#2176528 Subliminal Sidney Crosby Messages in NHL commercials?

Posted by Barrie on 17 May 2011 - 03:26 PM

There's some people in the Toronto media that think Crosby's done. Apparently he's stopped skating because of headaches.

This is why Red Wings fans have the rep they have. You sound like the French: "We have a great culture, you culture-less americans! We were great when you didn't exist! Bah! You beat us, but we were more stylish! We are the real winners!"

Red wings fans are the "France" of the NHL it seems :/ Why can't you just admit you got beaten by a better team two years in a row?

Thank you, original poster. At least you show that some red wings fans are classy.

Dude, Red Wings message board, what do you expect?

See this is why I wasn't to happy our board and the Sharks board tired to be friends before the start of the series and encouraged each other to post on each other's boards. Sure there's classy people who came over for the series, but it opens it up for stuff like this.

Not my decisions, so whatever.

I hope the Canucks roll the Sharks like the Hawks did last year.

Nothing would delight me more than to see Thornton miss out on another shot at the cup.

I hate to say it, but I think this is San Jose's year. We had problems at times generating offense against them because of their size. With the way the Sedin's are playing, I don't think Vancouver has a chance.

I heard a good joke today:

The Sharks decided to celebrate their series victory at Joe Thornton's house because his pool has the best diving board and he serves the cheapest shots.

Edit: Despite sharing that joke, just for the record, I'm ok with the loss, unlike last year and in 2009. I'm not bitter, and I don't think we were screwed. I think we were beat fair and square.

Full credit to San Jose for bouncing back, and full credit to the refs for not being confused between a dive and a real penalty.

#2175084 Our last playoff berth?

I highly doubt we're going to the East. We're the biggest draw on the road in the League. Bettman needs us in the West to fill the building in his bad markets. I'd bet money Columbus is going East before us.

You people with your Datsyuk vs. Zetterberg stuff  . I consider myself more of a Zetterberg fan over Datsyuk, but a few years ago told myself not to pick sides, I don't want this to turn into another Yzerman vs. Fedorov thing like we had in the 1990's.

They're both on our team, and both are awesome!

They interviewed Fisher after the game and he said he would've kissed her if it wasn't such a serious game.

I like that reply by Fischer.

I also like the green guys in Vancouver. Sports is fun, and that's fun. More teams should have fans like that. I think if I was a player, I'd have something planned for them if I got a penalty.

#2172623 Thornton slash on Z

Thornton's been an embarrassment the last two games. In two games where his team can eliminate the Wings and move to the Western Conference Finals, he's diving, hitting Datsyuk after the end of a period, and going after Zetterberg. San Jose has hit the panic button. Niemi will be the only Shark composed enough to play Game 7, just because he's been there before. To bad for him, but great for us, his team will let him down.

Edit: I'm expecting more thuggery from San Jose tomorrow night. I just hope everyone on the Wings stays safe.

Thornton is a poor excuse for a captain, i dont' care if they win the series or win the cup. He's pathetic.

It really bothers me that he wears #19, he doesn't deserve it.

*Waiting for someone to bring up Cindy* :P

Thornton is 10X worse than Cindy. Cindy's just annoying.

I love it! Big win in San Jose! You have to think this could rattle some of the biggest playoff chokers in sports history, they can't put us away! What's going through Joe's mind? All their dives aren't leading to Power Plays like last year. Also where's Marleau been this series?

The Joe's gonna be rocking Tuesday night! I'm wondering if Niemi is due for a bad game in Game 6?

It worked after Game 4, so I'll post this again after Game 5. The boys are staying alive!

This seems fitting for tonight. 1 win down, 3 to go.

PP goals aren't very impressive, especially when they are gained through soccer tactics.

And notice it's the North Americans using soccer tactics, not the Europeans. That puts to bed any argument Don Cherry and other Canadians think that it's only the Europeans who dive.

What we need to do is go into the 3rd period behind a goal. Penalties never get called against teams behind.

Tough to win when you have to kill 5 penalties in a row. SJ got that game handed to them on a silver platter. They better thank the NHL officials for that win. The only way we'll see fair and consistent officiating is if they use robots. If they're letting stuff go early, it should be the same through out the game.

Overall I thought we played a great road game. All we have to do is win Game 2, which I think we can, and we're fine.
