#2374455 "Fight Night at the Joe" 16th Anniversary

Posted by Seraph on 26 March 2013 - 06:41 PM

Man, those videos remind me how intense the rivalry was. I remember every time we played Colorado my stomach would be in knots all day thinking about it. Haven't had anything like that since.

#2367902 Why shootouts may be a bad thing

Agreed on Kane's bs. I wish a goalie would skate out and Gaborik flip his ass while he's gliding in.

I like how we are battling at the net!

#2359498 Anyone ever used a 2-3 system before?

Not cool to be disrespectful to a post like this. It's creative and creates an interesting hockey discussion. If you think it's a bad idea explain why. Good way to learn.

I concur that with the defence pinching, it transforms into an inferior 3-2. And you are hancuffing the offense from creating any real chances.

Franzen needs to spend a summer at Aaron Downey's potato farm becoming a man.

Flippula is couldn't get a shot through if his life depended on it

Fil is the master of hustle, but then falling down and/or over-handling the puck.

#2352018 Tomas Tatar Is Jiri Hudler 2.0

I thought Brunner was the new and improved Hudler. Can we just agree that Hudler wasn't spectacular and leave it at that? Haha, poor guy.

no... we make it sound a lot less amazing than it was... it was so unreal

It was almost Datsyukian, but more Brunntacular.

This place would have been panic city if we lost again. Not unreasonably so, either. The room for error is cut in half with this shortened season. 0-2 to start the season would not have been a good place to be.

So when I left the game the Wings were up 2-0.  Then got home just in time to see the shootout.

anyone got a recap of how they blew it?

We decided we wanted to play with four people on the ice tonight.

Brunner is hungry. I'm digging it.

#2337825 NHL, NHLPA reach tentative agreement on new CBA

Did I not say it would happen? We were all losing our minds here. Let's finally gather around the TVs, beers, and ice rinks and enjoy this great sport.

If the NHLPA doesn't take this, they're idiots. The season will be canceled and their bargaining chip will be worthless going into negotiations for next year.

#2333012 Red Wings Off Season: I Give Them an A

Posted by Seraph on 29 October 2012 - 10:08 PM

I think you are being optimistic and there is nothing wrong with that. The fact is that our defense is unproven and it's the first time in a long time that we're going into a season feeling shaky on the back end. You can play various tricks with numbers and stats to convince yourself it's going to be okay, but that's just a more calculated form of optimism. Our off-season acquisitions were not significant enough to make the entire fan base feel equally optimistic, but half the fun is seeing what happens and how we adapt. Though I will say whatever perks you want to cite about signing Samuelsson, Tootoo, and Brunner (bang for buck, etc.) won't mean much if we end up dropping games from our shaky defense. Filling that gap was our top priority that's where I would most heavily weigh the grade. I wouldn't necessarily give us an A, but here's to being proven wrong.
