Smith can't be any worse than Salei or Ericsson

#2189058 Rumor: Wings in play for Bobrovsky

Posted by Rivalred on 24 June 2011 - 07:14 PM

Yea, trading one of the league's best goalscorers would be a great move for Yzerman.

Stevie doesn't know what he is doing, I mean Tampa only got to the ECF within the first year of him taking charge.

Might as well try another approach

You know the philosophy, Stanley Cup or Bust...

#2189053 Rumor: Wings in play for Bobrovsky

Posted by Rivalred on 24 June 2011 - 07:04 PM

Why wouldn't the Flyers keep Bobrovsky for a few years and let him develop under fellow Russian Bryzgalov's wing and up his value for a future trade?

I don't even know why this thread is posted in this section...

If we think about this logically, the in the last 15+ years the Wings have always went out and signed a goalie a little more seasoned and experienced...

Go to Russia, half way though next year, will want to play for the NHL again, Wings will sign him, he will be put on waivers, NYI will pick him up, and he will refuse to play/report to NYI.

I would like to personally thank the Blues and all the Blues Fans for that overwhelming victory.

I hope that defeat will spark the Wing's ambition and create that hunger that has been lacking.

And finally, it initiated the return of the "great avatar" in which there will be a renaissance of revolution

#2138260 In Defense of Joey Mac

Posted by Rivalred on 29 March 2011 - 07:08 PM

Look at it this way - before last night's game, Joey Mac hadn't given up a goal in regulation in the past four games he played. The only goals he did allow? Shootout. That's it.

He has been playing lights out and the D hung him out to dry a few times last night.

#2136039 Congratulations to Chris Osgood

I wonder if this is how he hurt his groin in the 1st place? I kid, I kid...

Congrats to the Ozzie Family!

By the way, Max Power!!!

Wings need some tiger blood. One gear, go! Need to be bi-winning, win here, win there, win-win everywhere.

#2134845 will the wings re-sign modano?

Posted by Rivalred on 23 March 2011 - 09:10 AM

I like MoDo, but financially it is time to part ways. We really need a few guys who can win face-offs and put up 40 pts a year.

I expect to see this next season:

C: Lidstrom
A: Henrik
A: Pavel

Does anyone really want to disagree with this?

How does this one do?

Was on the phone with another LGWer when the Wings were playing Buffalo and I did mention a few things...

1. Rafalski has been a big liability and things have looked tighter since he has been out

2. I am not sold on Salei, I firmly believe another D could of been had and been more of a stay at home / clear the crease / block shot D-Man

3. Still on the fence with Howard... When he is on, he is stellar, but when he is cold, ear muffs / cover eyes - he gives up some juicy-juicy rebounds, hoping the more experience he gets + working with a goalie coach, he smothers them up. That was one up swing with Nabby, the man smothers rebounds and gives very little... Wish Howard would do the same

4. Miller is solid and really hope we keep him around... Good on the PK and chips in from time to time... I really think he could be utilized like Dandy was, use him on D here and there

5. Kindl has had made rookie mistakes, be the last few games he has really been coming around; believe he is starting to get more comfortable/confidence and it is showing
