#1981716 We got more out of you thread.....

Posted by RedWingAbner on 09 May 2010 - 12:29 AM

There are several players on the team this year that did more than I expected they would.
Helm, for one, showed that his ability to rag the puck is spectacular--not just something that was a one-off
Eaves did a great job in his role. It was unfortunate he was out for the last few games.

Miller was an awesome pickup and cheap. I'd like him to be back, if he can be signed for $600K or so
Osgood did impress me with his ability to put his pride on the shelf. Not much with his play.
Did anyone think that Justin Abdelkader would provide the spark that he did? I knew he was a good role guy, but he impressed

I think that overall, the Wings have a decent core of depth guys.
Supposing that we can retain the above, I think that we have only to fill in some secondary scoring roles.

Any mention of this topic would be remiss without mentioning Nick Lidstrom. Odd as it sounds, he did step it up in the playoffs.

For me, there were just several guys that I had pegged one way that did much more.
Anyone that comes to mind for anyone else? Jimmy Howard would be another guy. I know I'm rambling a bit.
Goodnight all! Hope that this is not seen as an offensive thread. Good season Wings.

Control your language, I know it is hard to have class, but fake it.

What I'm talking about is the bump on Nabokov, and the high stick in the face to Huskins that lead to the Wings goal. If you can't beat them honestly, cheat.

Again guys, let's not feed this troll. That way, we can get back to watching the hockey game and he can get back to masturbating in his mom's basement.

And YOU are an illiterate moron. The word is "you're" not "your"

Guys, let's not feed trolls like this.

#1973749 Strange Feeling...

Posted by RedWingAbner on 04 May 2010 - 03:16 PM

$10 says the Wings get something near 7 powerplays, including 1 extended 5-on-3, to the Sharks 3 powerplays, which are only called after blatant infractions.

f*** the NHL.

#1971611 WCSF Game 2 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Sharks 4

Posted by RedWingAbner on 02 May 2010 - 09:57 PM

The exact same game as you. Both teams got tagged with phantom calls all night long. The Refs could have called several hours worth of interference calls on both teams.

Either way, I expect you guy's (who probably have more appreciation for the game then lower half of the league combined) to give credit where it is due. Sharks outplayed the Wings tonight, pretty much across the board.

Sorry pal, no one is going to give it to the Wings simply because they have always been good and the Sharks have always choked. The Sharks have taken it to the Wings so far this series. Man up and deal with it.

Can we please ban this moron? TROLL.

In my 25 years of life, I've never seen a more embarrassing officiating display. What the f*** is going on? What the f*** is going the f*** on?

#1970403 Crosby the greatest?

Posted by RedWingAbner on 02 May 2010 - 07:12 PM

Iam saying iam tired of the Crosby sucks thread when it is clear he is the best player in the NHL.

Umm, have you SEEN Brett Lebda play? He makes everyone around him better. Never mind that the most direct benefit comes to his opponents.

In all seriousness, sorry friend. Crosby is not as good as Ovechkin.

This is the first I've heard someone complaining about Crosby being over-hyped. This discussion should be fresh and enlightening.

I'm sorry, I didn't know there were so many humanitarians on here. I know that's not how even Penguins fan behaves (obviously). Take a joke.

#1946559 Official "I was wrong on Filppula" Thread

Posted by RedWingAbner on 16 April 2010 - 11:52 PM

I am man enough to admit that I was wrong on Valterri Filppula. He played an excellent game tonight and, with consistent 2nd line time, is really a nice player.

I know I'm in the minority, but this is the kind of low-class idiocy that makes society look worse every day. Here you have two guys famous for being nothing more than asses. It's not even creative.

#1927153 Valtteri Filppula appreciation

Posted by RedWingAbner on 28 March 2010 - 01:23 PM

I have to give Filppula credit for his play recently. If he can keep playing as he has been, I will admit I was completely wrong on him.

Not yet fully convinced, but getting there.

#1916397 Hudler and Dynamo Moscow out in first round of playoffs

Posted by RedWingAbner on 15 March 2010 - 05:51 PM

Oh right... like FIlppula could ever win a series by himself... well maybe if he had Andrew Ladd on his team.

Filppula has the potential to:

1. Be the greatest Swedish player ever (I know he's Finnish. Limiting him to one country is an obvious mistake made by people who can't see his talent.)

2. Win the Stanley Cup single-handedly (Screw the KHL playoffs).

3. Be the Messiah awaited by the Jews.

4. Go back in time to kill Hitler.

Anyone who doesn't see this is a moron.
