I was browsing nhl, and I read the headline "Can't miss: Letang lays Big Hit on Tavares"
Now, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that blatant interference? Tavares was just skating after a dump in with Letang was ahead of him. Letang puts on the brakes, and throws his back/ shoulder into Tavares. I don't understand how that isn't a penalty. Let alone being heralded as a great hit...
It might be in this video, I'm at work so I can't watch through and check but this would be your best bet. This guy has a whole youtube channel dedicated to Red Wings highlights.
For those of you who don't want sit through the whole thing, it starts at the 12:03 mark.
I think the whole thing is a sham, to be honest. They refuse to show a vote counter, and when the round is done players are randomly eliminated, with no sort of count or anything
I agree. How in the hell did Pavel lose against Tavares last year?
My only thing with Howard is he's yet to prove he can play in the playoffs. Ozzie was a playoff goalie, not as good in the regular season. Howard is kind of the opposite as of now, and I realize the team isn't what it used to be and isn't a guarantee to make the dance, but if we get in I hope Howard answers the challenge. I don't expect him to carry us to the cup, but not being the reason we lose no matter how deep we get will be a start.
That San Jose series when we were down 3-0 a couple years ago, he basically willed it to 7 games himself. We just couldnt score to save our playoff lives.
Matthias wasn't a great loss, but that shift was awesome. A Helm-like shift there, and the score at the end of it, he can brag about that for a while.
Speaking of Helm, anyone have a video of that one shift he had maybe three years ago, where it was him against basically the entire opposing team, and he kept getting the puck along the boards and carrying it around for a whole shift? Passing to himself and whatnot? That was one of the coolest things I've seen.
