that's verging on all star money, I can see 5 mil, but not 6. Maybe if he is willing to be talked down I would take him for 5

He lacks discipline. If he can get his head straight I'm very excited about him :)

#2422154 Wings looking to trade before using buyouts

Posted by Euro_Twins on 25 June 2013 - 11:09 AM

Enjoyed the nugget about the Wings trying to trade Tootoo.  There are some posters here that will burn the forum down if they deal their beloved "enforcer".

It's interesting that people talked about the Wings as one of the (secondary) offenders of offering backdiving deals, yet the two suspected candidates (37 and 28) are actually guys on shorter term deals signed in the 2012 offseason.  In other words, we actually did intend on honoring the Zetterberg and Franzen contracts.

However, is Khan right about this?  I thought that Sammy and Bert were both on 35+ deals, and you can't buyout a 35+ deal.  I must be mistaken.

Players who sign multi-year contracts when they are age 35 or older (calculated on June 30 of the season the contract begins) count toward the cap under all circumstances, regardless of where (or if) the player is playing. The only cap relief is $100,000 from the player's cap hit if he is assigned to the minors after the first year of the contract. A buyout — either ordinary-course or compliance — can also reduce the cap hit.

#2420843 Brunner Contract Talks

Posted by Euro_Twins on 19 June 2013 - 04:47 PM

we get a guy who LOVES to shoot and score goals, and is willing to put hard work into the holes in his game and we are going to low ball him? but we are content with sammy and cleary at 3mil? and quincey at 3.775?

#2420842 Dreger: Filppula looking for $5.5m/season over at least 7 years

Posted by Euro_Twins on 19 June 2013 - 04:44 PM

5.5, 7-8 years, no thanks he had ONE season worth that. Where does he get off trying to bully the organization that picked him 95th overall and took the time and money to develop him into a top 6 player? He should be content with signing a 1-2 year deal with the wings for 3.5-4 million and prove himself then.

#2420812 Brunner Contract Talks

Posted by Euro_Twins on 19 June 2013 - 01:02 PM

So...Brunner has the same agent as Ryan Suter? FML

He's probably gonna sign with the Paris DoucheCanoes with Raphael Diaz for 18 billion dollars and 23 years so they can be the new Euro Thunderbuddies.

At least the Paris DoucheCanoes' farm team won the Calder Cup. Oh wait...

Is it wrong to be drunk at 10am on a Wednesday morning?

nope, If I was able to I would join you in the drunken festivities :)

#2420195 Brunner Contract Talks

Hudler is a legitimate top 6 forward, who we shouldn't of let go. Hudler at 4 million is a lot better than Sammy at 3 million. If Brunner wants 3, give it to him.

don't kid yourself, hudler is just as useless as Sammy

#2417570 ECF - (4) Boston Bruins vs. (1) Pittsburgh Penguins

Posted by Euro_Twins on 04 June 2013 - 11:08 AM

lol @  iginla screwing over Boston, karma sucks buddy.

Speaking of the Pens losing at home, today is the 5 year anniversary of when we captured our 11th Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh aka the best sports moment of my life!

  :champs:

also marks the 4 year anniversary of the worst sports moment of my life... :(

#2416401 Let's Talk About Abdelkader, Plus Others

Posted by Euro_Twins on 30 May 2013 - 09:35 PM

Abdelkader doesn't deserve to be on the first or second line, he had 3 points in the playoffs, he was outplayed by the likes of injured Dan Cleary. He was a plug and an experiment, his season totals weren't out of his normal averages, and his playoffs were trash.

points don't necessarily translate to success, Cleary got 10 points but was not very good, Abby did a great job screening the goalie, opening up space and getting under players skin. He has potential, he just needs to work on his game a bit in the off season

#2415910 2013 Offseason Thread

Do we really need a thread to say the same thing people have been posting threads to say all year?
