Practice man, practice. We're talking about practice here man, not the real game, but practice. :)

Edit:

A.I. can do it better than I can

#2035340 New Blank Red Wings Jersey

Posted by Barrie on 22 September 2010 - 04:05 PM

This is the problem with the new generation, no respect for adults. Yes Draper and Maltby are falling fast, but what you fail to realize is the thing that makes this team what it is, is loyalty to veteran players, you take care of them as long as you can and they take care of you, it's why we don't have contract hold outs, it's why our players defer salary. I have several jerseys with retired or aging players, I also have several with new players or prime players. The point is, to say Maltby is in the twilight of his career, and that he won't be around much longer if at all is one thing, to laugh at a person for suggesting they wear his jersey, and saying "he needs" to retire is something entirely different. Have some respect for the players that helped mold the Red Wings into what they are today, because Draper and Maltby were both a big part of that.

Right. I'm not interested in getting a jersey of someone who could be here a while, and who could be a great player. When it comes to a jersey, I want someone on the back who you could wear to a game 50 years from now and people know exactly who they are. Depending on their age, they either have instant memories, or remember the stories they've heard or things they've watched.

Last year I bought one of those Granderson Tigers jersey t-shirts and already it's unwearable because of his trade to the Yankees. Good thing I didn't buy an actual jersey!

#2033078 Hudler is officially back

Welcome back Huds, I'll never forget the time during warmups (08-09 season), while standing in the corner behind the glass and watching Ozzie, you fired the puck at my face. You would have hit me square in the nose if it wasn't for the glass!

#2032512 Stanley Cup Predictions

I love how a Penguins fan comes to a Red Wings board and then somehow acts suprised when Red Wings fans defend/hype their team.

Bring back the negative ratings!

#2031668 I've Never Wached Game 7 of the 2009 SCF...

Posted by Barrie on 07 September 2010 - 10:06 PM

I'm just wondering who here is old enough to be a Wings fan, or remember, before 1997? 2009 was bad, but as a fan since the late 1980's, it wasn't the worst for me. 1994, 1995, and 1996 was much worse.

After winning the cup, playoff defeats, for me, were easier to take.

This could very well be the intent.

And I think those two deserve it.

#3 gives me chills every time!

I'd like to see a list sometime of the most important goals, not just the prettiest. DMac's would be there, along with Kozlov's OT GWG from the 1995 WFC, Yzerman's OT GWG Game 7 1996 vs. St.Louis, Shanny's empty netter Game 6 1997 WFC, Draper's OT winner in the 1998 Final, Larionov's OT GWG Game 3 2002, Shanny's EN Game 5 2002 Final, the Turd Goal (Zetterberg's) in the 2008 Final, and the OT GWG's in the 2009 WCF by Samuelsson and Helm.

There's 10 off the top of my head! Man, we've seen a lot of great moment!

#2025368 NHL examining other long term contracts

Posted by Barrie on 11 August 2010 - 10:20 PM

I guess Bettman is trying for a 0% approval rating. How much more can this guy be hated? If he starts voiding Luongo, Hossa, Savard, and Pronger deals, and even try's the Zetterberg, Franzen, Lecavalier, etc. ones he should seriously watch his back and keep his public appearances to a minimum. Seriously how much more until some crazed fan try's to take him out?

First of all he pissed of the PA with the cap, now he'll piss of owners if they lose their top stars. What a mess! It's time to show Bettman (I think his days are becoming numbered) the door and go with a more sensible Luxury Cap system.

#2019862 I'm Boycotting the Winter Classic...

Posted by Barrie on 27 July 2010 - 08:45 PM

I'm not watching it either. I guess Bettman still hasn't realized Crosby isn't liked outside Pittsburgh and some parts of Canada. Man the NHL is stubborn and doesn't know how to market themselves properly! Cash in on the USA Olympic Team's success and the Chicago-Philly Stanley Cup Final you morons, quit this Crosby crap already!

#2017532 NHL Rejects Kovalchuk's Contract

Posted by Barrie on 20 July 2010 - 09:13 PM

The Devils were basically daring the league to stop this deal and lost.

Aside from signing a player until he's 44, this part is pretty ridiculous too:

Kovalchuk was slated to earn $95 million over the first 10 years of the deal and then just $7 million over the last seven seasons.

That's pretty obvious they were trying to reduce the cap hit.

Can't blame NJ for trying.
