#2428222 is anyone happy right now?

Posted by St. Michael (the Red Wing) on 06 July 2013 - 07:10 PM

I'm on the fence as of now. Don't really like the Alfie signing.

Weiss signing I'm ok with.

Brunner looks like he is gone. I'm pissed

IF Cleary resigns with us I'm going to be more pissed off.

Pretty interesting middle of summer so far....

Helm has been declared healthy and ready to play before. It's when he starts playing that's the problem.

Supposedly, Morrow and Iginla's motivation to win the Cup was supposed to put the Pens over the top. I don't know why anyone thinks Alfredsson wanting to win a cup is any different.

I guess my whole issue is that for the past few seasons, we keep hearing, oh just wait, Kenny Holland is making these conservative moves to plan for the future so we can sign that big free agent or make that big move. But it never comes. Or it's, just wait till these kids in Grand Rapids get in the lineup. But no, they're not ready until they're 25 and then they have to play a few seasons on the 3rd or 4th line to prove you are NHL worthy.

Maybe I'm forgetting, but have the Wings made any kind of significant trade since the Shanahan trade in the 96/97 season?

In a word, No. I'll leave it at that. And no one can convince me otherwise.

I agree.  We need a third man after today.

The first player in a long time that I actually liked and then this garbage goes down. What a bummer day.

Holland said he's still trying to sign Cleary but Brunner is moving on.

Should be the other way around dammit!!

Does anybody else get a little more depressed everytime you refresh the threads page and don't see "Brunner signed with Wings"?

Tatar > Brunner

#2426838 Wings sign Alfredsson to 1-year, $3.5m deal (+$2m bonuses)

Another short term fix, that will not address our need to get bigger and stronger. Waste of $$$ in my opinion.

The best thing about a short term fix is its short term. Get him for a season and hope for better FA's next year. If it works out then good its better than having they money sit.

Same people crying like always.

I like it. It;s only for 1 year for a player that can still score and as we have seen in the past older player seem to thrive with the wings org. Can't wait to see him play with Dats and Z.

Want Brunner.... Must get Brunner.

Wish we could give Brunner Sammy's money and just be done with him. So much dead money on a few unproductive players.

This statement has to be one of the most lazy, thoughtless cliches in all of sports fandom. Just because fans want their team to improve or because they criticize moves or the lack thereof does not make those fans "spoiled." It makes them passionate. That's the definition of being a fan.

I think the term fan comes from the word fanatic.

fa·nat·ic [fuh-nat-ik]
a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal, as in religion or politics.
