#2545522 10/29 GDT - Red Wings 4 @ Capitals 2

Posted by Wheelchairsuperhero on 30 October 2014 - 12:38 AM

Hey everyone! I'm a long time lurker coming out of the shadows. Strangely enough my first post is to ask if someone can explain what exactly Luke Glendening does to agitate so well? Does he seem to chirp a lot or is it because he's like white on rice against other teams stars? Usually I would just watch the guy but my crazy schedule this year so far has me listening to most of the games on radio and then catching the highlights. Oh yeah and following the GDT helps a lot too. Thanks I've been wondering about this.

I've thought about this and I gotta say I think it's the smile. Any time he does something that irritates a player he smiles at them, which is probably the tipping point to their temper tantrums. I know it'd piss me off lol.

To LeftWinger saying Franzen being back won't make a difference I have to respectfully disagree. I feel like our biggest issue right now is the number of people we have capable of finishing, and despite Franzen's inconsistencies he can really bury the puck given the chance. He may say he's not a scorer, but he has a good shot regardless.

Anyway great game. Loved seeing the boys battle through less than stellar officiating.

#2544859 Mantha getting closer.

Why not? he has done nothing so far, and hope mantha takes his spot sooner rather than later, or really any of our top prospects

In all fairness Tatar hasn't really done anything either, or Jurco. The team really isn't doing much offensively. With that said I also wouldn't mind seeing Mantha over Nestrasil. Though I don't know if they'd bring Mantha up to play 3rd line.

What the f*** just happened? I'll take it and say the hockey Gods are making up for a couple lost points so far this year. Something's got to give with this power play though, they just look so stiff out there compared to other teams.

LGW. Glendenning will bury one today.

Down 2 - 1? Need some scoring? Demote your current best scorer and replace him with Justin "Scoring Prodigy" Abdelkader!

Where was Jurco in the second half of the 3rd? Did he get injured?

#2540357 10/11/14 GDT: Game 2 | Ducks 3 @ Red Wings 2

Posted by Wheelchairsuperhero on 12 October 2014 - 07:00 PM

2 games and no Cleary or Weiss! Awesome!!!!!!

Cleary I agree with, however Weiss needs to be given some looks considering how much we're paying him for and for how long. Even if it's just to try to give him some trade value. I personally think he's a good player though and could help the lineup once he gets his feet under him and some confidence.

Definitely my favorite GDT I've seen.

Calling a Luke Glendening goal today, and I will keep doing so until he gets one!

Well, at least it only took me two games to call that. Crappy ending but this team looks exciting to me. Think we're going to have to accept that Nyquist is pretty good at this game.

It's hereeeeeeee
Wish they'd swap Nyquist and Abdelkader. He just shouldn't be on the top line anymore.

NHL network

Thank you. As soon as I turned it on Sheahan scored, woo.

#2538137 TSN Luke Schenn could be available

Posted by Wheelchairsuperhero on 03 October 2014 - 11:51 AM

When was he "in-dated"?  His points of view got him exactly one NHL game as a player, and one trip to the finals as a coach.  That's not exactly a validation of his hockey smarts when you consider the kind of goobers who have been much more successful than that.

Liked for the usage of 'goobers'. Kudos sir.

#2536500 Mantha's Injury

Wow, bummer. Was really looking forward to seeing him in the preseason games. Hopefully he comes back and tears it up in Grand Rapids.

#2536342 Dekeyser signed. 2 yrs $2.187 million AAV

Posted by Wheelchairsuperhero on 16 September 2014 - 05:03 PM

A lot of people posting about how he was low balled, but not one praising Holland for getting him so cheap? Anyway will this deal end with him being an RFA or a UFA?
