This needs to be framed and used as a banner on LGWs for the Bab-Bashers to chew on and absorb.

He is playing with MacKinnon and Drouin who could be the first two picks in the draft next year in a seriously strong top four draft class.  IF (most likely when...) the Red Wings miss the playoffs they are in the lotto and have a long shot at getting the pick needed to draft either MacKinnon or Drouin.

I'll take an 7th or 8th place finish plz. Then I can laugh at all of the hateful pricks (Leaf's fans) that are dying for the streak to end.

 

AND that still gives Detroit a 16-19th overall pick, provided they lose in the first round.

Anyway, it'll be funny to see HF's Wings subforum explode over this. Most of the residents there are inveterate pessimists who believe that they're more expert than coaches and GMs alike.

Use those amnesty buyouts on Sammy and Cola. You HAVE too. It's not like UFAs are lining up to play in the D because Kenny's so nice to his players. The cap's going down, the league is viciously tight. Can't afford to be sentimental or as "classy" as you once were. Sammy and Cola were the two most recent UFA signings, so they should go.
