#2633169 10/24 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Canucks 2 (OT)

I know you meant watch tapes of Chris Farley, not bring him in, for obvious reasons...

The 3 guys that scored last night are exactly the guys we need to get rolling.  Z will be Z, Pav will be Pav, Larkin, for all he has already, is only 19 years old.  Tats, Pulk and Gus need to be our gunners, our go to guys, and last night they did it. So happy for them!  I feel bad for Jurco, it seems that when he is in, he does't do too much to keep himself in...sadly, he may be one of those guys that may be moved in some manner.

How did Marchy look last night?

The McCartney story goes that back in the 70's his band, Wings had their concert in Detroit and someone gave him the sticker because it was The Wings and McCartney stuck it to his guitar because of that, unfortunately not because he was a Red Wings fan.  I think the story said he didn't even know what the Red Wings were.  Somewhere out there is a pic of all his back-up box guitars and they all have the Wings logo on them like its some kind of trademark now.  This story could be an urban legend, but either way, its still cool to see our logo on his guitar!

#2631934 Is Dylan Larkin a lock to stay in the NHL beyond 9-games?

Posted by LeftWinger on 19 October 2015 - 06:23 PM

Well with the unfortunate circumstance with Franzen and the slim chance that he will be back with the team permanently, I think IMO its a given, even when Datsyuk gets back that Larkin will stay and they will waive either Ferraro or Andersson.  Even IF Franzen makes it back to this team, I believe the will still keep Larkin and then waive the other one of the two I mentioned.

edit: In honor of 10,000! Franzen, Quincey, Howard, Helm, Hudler, Manny's Father-in-Law, Hossa, Kindl, Mrazek, Holland, Franson, Jensen, Ericsson, Fedorov, Cleary, He Who Shall Not Be Named, conspiracy, Bettman, Sammy, I was RIGHT,  I was WRONG, I told you so, first I liked it, then I hated it, just retire already... ... ... ... ... ... ( I know you love the ...'s)Sheesh, that's THE JUCK f****** POTT right there! I love you all! Goodnight!

The Wings have to get Price pissed! They need to bump him, jab him, talk **** to him, need to go Marchand on him! Wings need to get back to breaking out quick, transition and make their defense play defense! The Habs whole game depends on not having to play strong "D". Got to pressure Subban and Eller and push Emilman around like the puss he is and start shooting!

PP looks pathtic! Better tighten it up because Montreal is going to bring it 3rd period. Have to bet these @$$hats at home! Break them and break Price all in this final period!!

they need to go Reggie Dunlop on him! "Hammerhan! Suzanne sucks *****! I know I know!"

So Marchenko was assigned to GR today per Detroitredwings.com.  Guess DD is about ready to come back.

Ugh, Glenn has an injury? Man, we just cant catch a break!

Anyhow, once again, I won't be able to watch during my commute to Detroit.  But as always GO WINGS! Show this team that last week was a fluke!

Talk about stupid scheduling, tomorrow Montreal game is on at 2pm EST? Going to have some folks turning off the game when MSU/Michigan starts at 3:30.

jfranzen - He ain't dead, wear that jersey with pride! Johan gave his all to this team when he could, he was probably 3rd runner up to the Smythe Trophy in 08 and tried his best thus far this season.  He may make it back, but he will stay away until he knows its right.  He probably rushed it a bit this time, considering that doctors had said he wasn't 100% good, but could give it a go.  Next time I bet he waits for docs to give him the 100% A OK to go, if that comes, then cool, it helps the team, if that day never comes, then fine, that also helps the team and saves him from worsening his head issues...

Franzen also said in an interview that if he gets his symptons back, he feels that could be a career for him.  Precautionary is good though.  Like I said, he actually looked like he belonged out there, he definitely did not hurt the team, he wasn't floating and had some good scoring chances.  BUT if his symptoms come back from just over exertion, can you imagine what will happen if he gets rocked one night? He is a smart person, he will stay away until he feels the same as he did at the end of summer, for his sake, lets hope it doesn't take another 6 months, or he could very well, be done.

on a side note, I am sure glad I didn't start or name this thread! I'd be getting destroyed right now! (rightly so, I might add! I would deserve it!)

Well at least the NHL set the precedence already with Pronger.  If needed, Franzen could go on LTIR, still get his money from his contract PLUS take a job within the organization and get paid, right? Good for one, good for all?

....as Cleary waits patiently (or impatiently) by the phone... I sit around and watch the phone, but no one's calling...call me pathetic, call me what you will, my mother says to get a job, but she don't like the one she's got...etc...etc...

I guess the fat lady is singing on his career.  Again, I am glad he tried. Really, I am. But I can't say the I'm surprised...

Well, the old me would have said something here, but I am just going to say, you gave it your best try Franzen, you actually looked like you belonged on the ice again.  I have to say, a lot of us saw this coming, lets just be glad he tried and also we didn't lose anyone to waivers either.  Moving forward this should be a great opportunity for Pulk or Jurco to come in and steal a permanent spot!

What is with Helm? Was it just a shoulder injury or was there concussion symptoms as well? I honestly forgot...

 just for the record I meant to say Z isn't going to get 191 points, he just may get to 90 if he stays healthy. Silly sticky keyboard!
