#2539139 HELP!

Posted by dirtydangles on 08 October 2014 - 06:48 PM

Sportsk is pretty good. They have authentic stuff at great prices. They also have (haven't looked in a while) older jersey styles and brands. Ebay isn't bad if you have time to look for bargains. I think NHL store has some auctions on things (but usually ends up being overpriced).

You can order any name you want on a jersey/sweater like those dorks who have their own names put on them.

#2538812 23 man roster set... say hi to your 2014/15 Wings

Posted by LAWings on 07 October 2014 - 02:11 PM

We really need this thread? As if this roster won't change a zillion times between now and Christmas. Hell, it'll probably change again before Thursday.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, the best players on the 23 man roster will actually play.

The 23 man roster is decided by Holland. So implying Babcock is a hypocrite is actually kind of naive.

Hi...where exactly are you going with your rant, and why, what's your point?  I've just posted a factual direct link from the newspaper.  Do you beat your dog for alerting you to a fire too?

This is the NHL mandated set roster that needs to be filed by 5 pm today, that's why I created this post, 3 months of speculation is over.  The only rotation in and out of game day this Thursday will be the 3 gray sweaters who may not play of Cleary, Weiss and Nosehole.

But thank you for creating assumptions about a quote someone else made that I posted and what I was 'actually' implying.  I had no idea that was what I was thinking...are you my wife?  You must be my wife.

Both at the same time?

Seriously, were they scissoring or something?

#2537553 Babcock " I dont think it will be my final year here"

Posted by wings87 on 29 September 2014 - 10:59 AM

I don't mind him staying on long term, I don't think there are many coaches who could of gotten more out of this team the past 2 years than what Babs got.

#2525260 Dan Cleary may return...sigh

Ken Holland: Hello Daniel, I am calling to personally thank you for your many years of great service. You have been an integral part of the Detroit Red Wings since you signed on with us. However, despite earlier promises, I must regretfully inform you that we will not be offering you a contract for the upcoming season.

Daniel Cleary: Wow, Kenny… I mean… where did this come from?!? I've devoted the last ten years of my life to the Detroit Red Wings. I left money and term on the table last year in Philly so I could play here with the promise of another contract to come...

KH: I know Daniel, and we thank you for that, but based on you performance last year, and how well our prospects played filling in for you and other while the injury bug hit, we feel this is the direction we need to take as a franchise.

DC: C’mon man, you know I only played poorly last year because I was injured. There’s still plenty left in the ol’ gas tank. I know I can get back to my old form, and deep down inside, you know it too Kenny!

KH: That may be the case, Daniel. However we are simply not in a position where we can afford to bring you back on. I’m sorry.

DC: Wow!, what happened to you, man? You use to be cool.

KH: What?!? I’m still cool, Daniel.

DC: No, you’re not. You've changed man, and not for the better. Loyalty use to mean something to you. I guess it doesn't anymore.

KH: Loyalty is very important to me.

DC: Whatever, man. You’re all talk. Take your lies and broken promises elsewhere. Talk to you later…

KH: Wait! Don’t hang up! Let me see what I can do, Daniel. I’ll prove to you that I’m still cool. I’ll call your agent and see if we can’t work something out right away; perhaps a two-way contract?

DC: Two-way contracts aren't cool, man.

KH: You’re right, you’re right… I knew that. Definitely not cool. I can do better... just let me talk to your agent, ok? We’ll work something out, don’t worry Daniel.

DC: Cool, man. I’ll see you when camp opens. Ciao.

KH: Yeah, yeah… Ciao!

#2518417 Will Mantha join GR after the QMJHL playoffs?

Posted by PumpkinEscobar on 30 April 2014 - 05:09 PM

Not sure what you're trying to say, but their situations were 100% different.  DeKeyser, an undrafted free agent, left WMU and signed with the Red Wings after Western's season ended.  Mantha, who was drafted and is already signed with Detroit, is still playing with his junior team, and under the agreement between the NHL and CHL, the Wings can't call him up to the AHL until his junior season is over.

the discussion was about after Mantha's season was over

I don't think Mantha will be on the team next year. Holland will keep with GR at least one year. called up occasionally maybe but that's it.

I agree but we have to keep a contingency plan in place to have him up the year after - we have to have some expiring contracts for Mantha or Pulkkinen barring a trade that opens up roster spots for them.

Detroit Sports nation on Twitter just said he will join gr for whatever is remaining in their playoffs after qmjhl playoffs. Don't know where they heard that from so don't take it as a lock.. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

#2517730 The Franzen Hate.

Posted by number9 on 27 April 2014 - 04:59 PM

Your arguments are littered with only stats, and not what is played on the ice. It's obvious you turn a blind eye to the turnovers he creates, and I'm assuming it's someone else fault for his give away yesterday. Most people seem on the same page about the same flaws with Franzen, but points are all that seem to matter to you. I don't care if he scores 50 points a year, we can put another player to play with Datsyuk that will do that and more.

I compared Franzen with Cleary to show how broken your comparison of Franzen vs Nyquist really is.

Oh, so because of yesterdays turnover Franzen is now labeled as an overall turnover machine? Yeah, that was a bad give away. But it was also just one of only two give aways he had in the PO's. He also lead the team in take-aways during the PO's with 4. Now those stats do have some recording errors, but they still don't paint the picture of a guy who consistently gives away pucks.

#2516074 ECQF - Game 5 - Red Wings at Bruins - 3:00 PM EST

Posted by BottleOfSmoke on 26 April 2014 - 11:51 AM

I'm here begrudgingly. I feel like this is Deathwatch. I hate this time of year. A win today would be great, but I feel like it's only delaying the inevitable. I just don't see how we take three in a row from the Bs. Would be nice to grind them down a bit for the next round, though, since I want them to metaphorically die in a fire.

I'll make myself and my negativity scarce. LGW.
