    Nashville vs. Anaheim

Honesty's good. For local hockey fans it will generate a lot of excitement. The fan base is growing out here and hockey fans, no matter where they are, are loyal to their sport. Hockey needs teams like the Ducks who are dedicated to growing the sport and the Ducks organization does a lot in the community to do just that (including starting a High School Hockey League). Also, it doesn't hurt having someone like Teemu Selanne on your team. Very well liked and takes whatever time his young fans require of him to say hello or sign autographs--class act all the way. Now when you say the name Perry, I cringe--don't care for him at all. Getzlaf, just a beast. I'd love for him to be a Red Wing. My 2 cents...

Hmmmm, and yet you entered into the discussion...

    Nashville vs. Anaheim

Since being in Anaheim, Emery and Ellis are a combined 15-5-1 and I see them as streaky goalies--extremely tough to beat if they're on. Also, my understanding is that Emery has been somewhat of a model citizen since being here (my son plays youth hockey in the Jr. Ducks club). They've got some young players that have really stepped it up (e.g. Fowler), and with guys like Perry, Getlaf, Selanne, and Ryan offensively, they could go deep into the playoffs. Ducks in 5.

The Ducks will win this series easily. I'm a Red Wings fan here in SoCal so I see them play quite a bit. They're coming in with a lot of momentum and they're going to be extremely, extremely tough. Don't be surprised to see them get past the first two rounds.

WCSF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6 at Ducks 3

That's easy--Hayward is the biggest homer commentator there is. I live in SoCal and hate listening to this guy. He actually used the word "wonderful" in the same sentence with Pronger last game. Man I think he has a crush on the Ducks players--he disgusts me. Ken and Mick put this duo to shame. If I knew a channel I could get them on I would silence the television. Wings gotta win this one, my sons play travel hockey here in SoCal and there are way too many Ducks fans at the rinks here--I may need to get immunized! Wings win 3-1. Hossa and Dats finally get on the board.

    Stay classy, Penguins

I disagree. No one is saying that the Wings are saints, but if Malone (for example), had come back from a concussion do you honestly think we would be taking punches at his head - from behind? The answer is "no" and I have no rose-colored glasses on. For Franzen to get punched in the head twice - from behind - is cowardly. Roberts should be suspended for that punch - head injuries are no joke. Hockey is already rough, to know a guy is returning from a concussion and then punch him...? C'mon, rose-colored glasses?

I don't even know where to start

Wow! What a sad little man. This guy obviously lives a miserable life. I'd hate to be his dog!

    Johan Franzen

Concussion - As defined by Webster 1 a: a stunning, damaging, or shattering effect from a hard blow; especially : a jarring injury of the brain resulting in disturbance of cerebral function b: a hard blow or collision This might be the Stanley Cup Finals, but this is his life and career as well. I don't think gutting it out with a body injury is the same as a concussion. Any other injury and The Mule would be playing. We don't need to see another player affected like Konstantinov. I'd rather him sit out the Finals than risk his ability to function as a normal person. Just my 2

Stars' Monday Morning Skate Update (5/12)

I'll second that - born in Michigan, live in Southern California. My son plays hockey here as a Pee Wee and has since Mite age. I'm a Red Wings fan first, but I'll root for the sport of hockey any day over the other sports. I'll also root for good sportsmanship over bad sportsmanship any day as well as my son refs games too. We should all realize we have one major common love in life - the real king of sports - Ice Hockey. It is one of the few sports in the world in which a skill needs to be learned before it can be played - skating. The last time I checked, anyone could step on a football field, baseball field, basketball court, or soccer field and have fun playing the sport. Hockey on the other hand is to be appreciated for its niche abilities. Let's realize we're all brothers here! Getting my 2 cents in regarding the Ribeiro incident (whom I had as a starter in my Fantasy League), he should have been suspended for one game for retaliating. The door is now open to two-hand a stick into the chest of someone whose stick he ran into. Sorry, that's just my take on it to all my Dallas friends! Here's hoping tonight is a nail-biting affair putting the playoffs of the other three sports to shame once again!

Ansar Khan's response to Yashin article

I agree with everything said - except for the comment on Lilja. I honestly figured he was done as a Red Wing after that turn-over (and Selanne game winner) against the Ducks in OT. Can't recall who failed to clear the puck in the final seconds of regulation - to be fair to Lilja - but it seems to me Lilja makes a ton of mistakes. I'm not comfortable when he's in there in tight games. Just me I guess...
