for all Maltby-haters:

:champs: :champs: :champs: :champs:

great career and huge thanks for years in service :showoff:
here's for new life outside of playing hockey. have more time with the family
and enjoy your other hobbies more than before :beerbuddy:

#2044590 Hjalmarsson Cheap Shot on Jason Pominville

Posted by akustyk on 12 October 2010 - 07:59 AM

no point for discussion to me. Pominville had no chance to see the guy coming and
was in vulnerable position. there's no discussion as to whether Hjalmarsson did this
on purpose. he did it.

and just to remind: league is supposed to be discouraging players from unnecessary
(and it was not like Hjalmarsson was finishing something) checks of vulnerable guys.
here we have a perfect example of guy knowingly targeting defenseless guy.
5 + game is perfectly just. whether this is subject to suspension... I don't recall
Hjalmarsson being repetitive offender so he gets the benefit of the doubt but if
he continues doing stuff like that, I'd rather see the NHL give him a game or two.

#2007259 Rod Brind'Amour retiring

Mike Ricci long gone, and now Rob Brind'Amour retiring...

jesus... there's no real churro left in this league... :)

congrats to a great career! perhaps not a Hall of Fame, but sure bet worth admiration.

#1998027 Would you want Byfuglien?

absolutely yes. he's a clutch playoff performer, great team guy and a good pest to have.

what's not to like, huh?

#1988816 The Curse of Marian Hossa

as much as I admire Flyers run, it still pains me to think this retarded franchise wins a cup.
and I actually want Hossa to lift the cup finally. he's a great guy and I most certainly wish
him to win the grand prize at last.

it is a little bit pity, though, to see yet another "suck for a number of years and collect high picks"
team succeed and I'd like the league to reconsider draft lottery should the Blackhawks win this year.
I didn't like it for years, because it's artificial parity and plain and simply unfair to good GMs.
but now with (likely) 2 champs winning the cup thanks to years of sucking and having high picks - maybe
the NHL will finally realize this is not parity but giving unfair advantage to bad teams. because
it's not like the Penguins of 2004 or Blackhawks 2006 were so bad to finish at the bottom of the
standings. they did it very much on purpose. and that's unfair

the annual NHL "Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby Crosby" showcase game?

no, thanks... not gonna watch.

#1921480 Penguins bashing thread(keep it within the site rules please)

Posted by akustyk on 22 March 2010 - 08:19 AM

I think making these kinda threads just shows that people are jealous. Just like the threads and stuff Blackhawks fans do about Red Wings.

then again... we all watched 2008 playoffs and saw Gary's TV pals doing wonders to sell Cindy as 3rd coming of Jesus Christ
(Mario Lemieux being the 2nd - and it sure is a coincidence :D ) and pretend it's not like he got his ass handed...

I'm not jealous of Penguins but kinda disgusted how they're shoved into fans throats who believe Sindy Crosby came to rescue
Canada and entire World from doom and gloom. it's not his nor Penguins fault but it sure does influence my perception of this

good team? definitely. deserved winner? likely. am I glad when they lose and Pierre's or Emricks need to eat their crow? always :)
