We're calling Jurco and Smith offensive guys now? Based on what? Everyone is so good at pointing out the problems with the team without providing any better solution

We can't score so play Smith and Jurco more who also can't score... Rock solid logic

If I recall, when he was in the lineup, Smith did very well for himself last season. If we aren't getting a dman, I say put Smith on the top pair with DD.

Jurco needs to be used correctly. He is an offensive threat. But not on the 4th line with Miller and Glendening. When he was with Sheahan and Tatar he did very well. I'd love to see a line of JURCO-AA-MANTHA.

Will we though?  :brow:

Shhhhhhhhhh!

Everyday I come here and don't see a trade pinned to the top I get more and more sick to my stomach.

I'm a huge Holland critic. But remember before we won in 97? We had a core of young players growing together, learning together. Remember when Yzerman was traded in 94 until Mrs. I put the cabash on it? Remember when we signed aging vets like Bob rouse, Mike Ramsey, acquired a past his prime Mike Vernon, remember trading for a 35 year old igor larionov and a 36 year old fetisov? Remember claiming a 30 year Doug brown off the waiver wire? 35 year old Larry Murphy who seemed to be done after failing miserably in Toronto. How about 32 year old Joe kocur out of the beer league?

You have to grow a core, you have to influx that with vets. Not a big fan of Helm, but he's obviously part of our core...

I wish Holland would make a deal for a D man, but I think he is doing it very similar to the early 90's.

I'll remember Roy for 3 reasons...11 goals, getting his ass kicked, 7 goals.

Having a motivated Nielsen and Vanek has got to be better than an unmotivated Datsyuk. I wish we were giving AA 3rd line minutes though...

Could you imagine this D with both Fowler and Trouba on it for the rest of their careers? Add to that DD and Marchenko? Our D will be set for the next 15 years!

I cant believe I am saying this to you lol! But, why not move Helm down to the 4th line, take out Miller or Ott, and then bring in Mantha?

 I actually thought the speed of both AA and Helm would be deadly...go figure!

Hey, can't do anything about it now, but I'd still like to see the side by side comparison in order to know that we got a good deal. First Jarnkrok, now Gagner, Helm's salary, even if it was only $3M has to be justified by corsi and analytics and advanced something or other...right?

Don't know how to read it, but the blocks look very similar. Helm should be making no more than $700K. Good job kenny.

Right now, I would give all of Nyquist, Jurco, Pulkkinen, Sproul, pick for a legit top defenseman if that's what it would take.

As soon as you start your response with "stupid post" you lose all credibility and nobody really cares what you have to say.

Call me any name in the book in response, I really dont care. I'm not going to engage. All I have to say is that if you want to have logical/rational discussion with posters, dont post like an angry 12 year old. If you are trying to troll, then have fun.

I thought I read this morning that you were going to stop referencing Helm in every thread?
Just because you dont say his, doesnt mean we don't all know who you are talking about lol.

Howard's 5 year deal....but you're right about the other guy too.

everyone being too positive...so ill be the first overpaid. guy fell apart mid season. who knows if he'll ever recover

At least it's only 2 years. He'll either earn more or not. Not like it's 5 years when he's already declining.
