Yes...yes I would. The lack of consistency needs to be address in the top 6. Z and D are not gonna be moved... so might as well supply them with wingers that can play with some effort and consistency. Be it the replacements are our own young players or they came via a trade.

 

Flip, Mule, Bert, and Sammy (even though he didn't play much this season) are all expendable.

I understand the Wings like the puck possession style, but we need to start being simple when clearing the zone. Just flip it out and stop trying to skate it out with Hawk players hounding the puck carrier.

 

More traffic in front the net would help as well. There are some juicy rebounds to be had.

I wasn't expecting Helm to come back till next season anyway. Back injuries are no joke, take your time Helm, see you next year.

We really need this win tonight. Sitting in the 7th spot with St. Louis having 1 point less than us and playing two games less..OUCH!!! Not to mention teams 9-12 have a damn good chance to catch up to us.

A very streaky player like Hudler can leave. If he is scoring then he is helping out if he ain't scoring he is a waste of space. No speed, no defensive play, lack of strength/size, poor work ethic, etc. His streaky play is part of the problem not part of the solution.

I would sign Doan to a one year deal and overpay him. We have the cap space to overpay him for a year and still have space to get other long term needs in as well. He might be getting up there in age but he is exactly what the wings need come playoff time.

Looking at the way he skates I'm not surprised at all that he had a concussion. At the start of the video watching him skate with his head down I immediately thought this guy will get killed in a NHL game. Dude is going to be asking for it if he continues to skate with his head down and hunched over like that.

Nice hit...nice to see nobody go after Kronwall after he delivers a clean hit...if that were the NHL, the entire opposition line would be trying to fight Kronwall.  Like a clean hit has to be defended. What did kesler say earlier this year, if he is gonna hit like that he is gonna have to answer for it...why? Clean hit is a clean hit....jackass traitor!

Meh, remember the Philly game this past year. After a Kronwall hit it was the Wings who got scared when Philly didn't back down and came back at the Wings. Detroit looked like a bunch of sissies that day.
