#2283554 Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"

Posted by Wings_Dynasty on 12 April 2012 - 12:51 PM

Are people seriously asking Bert to fight a younger, stronger, and bigger player than himself (risking injury to himself) to avenge a player who was not even injured?

No, no, no. That makes no sense. Bert is too valuable to be doing that...

... have Ericsson or Cleary do it.

#2271329 Crosby

I hate to say it.

Crosby is the best player in the NHL.

Taking away that the Pens had won 9 games in a row before he came back, the last 2 games he has looked very sharp and made the Pens much better. 4 points in 2 games back after missing all that time is a feat in itself. I honestly can't say that any current Wing could have that kind of output after missing that amount of time, even Datsyuk (the goal last night was heartening, but he can't do it by himself).

I kinda envy the Pens fans right now. They are in a position that seriously makes them SC contenders when their season was in jeopardy a few months ago. And we are down because we might not get home ice advantage in the play-offs that we expect to be in year after year.

No jumping. No charging. North-South movement. Guy had his head down and when you put your head down it becomes shoulder height to someone else.

Clean on all counts.

Important if you are great at home and suck on the road.

#2265289 Justin Abdelkader: A fighter's courage, but no fighter's skill

Posted by Wings_Dynasty on 01 March 2012 - 01:38 AM

The Red Wings have enough offensive ability in their top 3 lines to dress a fighter every night. Everyone keeps saying (Babs included) that a fighter is useless since all they do is eat up minutes and take penalties. Yeah, they do that. They also (if they can hit, which most of the time they can) keep the other team's stars and ass-clowns looking over their shoulder and hopefully distracts them from what they do best (score goals and run around being ass-clowns).

This team can support a legit enforcer (i.e. Parros, McGrattan, Kocur, etc) that is expected to keep the peace and lay on the occasional big hit, and possibly find a niche in the Red Wing' style of play as a net front presence (replacing Homer eventually). A power-forward that is a good fighter and scorer (i.e. Lucic) is rare and can't really be pursued since they are high value to their current team. Which is why a 3rd line player on a non-playoff team (Moen) commands a high price or isn't on the block at all.

#2262941 Ericsson out One Month

Are people more in favor of Kindl or Commodore?

And, since Ericsson doesn't want to fight/stick up for teammates, maybe he will.

Haha, Datsyuk... How the hell do you not have a favorite player growing up? He must not have had a TV :-/.

They probably don't receive our signals on his home planet.

#2248073 No suspension for Zetterberg

If he gets suspended for a completely accidental play then it's horses***...let's see Z get suspended for something like this when Datsyuk couldve gotten his knee blown out on a knee on knee hit earlier in the game and there was no call at all. This was nothing more than 2 minutes from behind, no intent, not even a (real) physical force induced.

Accidental or not, an injury occurred. I am pretty sure Z is going to be suspended because the league has to be consistent and this type of play has been brought up for suspension already this season (can't remember specifics, someone else might). Since he doesn't have a history of suspensions, I think that the only reason this goes past a one game suspension is that an injury occurred that could have been worse.
