Dats and Crosby are fun to watch, but the rest are just kinda blah.

#2431432 Brunner Contract Talks

Posted by Euro_Twins on 24 July 2013 - 08:10 PM

He's not up for a new contract. He's our #3, and he's starting to kick some butt with the development of our younger guys. What defense are you watching? We took both the Ducks and Blackhawks to game 7, and our defense looked SPECTACULAR for only having played together for 2-3 months. Tootoo was in the fricking PRESS BOX. Lets have a conversation about Tootoo's playoff performance last year. Oh, wait. We're done. Ok, fine. The year before, then. Oops. We're done, again.

Ok then let's have a conversation about Quincey. Turnover after turnover after bad mistake. The only reason he wasn't in the press box was because we had no one to replace him with. You seriously think he is good then I beg you to get your eyes checked because he was abysmal.

#2431132 Boston Bieber Proofs Locker Room

Posted by Euro_Twins on 22 July 2013 - 10:07 AM

That's todays music industry for you.  No talent hacks dressing like derps making bad club music with lyrics that don't make a s***'s bit of sense.  If I were the NHL team, I'd padlock the dressing room and tell him he's in the visitors room, or a janitor closet.  You can have the big boy room when you write a song that lasts the ages and doesn't fizzle out when people stop using the words you say.

2 tops. He'll grow a bad dirt stache and the pre-teens will fall out of love with the little clown.

It's a respect thing. The dressing room is the teams sanctuary.  It teaches you to keep your head up and look where you're going.

How would a logo on the floor teach you to keep your head up?

I actually like that s***sburgh is in the division with the worst name

#2430699 Um, OK, not really sure this'll have the desired effect

If your pee is that yellow, you're not drinking enough water. ;)

What if I just drink a lot if water with yellow color dye in it?

#2430591 Red Wings popularity in Detroit/Michigan

Posted by Euro_Twins on 17 July 2013 - 10:23 PM

Agreed. Do you guys think that the fact that so many of the team "pillars" now are European might have some small effect on how fans relate? I don't think like that personally, but others might. Of the current long term core, only Howard and Abby are North American. Plus, they don't seem like "characters" in the way much of the old crew did.

Helm. Smith, Deke (lashoff, if you want to include him) will all be our new core, with guys like mantha who is also NA

#2429884 Ilya Kovalchuk announces retirement

Plus he is by his family. And you can't put a price on that.

Sure you can. 75 million over 5 years would have done it

#2429829 Brunner Contract Talks

I'm still here. I still don't like the Alfredsson signing and believe that having Brunner over him would be good for now and the future. 1 year is not my idea of a good use of 3.5 mil with 5.5 mil incentives.

3.5 mil with 2 mil in incentives

I meant that Brunner is not a suitable replacement for Kovalchuk.

If there is one available I think we would love to have him

#2429408 Smith files for arbitration

Pretty sure we never had anything to worry about in that department lol

Ya cause no teams want or need a young defenseman with a lot offensive potential. Oh sorry that's right he wasnt a superstar in his rookie year, I forgot. That automatically makes him terrible and we should forget he ever existed...

2 guys out of 720 NHL players?

Didn't someone already refute this idea with the stats and the lead in hits and things was minimal from the east over the west.

How well did Lucic/Chara work against the Hawks?

I know I compared the top hundred players hits stats and posted them. difference was like 1.5 hits/team/game for the east over a full season

#2428889 So.. what are our expectations for this roster?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 08 July 2013 - 09:19 PM

On paper I could agree. But not on ice.

Pitts nyr Boston mtl Washington. I believe are the tops 5 then were in the next group that can barely make it or barely miss. Which includes us, Ottawa, Columbus, tor, islanders philly. Then two teams I'm not sure of are Tampa and njd.

This is if if we have some key injuries which I fully expect. Also monster being injury prone is key....Howard can't start 82 games and mrazek isn't ready.

I agree with Mrazek not being ready, but you have no proof that monster will be injured all year, or at all for that matter, most injuries this year was for a lack of half a season with no time for training camps, and a week long pre-season. Washington is garbage when Ovie isn't playing full tilt, which aside from 24 games last season he hasn't played that way in several years, so they are like a 6th seed maybe, they only had home ice cause they had the worst division in hockey. I do not truly believe NYR will be better with Vigneault than they were with Torts. Montreal is hit or miss really, Boston has fallen apart this off season, so lets see how they bounce back after losing key pieces of their team, and Pittsburgh is just a joke, they are good regular season, but come playoffs they are the laughing stock of the nhl. I honestly don't think there are 3 teams truly better than us, assuming half our team doesn't get injured (we can't possibly have that much bad luck 4 straight years) then I firmly believe we will start playoffs with home ice, and make a deep playoff run. With Alfie, and weiss joining Datsyuk, Z, Franzen, Nyquist and Tatar, and Helmer, we are in for a treat this year, cause we aren't trying to make playoffs this year, we are trying to win it all.

#2428836 Question about Buying out Samuelsson

It is ok, you don't have to pretend your friend isn't Holland!

LOL!!!

Just kidding!

Lmao, I wish, if it was everytime he thought of re-signing cleary I would give him a whack in the back of the head to wake him up

#2428757 is anyone happy right now?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 08 July 2013 - 10:32 AM

Is it me or does it seem that everyone in our division/conference next season has made the most noise this off season?

Something to think about

Bostons roster has crumbled, and most other teams have just filled holes that opened this off season I.e. Tampa picking up flip. I believe us to be the best team in our division, but we will see. I like our off season moves. Still wish we 're signed Brunner but we will be ok
