Should any of #91, #13, #40, #30 be retired? Poll/Discussion

09 July 2016 - 11:19 AM

Same old debate, new year.

But now Fedorov is officially a HHOF and was honored by Detroit. He's seemed to have mended relations with the Wings for the most part and thanked the organization in his HOF speech. Datsyuk has moved on and his career with the Wings has come to an end. Contract was moved and things worked out. Zetterberg... is basically done but just riding it out so.. Osgood because people always bring him up in the conversation.

Here are their achievements- I've italicized and bolded  the ones I felt are pretty significant accomplishments. Let me know if I'm missing anything or would like to add other categories.

Sergei Fedorov

Hart Trophy as league MVP - 1

Selke Trophy as best defensive forward - 2

Pavel Datsyuk

Henrik Zetterberg

A bit about Datsyuk's story and also many moments in this video (his young days and current days) we all got to witness live for 13 years . The background music at 3:50 gave me butterflies lol.

All purpose Mike Babcock thread

02 November 2015 - 03:22 PM

I loved Babcock when he was here. I thought he was a great coach for the Wings. But.

The Leafs are off to a worse start with Mike Babcock as their head coach than the last 5 seasons. Yes 5 seasons!

The last time the had only 1 win in the first month of hockey was in 2009-2010 season when they went 1-7-4.

This season their record for October is posted at 1-7-2

I can't help but scratch my head with this one folks.

Also any other Babcock rant or praise is welcome. We talk about it enough in other threads maybe all that can be directed here to one thread instead

I'd like to say that we will find out if Babs really IS the best coach in all of hockey. Sooner or later.

Euro Twins nearing career/franchise mile stones

25 October 2015 - 11:47 AM

Love them both. Maybe a man crush not sure.

Both guys are nearing huge miles stones in their career. And it looks like they both will be hitting a bunch of them this season!

Datsyuk -

Nearing the 900 games played mark.

Has 298 goals.

Has 571 assists.

Has 869 points.

Zetterberg -

Has 298 goals.

Has 499 assists

Has 797 points

Both are leading contenders for Franchise Game winning goals behind Yzerman, Federov, Shanahan. Which I think Z will surpass Shanny this year.

Also they are more twins than the Sedins are because of the following video. Watch at the 1:10 mark.

Cheers everyone.
