#2384874 GDT 4/15: Red Wings 3 @ Predators 0

Kindl is definitely having one of his off games in the defensive zone.

Just an average night for him

No one is as all-around skilled as Datsyuk...

#2230430 Kessel 2nd Best Player in NHL?

Any Best NHL Player list without Datsyuk at #1 is incorrect.

This... When Crosby can defend on an elite level and regularly knock bigger guys on their ass... maybe we'll talk...

Ummm you're an idiot.

1st minus is because of Emmerton's giveaway and Conk's terrible goaltending.

2nd minus was started by an ordinary clear attempt by Kindl, but Conk's goaltending was again terrible.

These are the first goals he's been on the ice against all season you idiot.

He'll never catch on for the long run... just like you...  NHL'ers don't clear pucks like that

Kindl is such a minor leaguer... lets face it...

#2213810 How long before headshots are embellished by garbage players?

Clean hit, definitely embellished....

#2094545 Stuart out 6-8 weeks with broken jaw

Posted by dicksmack on 09 January 2011 - 11:28 AM

Kostopoulos is too chicken to show up for an in person hearing, because he knows he was dead wrong and has no defense, here.  I hope he's gets 20 games.

While I agree with Titanium that it's TV and all about ratings, etc., TV is a great place to display one's biases and ignorance.  Milbury is a total moron.  If ANY other player on ANY other team was injured like Stu was by a puke like Kostopoulos, there would be severe consequences. The other guys bring up the mild concussion to "the best player on the planet"   as if that's comparable to what happened to Stu.  Whatever.

As the other participants pointed out, there is no contrasting viewpoint. The rules are very clear, and video doesn't lie.

But, oh, well. Since it's just a Red Wing who was hit blindside with an elbow, head-shot resulting in a broken jaw, Kostopoulos is the best tough guy since Vladdy?   <_<

Did you see Stu's reaction when he was headed down to the locker room. He was so pissed.  I would be, too.  Get better soon, Stu.

You can tell Milbury does not like the Wings one bit.    BTW, Datsyuk doesn't have a mild concussion, he broke his wrist.   Had the Wings not been on back to back games, perhaps Babcock would have bag skated the guys on the ice who didn't respond to the hit (I would hope so),

#2093489 Stuart out 6-8 weeks with broken jaw

Posted by dicksmack on 08 January 2011 - 11:30 AM

The NHL is cool. They are all over hooking calls 200 feet from the play, but can't even correctly call an intentional headshot that results in an injury. There better be a lengthy suspension for this, yet somehow I doubt it.

Stuart is so damn reliable back there. More minutes now for Lidstrom and Rafalski, which isn't ideal as we need them both as fresh as possible for the playoffs. These past two seasons have been a disaster.

Also, who cares if we have an enforcer there? Stuart is still out with an injury so I don't feel any better if someone beats the s*** out of Kostopoulis AFTER the fact.

You don't need an enforcer to stick up for your teammates.   I realize that Stuart put himself in a vulnerable position by taking like 3 swats at a floating puck ( Lidstrom he aint) but that hit was vicious and an example of the kind of thing that the NHL says they are trying to eliminate from the game.   Hockey is a sport where very serious injuries can occur when players take advantage of each other like this and you need to stick together as a team and protect your guys.

If you are a team like the Canucks, or any other division leader, just injure the Wings' players, they won't anything do but wave their finger at you!

I can't believe nobody on the wings flattened the guy who did this to Stuart--pretty sad...pussified wings

Sounds encouraging to have two well regarded prospects at the WJC-- go JKROK (KNow what I'm sayin?)

#2086784 Pierre McGuire at his best.

Posted by dicksmack on 29 December 2010 - 09:10 PM

Ha Ha nice rip on Pierre.  The thing I can't stand about him is exactly this kind of homer-logic.   It's so obvious when people will throw up any piece of s*** reason to justify their emotional stance on an issue.

#2076615 Tootoo's HUGE hit

Posted by dicksmack on 12 December 2010 - 11:09 AM

What a hit! I never understood all the Tootoo hate.  He's the kind of guy you'd love to have on his team, he's actually a pretty interesting guy.

I don't understand your poor grasp of douchebaggery...

But yeah, clean hit for once...

#2076597 Do Maple Leaf fans deserve better?

Posted by dicksmack on 12 December 2010 - 09:29 AM

As long as we have Bettman and his Communist cap, we will continue to see big market supported franchises suffer for long periods of time.  I don't understand why we have to destroy big markets to fund empty arenas etc and all the other excuses.  A luxury tax that was suggested here on LGW before was the best idea ever, would have hurt noone and helped some of the smaller, but more durable in terms of longevity teams.

I shudder to think of the amazing dynasties over the years and great competitive teams that didnt always win cups, that never would have happened with the cap, eg Detroit, Montreal, NYI, Edmonton etc.  Those things sell the game.  People who love the big guys go to see the stars, people who hate them come to see if their team can beat them.  This forced assimilation is BS.  Look what the cap has done to Chicago.  They shouldnt have had to lose players from their cup team... how can you keep a team together and the fans feel like family anymore.  (and all the cap supporters crying about buying a cup in the past...REALLY?  If that were the case, the Leafs ironically would have won plenty of times in the last 20 years, and the Rangers more than once, etc etc)

I don't like Toronto, but I feel horrible for them, and it's unfair, and I don't see them making the playoffs anytime soon.  I feel bad for their fans

You can't be serious.       The salary cap has nothing to do with the decades of poor drafting and management in Toronto and the seeming disregard for a fan base that will gobble up the garbage on their plates, belch, and beg for more.   Toronto fans deserve what they get because they are too busy pointing their jealous fingers at teams like the Wings and saying absurd things like "the wings buy their cups," instead of asking questions about their own organization and demanding changes be made and voting with their feet if they aren't satisfied.  But they seem perfectly content to wallow and swallow so f***'em.
