#2269999 If you Could Change Five Outcomes in Hockey History

Posted by Seraph on 14 March 2012 - 12:39 AM

I didn't dig the last Olympic outcome. I have always been a USA hockey fan and it was so amazing to have tied the gold medal game with only a few seconds left. Then in OT, the Crosby parade ensued and stunk up the party.

EDIT: I have noticed that a lot of us Wings fans did cheer for the Ducks in 03 when they beat us and went to the finals. Kind of a strange phenomenon considering how much we've hated on them more recently after a hard series loss. Maybe it was because everyone was so baffled by Gigure's streak, and no one wanted the Devils to match us in cups. Or maybe we were all mesmerized by the old jerseys and wanted the Disney movie ending. It's kind of awkward thinking back now and remembering that they were quite seriously called, "The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim."

#2267972 Kronwall Destroys Voracek

Posted by Seraph on 07 March 2012 - 01:54 AM

Home boy had his head so far down, he led with it into the hit. And this is a hit he had already looked up and saw coming a second earlier. Kind of ridiculous. Not Kronwall's fault and the head was not specifically targeted. Clean hit. Hope he feels better.

#2267013 Turco signs in Boston

Is it just me, or did Turco fall off the curve pretty sharply? I remember he was considered a top goalie once upon a time, and overnight people started throwing him around like a bag of pucks. Maybe I'm just getting old.

#2264207 Post-TDT: Red Wings stand pat, no additions

Posted by Seraph on 27 February 2012 - 05:34 PM

If a move had happened, you'd all be complaining about how we paid too much for it. This is precisely why Holland didn't pull the trigger on any deals. But now you are complaining about how we made no trades. You can't have it both ways. I'm sure viable offensive options were investigated and found to be suboptimal to the asking price.

Only with the Red Wings would you find fans complaining about the line-up when we're jockeying for first in the league. Have more faith in your boys. It'll be an interesting year, I think.

I love how Z and Franzen have stepped up just like Kane in the absence of a top player. =/

#2249042 Time for my Cleary update.

What the heck? What kind of a person has problems with Cleary?? That's like saying you don't like good hockey.

#2246246 Why don't we have a "JIM-MY JIM-MY!" chant yet?!

I think he prefers "HOW-IE," given he has it on his mask. And I agree. Kid needs the same support from us.

Found out today that I'm moving back to Detroit! Hope it brings us some luck tonight.

That would be some game, for sure. Fingers crossed. Though, what I'm going to probably look forward to more is the 24/7 series on it. That'll be awesome!

#2234939 Jimmy Howard eyes spot in NHL All-Star game

Posted by Seraph on 11 December 2011 - 08:30 PM

Hahaha, this is awesome. Red Wings fans are so dedicated to winning (just like the team itself) that they want to play the strategic move and pull their players from the ASG to rest. I love this place.

#2233259 Realignment decided - 4 Conferences

Posted by Seraph on 06 December 2011 - 02:10 PM

This is absolutely awful. If you watch playoff hockey for the next 20 years, you are going to get sick and tired of seeing the same teams over and over. Think about it.

#2232493 Teams Wings Fear Most In Playoffs?

Posted by Seraph on 04 December 2011 - 10:37 AM

The old Ducks used to pound us pretty hard and we were pretty tattered and injured if we managed to get past them. Probably why we couldn't seal the deal in 2009.

#2230007 Say Goodbye to the C, Z.

Posted by Seraph on 26 November 2011 - 11:46 AM

To be honest, I don't even think Datsyuk would accept the captaincy, probably for a lot of reasons that have been mentioned. I must say that I have been impressed by how Kronwall has carried himself in interviews and such. Z has always been great too. I think he's still being groomed for the C at this point.

#2199673 Chris Osgood announces retirement

Posted by Seraph on 20 July 2011 - 12:18 AM

Here's to you, Ozzie. Since I was in 1st grade, you were our dependable home-town goalie, through thick and thin. A true Red Wing if I ever saw one. Good thing Nick didn't retire this year because that would just be too much to take.

#2185034 SCF: Boston Bruins vs. Vancouver Canucks

Posted by Seraph on 14 June 2011 - 01:36 AM

If Vancouver wins, everyone will know that Luongo did it s***ting the bed at least a few times. He can't feel super good about that.

Go Bruins!!
