#2083394 So who remembers the 85-86 season?

Posted by HOCKEY MATTERS on 23 December 2010 - 09:18 AM

Before my time as a Wings fan, but 17-57-6? 415 goals against?????

I remember.....
when the mouse hovers over the link, the nerve endings in my hand begin to burn and that sick feeling begins to rise from my stomach......
I'll need therapy again if I click it......

I hope the boys aren't lazy. And I especially hope they don't suck.

Prediction:
Wings win 4-2 (3-2 in the 3rd and an empty netter)
I get an "A" on my final exam tonite.
(i hope i'm not lazy and don't suck)

#2075188 How stupid is this KHL-team?

What happened to the goalie there? He acted like he was shot when the other guy touched his helmet.

Crosby is his mentor.

#2070768 LGW's favorite player slewfoots Callahan

Super cheap slew foot by Crosby. I'm surprised he didn't get called for it. Would love for someone to tear him a new one.

Finally got to see the video (thanks Doc). I'm not surprised he didn't get called for it. Crosby is a disgrace to hockey and is a terrible captain. The example he sets is deplorable.

#2067356 Watching old games, thoughts on hitting & where it's headed

hockey is getting soft, by reading through this thread, so are the fans. Keep your head up, know who's on the ice, or pay the price. Hockey 101.

This.

Seems funny to me that sometimes, when there are multiple players who see the jaw rattling hit about to happen....I don't notice any players on the same team screaming something like.....
HEY, LOOK UP! YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET CREAMED!! just sayin'.

#2061361 Is the economy in Detroit really THAT bad?

Posted by HOCKEY MATTERS on 11 November 2010 - 01:12 PM

Thank Goooooood I'm not living in Detroit. No offense. It just seems like an all around pretty 'dirty' city.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume you are trying to be "cute" or "funny". Your post is very offensive, whether you meant it to be or not. Since it "seems" to you like an all around dirty city, I will assume that you have never been here. Think about what you typed. Thank God?! Seriously....God?! You "seem" like a s***ty kind of person to be so rude. This is our home. I am fairly certain that everyone's home has it's flaws and embarrassments, including yours. Feel free to bash us, but please stay away from our "dirty" home. We only want real people with some class playing here in our dirt.

Just got back from the game. How disappointing. I'd like to rag on Ozzie for a couple of beachballs, but I have to rag on the whole team more. They were really lethargic. Too much time off probably played a part, but the boys just didn't seem like they were very fired up. On a side note, there were some extremely drunk folks in front of us. Not obnoxious, but funny as hell.

You mean to tell me that in a wave of euphoria captaining your first NHL Stanley Cup you would say "oh no thanks, can't forget that handshake line, even though I don't know how long that interview is"?

Give me a break.

I would. I would be with my team. I would be honoring the opponent my team just battled for the Cup. I would be thinking that my place is on the ice. To think otherwise would make me a childish, selfish attention *****. IMHO.

Crosby is the first player to be asked for an interview before the handshake line.

And my point still is: he chose the interview. Respect.

In that situation there were not media surrounding the players immediately after the win. Chelios did it as a Wing, but he didn't even try to shake the player's hands, he just walked off the ice. Crosby at least tried to get their after his interview.

It was wrong of him, but it's not like he is checking players from behind like Ovechkin...

/crosbydefense off

And this is my point. Back in the day, the game, the opponent you just defeated (in their own barn?), the playoff tradition of handshaking....all were more important than an interview, which can happen any time after honoring what just happened on the ice. Syndii didn't respect that.

You mean accepting af****** interview?

Jesus H Christoph some of you people need to get over it and stop accusing Crosby for foul play whenever you see fit.

Sorry, getting over it is never gonna happen. I can't and will never respect a daisey that thinks ******* punching is considered proper etiquette in a fight. A grown man that wears the "C" and acts like a child deserves to be treated mercilessly. Doesn't matter if he is, in fact, a highly skilled player. ******-nozzles only go in 2 places. Respect that.

OT...I'm older than a lot of you. The game has changed, just like the world has changed. There was much more respect for others back then. I'm not judging or complaining, just stating the truth as I have seen it.

#2052055 The Third Line

Posted by HOCKEY MATTERS on 24 October 2010 - 08:20 AM

this is just hilarious.we've been all complaining about depth scoring and now it seems we don't need it with 1,2 and 4th line playing like this.

I'd just call our 3rd line "the Sleepers",cause once when they wake up,this team would be even more scary :hehe:

plus 1 muchacho. And they will wake up.
