#2321582 Holland losing his moxie? Is Detroit slipping as UFA destination?

Posted by pondrocket on 24 July 2012 - 04:40 PM

While Pav, Hank & Kronner are great, Detroit simply does not have the collection of skilled assets that other players drool over playing with. The cap has made it difficult, but Kenny's philosophy has made it tougher. He has waited three years too long to address his team's needs. Now we are almost the new Calgary Flames.

I hope Jimmy D & Mr. I don't take three years to address the GM issies.

Cool! Glad to know that. Pinckney boy does good. Maybe he misses Cap'n Frosty???

Betcha Holland is putting together his best pitch for Shane Doan...... It would be an excellent recovery step. 4 years avg 5.75 cap hit.

what if we sign malkin next year?

Put down the muggles, Malkin is going nowhere. Crosby is a hit away from pissing his pants every time the microwave is on.

#2315918 Has the Detroit diamond lost it's shine?

As has always been true with the Red Wings, the support for this team is a mile wide and an inch thick, now that the decline has begun, the bandwagon is is getting a whole lot lighter.

I see your point, but I don't see it that way. I see a fan base concerned, maybe angry & maybe a little anxious. I think it reveals connection to the organization & the sport. You never hear from the customers that just stop paying attention. Also, the offseason is yet anotyer season within the game. I love this part of the season.

I have disagreed with KH over the last three years, for sure. I still love & follow the wings & I will long after Kenny is managing Disney on ice.

Give Holland his due!

On one hand he did what he could & made a responsible pitch to the right guy.

On the other hand the Red Wings are not as attractive to players as they used to be IN LARGE PART because he FAILED to begin reshaping the team three YEARS ago; & that IS his fault & is the beginning of the end for him and his reputation as a premier GM.

Now, lets see if he can compensate and begin to repair HIS mistakes in a meaningful way.

#2313103 Parise Watch [update x2]: Red Wings OUT of Running

Posted by pondrocket on 02 July 2012 - 04:57 PM

Time to move on from Parise. July has been coming all along. He has had plenty of time to consider where whe wants to go even before July 1. At the prices being discussed for him I would move on and beat the rush to get the best available forwards. It will be even more important if we don't land Sutter. I realize these are kids, but it's a little pathetic. It would be different if they didn't have months or weeks to consider what has the most value for themselves.

#2311450 Predictions on where players will land

Posted by pondrocket on 30 June 2012 - 03:47 PM

This is Christmas Eve for me. Here is where we truly see if Holland has it or if he has jumped the shark! I am hopeful!

What about Draper as the new assistant coach??
Parise - Pens
Suter - Detroit
Semin - Detroit
Schultz - Edmonton
Whiteny - Carolina
Jagr - Detroit
Doan - Phoenix
Carle - Anaheim or Detroit if Holland fails to get Sutter
Hudler - Senators
Brodeur - New Jersey
Ryan Smyth - Edmonton
Kostitsyn - Minnesota
Prust - Detroit
Gaustad - Buffalo
Penner - Los Angeles
Tootoo - Ottawa
Samuelson -Det (Holland can't help himself)

#2293274 Detroit-Nashville: Babcock is loosing coach battle

Posted by pondrocket on 20 April 2012 - 10:12 AM

Buddy, re-post this when the Wings are officially out, which hopefully isn't for awhile.

I hope you're from abroad too, because your spelling sucks. Brush that up before you come back around with a "This season sucked, we're done" style contribution.

Fingers crossed for game 5.

Hey Buddy~ I am here for content, and his content is spot on! If you are looking for spelling & grammar there are plenty of places you can find it. BTW the season was over at the trade deadline.

#2292259 How do we fix this?

Posted by pondrocket on 18 April 2012 - 02:06 PM

agree with everything you said...except...i think that quincey should be let go too. guy is a bottom pairing defenseman that earns almost 4 mil a season.

We could loose him & E. Does anybody know how much Allen in Carolina makes? Would prefer him to both Quincy & E.

#2284259 Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"

I don't understand how people are angrier at Webber then they are at the Red Wings lack of response. I sure am glad I got to watch hockey when it was good! Get some of the classics kids, or take up Lacrosse.

#2284242 Shea Weber fined for Zetterberg "headslam"

Posted by pondrocket on 13 April 2012 - 09:37 AM

Sure am glad we have 90% ******* on this team. They didn't care when Malkin swung a stick at Z, they didn't care when Datsyuk had to fight for himself, or Howard, but Holland loves this team... f*** HIM

Completely agree! There Hank knelt, collecting himself, ALONE! Nobody around, nobody addressing this. Again you are right. This is a Holland team. Jimmmy D needs to address this. This is absolute BS! The wings can't impact the league, they can't control what the Preds do, but they sure can control what they do. They did NOTHING. They should all be embarrassed! I am for them. This is Detroit, & this is hockey. Lift up your skirt Holland!

And there Hank knelt to collect himself. Alone! This is a Kenny team. Sorry it is hockey. Webber should have been picking himself up off the ice. We don't have that dimension. That's part of why my favorite team will be golfing in 5.
