Do not trade Larkin

Don't EVER put the words Trade and....

Larkin in the same sentence ever again!!!!

Word on the street is that Wideman is a possible buyout option.

I'd take a side order of Vanek if it came with the main course of Stamkos. I'd also like a side of Okposo with that.

Trade for Trouba or Fowler sign Stamkos sign okposo. Find backup goalie.

If you don't get Stamkos (and I hope they do) 7.5 split up among 2 or 3 other players can add good value

They're going to have $24M to split up amongst our RFA'S and new UFA's. There will be new Red Wings on July 1, I am confident.

Holland should be getting ready to fleece Calgary with Howard and our 4th, for Wideman a 4th and a 5th!

I think Kenny should be shopping for that D-man HARD right now, before July 1.  The more attractive Detroit looks, the more likely we can land Stamkos.

I mean, we have Larkin, AA, Dekeyser, Mrazek, Mantha, we still have (even though he's older and slowing down) one of the best two way players in the NHL in Zetterberg, who can actually be more effective as a 2nd line winger.

I know Holland is pretty loyal, but he can always dangle the "A" out there with the chance of becoming "C" when Z retires.  Holland has to not only make a huge top dollar offer, but he has to make this team look much more attractive than the others.

If we could get a deal done with Stevie for a sign and trade, that would be awesome.  $11M for 8 years, then come up with a nice package deal.

Let us not forget that even though Toronto will have Matthews and Buffalo has Eichel, we have someone named Larkin that just happens to be nearly as good as Eichel. Plus, Stamkos said how much he enjoyed and felt chemistry with him at the all star game. My point is, we have our pluses too that are an attraction.

I am going with the idea that Holland makes this trade after he signs Stamkos. Of course it's a lot to give up with no guarantee. But it wasn't said in the quote that the trade would be made before July 1. As a matter of fact the rest of the quote referred to being after the fact if Stamkos is signed. If we land Stamkos then a 2nd and Nyquist is well worth it.

Howard/Pav/Pulkkinen/Pick for Wideman.

It looks like we lose that trade, but we really win.

If Holland does not trade Pav and Howard, he should be fired.

I know that Holland doesn't want to give away too much in order to clear the contract, but look at it this way, if NOT losing someone like Pulkkinen and a 2nd round pick lets say is more important than not having a chance at Stamkos, then he needs to be fired.

He'll probably be successful in trading Howard, but he won't be able to trade Ericsson, so unless he gets rid of Pavel along with Howard, there is 0 chance at landing Stamkos...or any UFA that will make this team better.

You get one chance to land a player like Stamkos.  Like I said, if keeping Pulkkinen and a pick that may never make the NHL, then he has to go.

Not saying thats the deal, but in order to get the free cap hit, Pulkkinen and a pick is MORE than enough.  If they are talking Mantha or AA, then there better be a prime player coming back.

Pavel - Pulkkinen - Pick is plenty enough for any cap cellar team.  If Holland wont give that up, fire him.  If teams expect more than that, then I guess we're screwed for ANY quality UFA.

Who wants to bet the trade is already set to go? I bet there will be a deal announced by Tuesday.

Let's do this Holland! Your job depends on it!

i believe they are allowed to trade his contract. However they cannot trade the cap hit once they terminate the contract.

Sounds to me like holland is doing datsyuk a favor by terminating the contract so that there are no issues between the NHL and KHL transfer agreements

kind of ridiculous holland would do that for datsyuk considering datsyuk is the one bailing on the contact. or holland is unwilling to pay the price to move the contract to another team

Read the post above yours.

Helm should go, hopefully they offered him something like $3M. We don't need him.

I'd rather keep AA and Mantha all season long.

Again! ( ...and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and ag...)
We somehow gotta convince igor that being an assistant coach is much better than being an agent!
