcson) is wildly inconsistent and that's being kind.

I am so tired of people ragging on Big Rig all the time, he has been very solid this year, Dekeyser is looking very good, Lashoff and kindl look great too. Quincey is starting to play much better, like it or not our defense is actually pretty solid all around

#2384612 nhl.com calls Kenny the best GM

Posted by Euro_Twins on 14 April 2013 - 03:50 PM

So who would be the best?

There isn't a GM in the league that has faced the kind of losses we have and done any better at staying competetive. Most haven't been around long enough to try rebuilding on the fly and/or never even built a team successful enough in the first place.

everyone points to pittsburgh, but they fail to remember what that team was before he who shall not be named came into the picture, when they were almost bankrupt...
