Yes. These 30 games are surely the unchangeable harbinger of every second of the rest of his life. May as well dig his grave now, save some time in the future. I never said he's been great. The guy gets so much flack when he has NEVER been the reason we have lost games.
Lol his retarded penalty is what started this onslaught. Not just taking a penalty but making it blatantly obvious and unnecessary in the offensive zone to start a very important third period where we had to bear down and keep the lead.
Sorry Jimmy..nothing personal but if there were two Jimmy Howards in the net tonight this lead still would've been blown. He's just really pooping the bed this year. He's gonna lose the starting job and his Olympic chance all in a matter of a few months. It's a shame but if he was even decent this year with the lead we'd have about 6 or 7 more wins. I hate what a bunch of pansies we become against teams like this. The Joe used to be such an intimidating place to play. I understand not wanting to take any penalties whenyou have the lead but once your best players start getting punched and boarded, someone has to nail somebody.
I think Matt should start dispensing lithium prescriptions with each user name - you are seriously some bi-polar sons of *******.
Yes, they blew a 2-goal lead. Yes, they are getting roughed up. It's not the first time, it won't be the last, and we're only ONE THIRD of the way through the season. It's a disappointment and hopefully a learning experience for the cast and crew of the Wings organization. Let's start the lynch mob a little later in the season, okay?
The Red Wings planned on recalling Nyquist on Thursday. Putting defenseman Danny DeKeyser (separated left shoulder, 3-to-6 weeks) on long-term injured reserve clears enough salary-cap space.
However, an unspecified injury to defenseman Kyle Quincey could cancel that plan. If Quincey, who didn't practice Wednesday due to "bumps and bruises,'' can't play, then the Red Wings would need to use their available cap space to recall a defenseman.
And just like that I wish Kyle Quincey would just go the f*** away. He ruins literally everything with this club.
Franzen is a shell of his former self, and will not ever be the same again
we will see flashes from time to time, but I think it's far too late to expect him to start producing offense at a consistent level
if he doesn't get the hint from Z's recent comment, or Babs putting him at center to FORCE him to be more engaged on the ice, then he never will(spoiler- he won't)
it reminds me of when the Oilers GM was complaining about Dustin Penner's lackadaisical play after he got his ridiculous contract, and he said something along the lines of, "Penner saw getting this contract as an end point, and he should've seen it as a starting point"
that's how I feel Franzen looks at his contract and how much effort he thinks he needs to put in, it's like he's thinking, "Hey I worked hard to get this awesome lifetime contract, now it's time to sit back and watch the money pile up"
ok maybe that's a bit much, but y'all get my point; he doesn't feel he has much to play for, he's won a Cup, he's got his money, to him the rest is gravy
and the difference between Z's contract and Franzen's contract is Z has passion for the game and loves to go out there and compete and be the best player on the ice, Franzen does not have that passion, except maybe in little tiny bursts
