#1992149 SCF Game Two GDT

Posted by Jedi on 31 May 2010 - 11:59 PM

This topic of conversation is getting WAY too personal.

You may not agree with people's decision to cheer for one team over the other in this series, but some of the posts here are getting out of hand. If you don't agree with another member's choice or reason in who they're cheering for, that's fine. But responding in the manner that I've seen the last few pages have been childish at the least, and bordering on the edge of breaking the Forum Rules at the worst.

Keep the discussions civil please. Either agree, or disagree, but at least give other members the common courtesy of respecting the decisions that they have made and move on.

#1988237 Whats the record in the NHL

With a different team, I wouldn't know where to begin.

But I believe the overall record for most consecutive is 5 straight, held by 12 different players, all from the Canadiens.

Jean Beliveau, Bernie Geoffrion, Doug Harvey, Tom Johnson, Don Marshall, Dickie Moore, Jacques Plante, Claude Provost, Henri Richard, "Rocket" Richard, Jean-Guy Talbot and Bob Turner were with the Habs when they won the cup 5 times in a row, 1955/1956 to 1959/1960, which is still the longest Cup winning streak in NHL history.

So, if nothing else, Hossa would have to make it this year plus the next two just to tie that streak.

I'm indifferent to this series (SJ-CHI). Let it go 7 games, with each game going to 3 or 4 OT's for all I care. Let these guys beat each other up and wear each other out.

I can't bring myself to cheer for a division rival, so I can clearly not cheer for Chicago.

I can't bring myself to cheer for the team that knocked us out, so I can clearly not cheer for San Jose.

It's like a battle of wits...

There's going to be a new Stanley Cup Champion this year! I love it!

I love how everyone is surprised that the Penguins are held to the same standards as the rest of the teams.

The whining here saddens me.

Like when the Pens had 6 guys on the ice vs. Detroit, for 20 or so seconds, and the linesman actually told the Penguins player that he needed to get off the ice instead of call the penalty? Is that the "same standard" that you're referring to?

GIONTA!!! You could hear a pin drop in Mellon Arena!

I don't understand how anyone could think this was a good season. There's no such thing as a good season unless the Wings win it all.

Considering we were at a 36% chance to make the playoffs with less than a quarter of the regular season to go?

I'm disappointed that we didn't move on, but to say that this wasn't a good season is trying to make a situation black and white when there's all kinds of other colors out there.

#1981320 Thanks for the Great Season, Detroit!

Considering that we were at something like 36% to make the playoffs two months ago... Making it as far as we have is something spectacular.

I couldn't be prouder of my Detroit Red Wings. Could not be prouder.

Thanks for a great season Detroit!!

why are the refs trying so hard to stop fights in the post season?

You'd rather SJ have free reign to goon it up with the game spiraling out of hand for them?

I think the refs made the right move with that decision.

Ray Ferraro just made an interesting point on TSN. The officials have told both benches that the first guy mixing it up in scrums is going to get a penalty, and that's it. Only one penalty, and it's to the guy who starts it.

Interesting way to regulate the after-the-play-nastiness.

I guess your a "big" man cause you can swear like a big man on the internet.

Does that same logic apply to people telling other people to go running into busy intersections on the internet?

They're saying the shot Howard stopped without the mask would have counted had it gone in? Why?

Because it's the NHL. Logic and Reason aren't words in their vocabulary.
