I'm not watching it either. I guess Bettman still hasn't realized Crosby isn't liked outside Pittsburgh and some parts of Canada. Man the NHL is stubborn and doesn't know how to market themselves properly! Cash in on the USA Olympic Team's success and the Chicago-Philly Stanley Cup Final you morons, quit this Crosby crap already!

Can't blame NJ for trying.The Devils were basically daring the league to stop this deal and lost.
Aside from signing a player until he's 44, this part is pretty ridiculous too:Kovalchuk was slated to earn $95 million over the first 10 years of the deal and then just $7 million over the last seven seasons.
That's pretty obvious they were trying to reduce the cap hit.

I'd rather have Maltby than Modano. With Modano I'm sure the team would feel pressure to at least give him 3rd line minutes. Maltby can play 8-10 minutes or can be a healthy scratch without complaints.

I laugh when I hear Brian Burke says he doesn't want to bottom out and rebuild through the draft. Second year in a row a team that bottomed out won the cup in less than 5 years.

Oh, it would be worth it to hear the Flyers fans react to that one!I'm just glad it's not Bettman's little baby boy.
Of course, watch him somehow win the Conn Smythe.
Actually I was thinking they should chant "Crosby Sucks" when Bettman's out there.
