#2200001 Red Wings sign Ty Conklin to 1 year contract

Posted by Jedi on 20 July 2011 - 11:51 PM

Considering that Emery and Turco are the only other options left, I would have to say "do want"...

But since a picture is worth a thousand words...

#2186290 Congrats to Timmy Thomas

Easiest Conn Smythe pick since Zetterberg, if not farther back. He was absolutely lights out, and is well deserving of the playoff MVP nod. 8 goals in the final 8 games? Unbelievable.

Congrats to Tim!

#2186287 No, No, NO! Jagr interested in Detroit.

if jagr is signing then my guess is lids will resign

"Resign" or "re-sign"? Pretty key difference there.

As far as Jagr. No thanks, says I. While he is usually solid holding onto the puck (usually), he never was as strong a two-way player as our system needs. If he's literally the only option we have, I suppose I would take him. But I wouldn't be too happy about it.

#2179214 A new Wings fan has arrived! First round pick, 2030?

Please allow me to introduce you to (hopefully) the Wings first round pick in 2030!

My girlfriend and I are expecting a bundle of joy on November 10th. The doctors and sonogram technicians are fairly sure it's a boy, but they couldn't be 100% certain. My whole opinion is very cliche, in that I'm just hoping for "10 fingers and 10 toes", but it's true. I'll take healthy first, anything else after that. Thankfully, everything appears to be normal, and the doctors think that the baby is completely healthy!

We've known since March that we were going to become parents, but I can tell you it REALLY hit me yesterday seeing everything on that monitor. And trust me, I'm planning on raising this child right, in that he/she will be a Red Wings fan!

#2177502 Brad McCrimmon will not return for 2011/2012

Hey everyone, let's try and keep this thread on topic. Discussions about possible free agent signings and/or trades should be kept in their appropriate threads.

Let's keep this thread open for discussion about the coaching change, and possible replacements for McCrimmon's now-vacant spot.

There is no word in the English language to describe the sheer joy and jubilation that this news has brought me.

Happy day, indeed.

Combination gritty and pretty win. Lots of things to take as positives from this game.

Good to see the Wings continue to compete even after Heatley tied the game. Would have been easy for doubt to start creeping in. Leave it to the fearless Darren Helm to give hope to the Hockeytown faithful.

#2167054 Bring back the minus rating!

I apologize if I've missed a topic that didn't belong in GD - it's something I try to stay on top of. Matt likes the forums organized.

Yes, we do miss things sometimes, but if you tell anyone I said that, I'll deny it.

This. We do our best, but it's inevitable that there will be times when the Mods aren't here, and may miss a thread in the wrong area. Just like regular LGW members, we have jobs, families, lives, etc away from this Forum.

As far as the +/- system... I'm indifferent. I like the - capability, as it can let members voice disagreement without having to spend alot of time working out a long detailed response (perfect for us lazy mods). However, it's a system that already has a reputation for abuse.

We're a pretty democratic bunch, though. If one mod isn't sure about something, they'll put it to the rest of us and get a consensus.

Complete with filibustering, lobbying, bribes, public service announcements, crying, extortion, mud-slinging, whining, broken promises... And that's just NeverForgetMac25...
