#2532592 Dekeyser signed. 2 yrs $2.187 million AAV

Posted by Jesusberg on 20 July 2014 - 03:36 AM

Well as the season went on he seemed to get better offensively so I wouldn't be surprised if he put up 30-35 points next year.

I don't doubt he'd be able to do it with the proper PP time, but I'm not sure he'll get it. Most of his 23 points were ES, but so were Smith's - to push to that 30-35 point mark, he'd need consistent time on the PP, I think.

I hope Smith gets his proper shot on the PP this year, as I think that's where his value lies. Kronwall and Kindl are mainstays, as long as Kindl's in the line-up, and I think the team has enough forwards who might play the point on the PP.

I guess we'll see, but I think that DD's talents should be more focused on minute eating and the PK next season, while some of the more offensively inclined guys should work the PP. Just my two cents.

Dekeyser is a defensive dman not an offensive possession dman. His Corsica numbers will never be at the top.

#2531954 Red Wings Target Mike Green

Holland coming back from his obvious brain damage could be our big off season acquisition.

#2531870 Mike Green to Wings?

Posted by GoWings1905 on 12 July 2014 - 06:59 PM

Let me know when they win a Cup as a GM

They have a combined four years on the job. Stevie's team went to the conference final in that span and Tampa Bay might be the favorite in the East heading into next season. Nill got Dallas into the playoffs in the West and has done a great job adding two huge pieces through trades already.

Holland just continues to make lateral moves since those two have left and the Red Wings have no direction under his leadership. Too bad Holland didn't stick to his word and retire when Nick did, so Nill would have gotten the GM job in Detroit before leaving.

#2531675 Confused on the direction of this team going forward

Holland on looking for a D trade:

"I don't know that what's out there is any better than what we got in our system," Holland said. "Players (free agents) would be more experienced, but are they any better than (Ryan) Sproul or (Xavier) Ouellet? We got pretty good kids."

THEN LET THEM PLAY YOUf****** IMBECILE!!!

#2469046 Westgarth to the Calgary Flames

They traded a first round guy for him. A guy who's big, but hasn't progressed in their system. When it comes down to it they traded a first round pick for a ANOTHER pair of boxing gloves. This is a loss for the flames. Even if they were salvaging a poor first round pick, it's still a loss. Especially since Westgarth will not give them anything they don't already have. Not surprisingly, Burke is as dumb as Feaster.

#2468760 12/30 GDT : Red Wings 4 at Predators 6

First line should be Cleary - Abdelkader - Bertuzzi. I don't know what the eff Babs is thinking putting Datsyuk of all people on the first effing line, we need a new coach.

Jimmy can't stop anything. Why did Babs mess up the lines too? He has done a terrible job this season with line management. Tatar down to the third line, Jurco to the fourth and for what reason? He promotes Abby and Cleary to the top-six. That's frickin insanity.

I agree they should switch Tomas and Tomas in those lines, but its still the best forward lineup they've iced in quite some times.

#2430096 Brunner Contract Talks

Posted by rick zombo on 14 July 2013 - 09:43 PM

2 years @ 3M per?

If this is true I'm going to speculate that Brunner is trying escape Detroit because he doesn't want to

- play on the 3rd line
- train as hard as the big boys
- play 2 way hockey
- be subjected to Babcock's demanding coaching style

I dunno, just seems weird that he'd leave for Jersey of all places for comparable $

The moment Brunner fields his first call from another team he is gone IMO

July 5

Dallas signs Brunner 5 years/15 million.

July 6

Columbus signs Filppula 5 years/22.5 million.

July 6

Holland signs Cleary 4 years 12 million.

October 5

Holland says we like our team.

April 2

Holland says that if Bertuzzi, Sammy, Helm, Eaves, and Franzen can all get healthy, it will be like landing 5 UFA's.

May 14

The Red Wings get bounced by the Maple Leafs.

May 19

Holland announces his intentions to begin talks with Samuelsson and Ericsson.

July 5

Ericsson signs 5 year/25 million deal with San Jose.

July 6

Holland resigns Samuelsson 2 years/5 million.

#2423284 Jonathan Ericsson - should we consider trading him?

Only if it was part of a package for that fabled top-pairing defenceman we're looking for.

All this talk of $1.5-2M, its no wonder people slag off KH so much when they have such unrealistic expectations.  He is an UNRESTRICTED free agent.  Y'know, those guys that desperate GMs give huge contracts to?

If we can get him for $2.5M that would be amazeballs.

#2417560 Holland on The Huge Show.

Posted by rick zombo on 04 June 2013 - 09:55 AM

I agree with all of this Filpulla talk and it just makes me hate Holland more for not trading Fill for a draft pick when he had the chance!

That draft pick able to pass the puck to Nyquist for the overtime winner in game 2 vs Ducks?

That draft pick able to score the series winner in game 7 vs Ducks?

I'm all for letting Filpulla walk if it comes to that, but I'm glad we had him for this playoff run. The Wings may have fell short, but the experience of being a goal short of the confernece finals trumps the value of an uncertain draft pick IMO.

I see Tatar as becoming a leader. Kid has a lot of heart, I think.
