#2625828 Kane case headed to grand jury

Posted by MasterPavel on 17 September 2015 - 09:54 PM

Catch 22

Hawks should put him on the shelf until this is resolved

Innocent until proven guilty?

Yeah, stay classy Chicago

This case needs to be observed individualy of the voynov case. Each case is unique unto their own. The evidence was pretty discerning immediately after it unfolded regarding voynov. However there has not been enough evidence to indict Kane at this point. I am by no means defending kane, and believe his reputation precedes him. Also I am a prosecutor not a defense attorney, but I am reminded of a case that I studied regarding rape. A USC football player was accused of rape by a high school "friend", and sentenced to 15 years. 2 years later, while he was in prison she came clean that it was a bribe contrived by her mother. I'm not saying he is innocent, but we need to take our fan bias out of the equation until our justice system rules on the case. Is it perfect? No, however the system gets it right more than it gets it wrong. In this case there isn't enough evidence to send it straight to trial, so let's wait to judge the league until after.

And therein lies the problem with trials by jury

It is definitely not a perfect system, but what's the alternative use one "nuetral" arbitrators/judge? I can promise you that nuetral is a very loose term with outside arbitration. The problem doesn't lie within the system alone, but within human nature.

He would be a better signing than Cleary...

#2608556 Free agents this off season

He's the biggest bodied boy in the draft. So naturally we all want him.

I am not the type that thinks size is the only thing that matters. However when you get a guy that has good skill and can actually do more than goon it up hell yeah it would be a good idea to draft him.

#2570246 Mike McKee

His job isn't to score goals just wait till he will be with the team, opponents will for sure "feel" his impact soon enough, so excited for this prospect.

The days of having a guy that can only be tough are over, especially in this franchise. You have to at least be a shut down defender ala glendening.

Provorov and Carlsson are lefties, the others will definitely be gone. Roy is small, and Spencer is a right handed Kyle Quincy. We need either one of them like Franzen needs another concussion. However there will be value in the 2nd and beyond. You don't pass on a Greenway or Lööke if available in the mid twenties for a dman that could be replaced with very little drop off in the 2nd. But carry on with your dman agenda

#2548856 Mantha getting closer.

Come on man! Have a little faith bro. Dats should be back, and we usually play well against the hawks.

Am I the only one having a hard time deciding which game to watch?  The one where Anthony Mantha begins his professional career?  Or the one where the Chicago Blackhawks humiliate my favorite team?

Probably should have kept Filpula. I was all for signing Weiss instead of Valteri, but at least Holland and I were wrong...

#2531156 Wings re-sign Cleary $1.5 mill + $1mill in game bonuses

Posted by MasterPavel on 10 July 2014 - 04:22 PM

Babs probably wanted Cleary. I just don't get it. If you want him around the locker room for leadership give him some bull s*** job. This is exactly why top free agents don't want to play for the wings anymore.

Blah. I'm pissed. Literally, no one wants to sign here. I bet you Holland did offer him the same amount but he didn't want to come here. Can't keep blaming Holland. We're not a destination anymore.

That is a perfect reason to blame him. Why aren't we a destination anymore? Probably falls on the GM not making the team a legit contender since 2010 right?

#2526995 Wings "in the mix" for Iginla

Posted by MasterPavel on 29 June 2014 - 04:46 PM

I wouldn't mind Iginla in a Wings uniform but I think he is starting to get too old. Maybe 3 years ago I would have wanted him. #TooOld

He has two good years left at a minimum.

That is a terrible idea. So we would give up a 30 goal scorer that without we wouldn't have been in the playoffs. Plus a potential 30 goal scoring power forward for a guy who most people project as a borderline 1, strong 2 dman. Ekblad is no Doughty or Weber...

Offer them our first Nyquist and Jurco Ekblads potential is sky high him at Dekeyser at the blueline would be an unbelievable pairing for more than a decade

If I was placing a bet, it is 50-50 if we trade the 1st round pick this. I would not be surprised to see the 1st, and a couple of players get moved to pick up a top pair RHed Dman, something we need now, not 2-3 years from now. If we keep the pick, I still can't see a better option at 15 than Tuch. Still makes the most sense.

We definitely could use more big guys with skill. I still really like Perlini if he is available at 15.

When is Vladislav Kamenev expected to go?

I would imagine sometime mid way throughout the second or sooner.

That Nick Ritchie guy could be an upcoming powerforward already 6-3, 218 lbs and ranks at 15.

If he is available I would love it. One of Ritchie, Perlini, or Tuch should be available. If this series taught us anything it is that we need to get bigger and more physical. Doing so without losing skill, and those three guys accomplish that. The only way I would consider passing on them is if McCann or Barbashev are still available, and we cab trade down a few spots to acquire a 2nd.

#2499420 Gustav Nyquist Appreciation Thread

Posted by MasterPavel on 22 March 2014 - 10:16 PM

Interestingly enough Nyquist only played 10 minutes tonight. Weird use of our best scorer.

Let me start off by saying Babs is a great coach, and down the stretch the last two years has been nothing short of amazing. However some of his line combinations, and the amount of time certain players get is mind boggling to me.
