#2248154 SI: Sidney Crosby to visit spine specialist in Calif.

Posted by Kira on 22 January 2012 - 02:52 PM

They don't need x-rays, all they really need to do is google it.

Rocket Richard
Art Ross
Pearson
Hart
Gold Medal
Stanley Cup

He annoys the s*** out of me, but that's a HOF-worthy resume he's racked up at the age of 24.

If he never returns to the NHL, I have to wonder what he would've accomplished in the next 10 to 15 years of his career. .

Yeah.. that and a buck might get you a newspaper.

If I had a s***, he'd be the first person I'd give it to.

I never liked this guy. He's too talented and winning comes too easy for him. He doesn't deserve it. I never liked his smug punk face. I hated the fact that he dissed hockey's post-series handshake tradition, one of the greatest traditions in all of sports, and nobody besides Red Wing fans in the NHL called him out for it. As much as I can't stand him I didn't wish the concussion thing on him. Or the NHL. The NHL is responding, finally. Perhaps Cindy Crosby will eventually find his way back on to the ice. So I can see him get drilled again!

Let's go Red Wings!

#2174742 Where is the Pavel Datsyuk appreciation thread?

Posted by Nev on 13 May 2011 - 02:25 AM

Because the man was just a beast. The only skater to turn up for all 7 games of the San Jose series, and an absolute joy to watch. 11 games, 15 points, +10.

He deserved better, and there's a fair few players on this team owe him an apology.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I forgot, played with a wrist so badly injured he couldn't take face-offs

Question: What if Crosby never returns? If you are Shero and have reasonable doubt that Crosby may never make a full recovery, do you trade him while you can? Get something of value before he hangs em up? Would that be unethical (even for the penguins org.) knowing he likely may not play another game?

Not going to happen, if Crosby trade talks even hit the market then no team would take the risk because if the Penguins give up on him then he will most likely never be the same therefore has no value, unless a team just completely rolls the dice thinking they know more than the organization that's been through the whole injury with the player in question.

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!
I take it as a compliment. Just because it's coming from you. :)

If you want to be proud of having the capability of being gaining self fulfillment from the suffering of someone you have never met's misfortune of having his entire career in the balance because of a life altering injury then be my guest. But, I'd like to think our fan base can do better that's all.

Too bad Ericsson doesn't have any family in California.

#2245300 The ONE thing I can't stand about Wings games on FSD.....

I'd rather watch an Arby's commercial 275 times straight than a report from Shannon Hogan in the stands.

Yeah, she's awful

Why do people always find something to complain about? Do you people hate life that much?

EDIT: Yes, I negged you both. Figured I'd make that public since nobody stops complaining about 'mystery negs'.

I apparently haven't been paying attention, but what happened to Crosby again? Is he back to crying about his concussions?

 Get him while he's down! Kick some dirt in his eyes.

Classy.

With all the other more important issues needing to be addressed by the League, why is Bettman and his henchmen focusing on this? Because they can.

#2241767 Tortorella fined 30k for WC comments

Posted by toby91_ca on 05 January 2012 - 12:16 PM

Oooooo, no playoff assignments! There aren't enough playoff games to go around, so that probably doesn't sting a whole lot anyway. If I screw up at my job, I don't not get invited to the Christmas party, I get called out on the carpet. Or if it's really egregious, I get fired. When was the last time anyone's heard of a ref getting fired?
And calling out the refs embarrasses the league more than doing a piss-poor job? Sounds to me like they've got their priorities screwed up. I get that they don't want anarchy, but clean house and then worry about fining people for making comments.

I used the playoff assignments as an example, there are many ways that refs get disciplined and refs get dismissed all the time. There are a few that are currently arguing wrongful dismissal as well. Yes, doing a poor job embarrases the league, which is why they get disciplined. However, the poor job is embarrasment enough, having someone get behind a camera and a mic and go on about it just adds to the embarrasment.

Like I said, find me a company out there what wouldn't take serious issue with one of their employees voicing their concerns in the public vs. doing in behind closed doors.
