Not necessarily. None of the team celebrated. A promise to improve the team in areas, some term, and he could be back. I hope he's back or we're in trouble. How do you replace a PPG guy? He can't be angry that Yzerman didn't make any moves at the TDL because he was one of the players saying how much they all love playing together and how they feel they can win with the guys they have. He did mention about who he's playing with. That's a coaching thing. I know you cannot let a player dictate the line mates, but he'll be top 6, maybe get him an upgrade at C if he's not gonna play with Larkin (I suggested Domi before) and keep them together. He seems to like Domi. If Yzerman can unload some cap ( a couple of Fabbri, Holl, Chiarot, Husso, for example) he could seriously upgrade his top 6 by reaching out to Domi and Bertuzzi. Could you imagine that top 6? Bertuzzi-Larkin-Raymond Kane-Domi-DeBrincat Those two lines would have it all. Playmaking, sniper, sandpaper. You'd have a solid bottom 6 anchored by Rasmussen, Compher, Copp (Perron if he returns) Still trade Berggren and a 1st for a serious D upgrade. Like him or not, Chychrun would be a big upgrade. Of course this all depends on clearing enough cap to sign and re-sign the players we need to sign. And maybe Ottawa retaining 50% of Chychrun. Because Domi/Bertuzzi would probably cost about $10-$11M combined, also knowing Seider/Raymond will probably cost $13-$16M combined. It could work if we dumped some of the salary mentioned above. If you could get another $12-$14M in cap avail via trades, it's doable. Fill in the final few spots with kids.

You my be right, but it sounded like if he could get term here, he'd be interested.

We need a MAJOR upgrade to the D, and young. Think 25-28. If we can clear enough cap, and still add Roy, cool, but we have to make our top 4 D a ***** to play against.

Unfortunately (I have been messing with Armchair GM) I cannot get Werenski salary to work, without dumping Chiarot and Holl. Unless we can include Holl in the trade, I just cannot get it to work. I even traded Fabbri and bought out Husso's contract. I re-signed Ghost and Kane in this scenario too. It's just not gonna work. But I agree, we need to go aggressive on trade talent. Like I've said before, this year's and next year's 1st are in play, along with some good young players. We should get some attention.

Trade Berggren, #15, a 2nd to Columbus for Werenski (I bet he'd waive his NMC to come here) and they can draft Adam Jiricek and have the brothers on their team. It would have to wait until the actual pick to see if Jiricek is still on the board, of course

Ok, here is the best we can do, it took me about 25 tries though. 5th is the highest we can climb, and 16th the lowest, which means we'll be drafting 16th. I just wanted to see if we'd actually move up the most possible, and we did, but unfortunately, it's not going to be this simple. The list of prospects above is still the same for McKenzie, he hasn't released the April one yet. IMO, we wait post lottery, then decide if we are going to just draft another player that we won't see for 5 years, or is it time to bundle the 1st and a player(s) to upgrade the D right now.

McKenzie has Zeev at 13 and Jircek at 15.

GDT: 4-16 Montreal Canadians vs Detroit Red Wings

Lyon would still need to clear waivers, right? And the way he played this year, along with his minimal salary, he'd surely get picked up. So, does that mean even if Philly's plan worked and they won in regulation, it wouldn't had mattered because Detroit got a point? They both would've had 90 with us having the tie breaker right? If so, then dang it! The timing couldn't have been worse for them to score that open net goal... -

2 years? That'll be 4 on the books. We need to try and get Chychrun and then a package of Andersson and Markstrom. We can re-sign Reimer as a 3rd string again, he performed admirably last night, and through a lot of games.

I only mention Holl because he's taking up cap and a roster spot. If he's not going to play ever, then get something for him.
-
We'll be drafting 15th. Trade it. Upgrade the ******* D!

What is Keating talking about? How great this team played while down? s***, if they wouldn't had blown 14 points going 0-7, this wouldn't have been even needed tonight.
