#1996810 Bertuzzi offered 2 year deal

Isn't Rafalski a one-dimensional player? He certainly doesn't play defense. How about Ericsson, zero dimensions?

If you want Lilja back, just say it, I don't think you need an essay to justify your viewpoint that we don't need any tough defensemen.

He's also bar-none one of the worst offensive and puck-moving defensemen in the league. He has absolutely no offensive upside whatsoever.

Awesome, sounds like the perfect 6th defensemen to me. We pay Lidstrom and Rafalski $12 million+ to be soft and use their brains, it'd be nice to have a guy with a different purpose.

#1996237 Trade Cleary?

All I know is that Cleary better have a beastly season or there will be no excuses at this time next year.

Exelby for $1.2 million would be a pretty entertaining replacement for Lilja. He might actually motivate Kronwall to start hitting again.

Chicago is a team full of Prongers as far as Wings fans should be concerned. Wishing they'd win a Cup is like cheering for the Avalanche!

Seriously, Wings fans cannot root for Chicago, check your contracts :)

#1994195 Holmstrom signs 2 year extension

Posted by Mors on 04 June 2010 - 08:41 AM

Really dont understand why people are fixated on signing that ***** Tanguay, aside from being an ex-Avs ******, he made $2.5 million last season and put up 37 points. What a bargain?

#1993210 If you could only sign ONE guy

Posted by Mors on 02 June 2010 - 04:17 PM

Bertuzzi is not a top6 player in 2010.. this isn't 2004.

Guess you missed last season and the playoffs? 4th highest scoring offensive player on the team.

#1992696 Pronger the Puck Thief

If he wasn't stealing them from the Blackhawks I might care.

EDIT: Even better, love the quote

"Where's the puck, Pronger was asked.

"It's in the garbage," Pronger replied. "Where it belongs."

He could have taken 8 million too.

If he got that offer, he should take it. For $8 million he's replaceable at this point in his career.

Add me to the list of "crazy" people that don't think $6 million is an adequate discount considering the amount of money Lidstrom has made in his career and the cap situation with the team. He could have easily taken $5 million and it would have had no effect on his family or his lifestyle.

#1989878 Red Wings patiently waiting for Lidstrom's decision

Hudler may not have Helm's hustle or Zetterberg's defense, but he works hard and is above average defensively, neither of which can be said of Bertuzzi. He's also more than a decade younger and a better offensive player. He fits the Wings' system better as well.

Just FYI.

Hudler is above average defensively? Hudler works hard? I'm sure you'll provide some miraculous stats to prove these opinions. Hudler is not a two-way player in any shape or form, and he disappears against bigger, faster teams (because he absolutely cannot out-muscle anyone in this league).

Just FYI.

i don't think thats it at all. i think most people that are down on bertuzzi just get frustrated by the penalties, the lack of hustle, the lack of consistency, the lack of defense, etc...

with that said, i think most people ended up satisfied with the season he put in. personally i was worried as i think he was pretty bad for calgary the year before despite the point total he ended up with. i think this year he was looking very similar to that player through the first few months.

like i said though, i think people realize he isn't going to get 90-100 points each season like he once did; i think many folks just think his negatives outweigh his positives. hopefully if they bring him back he can have another year like this one as i think overall it was pretty good.

Those are all traits that apply to Hudler yet people have been pretty high on him around here since word of his return.

#1979875 Tomas Kopecky

Posted by Mors on 08 May 2010 - 11:47 AM

Chicago gets Kopecky for $1.2 million = 21 points, 4 in the playoffs
Detroit gets Bertuzzi for $1.5 million = 44 points, 10 in the playoffs

Easy decision.

Kopecky is a joke, I like how no one mentioned Chicago has been throwing him on a line with his girlfriend Hossa which is where he generated the majority of his playoff points. Jesus, can't believe we're back to talking about this clown...especially after he did NOTHING for the Wings EVER.

#1966333 Todd, Big Bad, Bertuzzi!

don't you think he took retribution a step too far? he ended moore's playing career. i'd imagine you guys might have a different view of the guy if he wasn't playing on your team.

Dany Heatley killed someone and admitted to drinking beforehand, and still only got 3 years probation. I'd imagine you might have a different view of the guy if he wasn't playing on your team.
