Exactly. Fans waste too much time worrying about this sort of stuff. The decision was handed down, it isn't what we wanted but its time to move on and focus on the game at hand tonight. I'm sure the Wings players had already done the same yesterday.

It really doesn't matter what the fans focus on. Just as long as the players have their heads right(assuming Weber doesn't assault them).

I've been increasingly disappointed with Cleary's play as the year went. I felt like I knew it had to be his knees and not just a sudden significant dropoff in production and value. If he's only able to play to 50 percent of his ability, it seems that there might be someone more useful to take his spot while he heals. If it's an injury that needs surgery and isn't going to heal, maybe that provides some insight. But it's been clear to see all season that something was off.

I'd have liked to pick up a scoring forward or Gaustad. We didn't. I don't think the sky is falling.

No one improved vastly from where they were. Hell, I don't think anyone improved anything more than marginally. Sammy Pahlsson? If the players we already have aren't playing well, any additions would not have made a difference anyway.

Protests are stupid.  If you want to change things, get yourself in a position to do something.  Get off your butt and become part of the process that makes the decisions instead of sitting around trying to get attention.

I mean, how idiotic of them to stage something to try to get attention of the people they feel are responsible for ruining their experience as a fan. Some of which who have spent thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars never to see a single playoff win.

You're right. Nevermind the fact that it was a pretty positive "protest" unless you're Scott Howson.

I like when we win. We should do that more often. It also helps when Pavel's putting the puck in the net.

And for a 4th time in 6 years a team from Pennsyltucky is involved.

I would absolutely love for a Red Wings-Blue Jackets matchup at Ohio Stadium, or even at Michigan Stadium.

But I also think the NHL is missing out. Why haven't the Avalanche hosted one yet? Sure their fans have disappeared, but you know they'd pack whatever they call the new Mile High Stadium. Hell, their name refers to a wintry weather phenomenon.

Obviously you're never going to have one in Tampa or Anaheim, but there are cities west of Pittsburgh the NHL should consider once in awhile.

Also, I do get to a point the exclusion of Canadian teams since they have their own Heritage Classic each year now.

I didn't get to see it, only hear the last part of it.  How did they look?  The announcers were saying they were "dominating".  Did anyone get to see it that would comment on this?  Thanks.  

That last play sounded exciting.  I can usually picture audio in my head, but not that one.

To be sure we dominated most of the game and probably should've been up 30 points. We went into prevent defense the last few series which allowed them to move the ball. Cherilus is a monumental idiot. Gave Tampa 30 extra seconds on the clock because of a stupid personal foul.

But on the whole we looked very good. Only gave up one defensive touchdown. Moved the ball at will on offense.

Just need to finish inside the ten yard line and eliminate stupid penalties.

As others have said, the back and forth on the reporting if he was or wasn't on the plane is making this worse.

Hoping he was with his family and was not on the flight.

I hope he comes back. There's nothing better than beating your rival when they have no excuses. If Crosby is gone, I'll lose a lot of hate for the Pens. And it can be just as fun to root against a team as it is to root for a team.

It's hard watching so many players from those 90s teams that made me fall in love with hockey go. Thanks for the memories, Ozzie.

That's how I feel about it. Watching tribute videos today was like watching childhood memories. A lot of my favorite memories growing up were being with my family and going nuts over the Wings. When these players retire, it's as much about those times as anything.

I can go either way on it. Yeah, it's kind of fun and all, but at the same time the Red Wings jersey should be respected and pasting something cheesy and gimmicky on it doesn't excite me. But like I said, I won't be outraged if it does happen.

My favorite Maltby memory was in 2002. It was in Game 5 against the Blues and the Wings were shorthanded. Maltby's stick breaks, but we're being held down in our own zone, so Malts goes on to throw himself all over the ice blocking at least 4 shots and I believe cleared the zone himself. The entire Joe was on their feet screaming, "MALTBY! MALTBY!" at a level that has only been heard before as "STEVIE! STEVIE!".
