Jagr 39 > Hudler (in his prime ... if he ever does get a prime)

#2178963 Very Sad To See

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 24 May 2011 - 08:54 AM

It's very sad to see that some Red Wings players will eventually retire.

* Rafalski - Retired
* Lidstrom - Last Year / Retiring
* Holmstrom - Last Year?
* Kris Draper - Last Year
* Ozzie - ???

I know Modano is retiring too but in my heart his not a real Red Wing.

Worst part is that all of the above players are probably the key components for our stanley cup success.

I'm really going to miss all of them.

#2052783 I keep having this reoccurring nightmare...

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 26 October 2010 - 08:13 AM

Your not the only one dreaming of this, I was having this dreams also then I actually realized that Turco is there goalie.

Every dream about the Hawks repeating just choked after that.

#2044942 Kirk Maltby to announce he is retiring

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 12 October 2010 - 06:28 PM

Good to see he retired rather then playing with the Griffins, even tho he could helped out.

This guy was a very important key of the success of this franchise. He played a crucial role, shutting down the opposing top lines.

Shame on all those fans that are being negative about this situation. The reason he signed the contract was to compete for a roster spot, didn't work out but we can never blame the guy for trying.

Hope all the best in the near future Maltbs, maybe he could now join us on LGW and discuss hockey.

#2044093 Filppula

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 11 October 2010 - 12:38 AM

IMO for the past years we've watched Filppula, this is probably the only year that I see fire in him. I feel like he just wants to take control of the team and be the best player on this team.

His matured and seems to me he will have his best season thus far, I'm loving the intensity level his at right now.

Please Kenny pass on this one.

#2016667 Sergei Federov

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 19 July 2010 - 07:02 AM

As we all know when Federov left his game went to the decline and by looking his stats his defensive game has dropped with having all +/- below 0 for his last seasons.

I was wondering tho, do you guys think that Federov's career would of ended better if he had indeed sticked with the Wings or it would of had been the same, production drop?

#2015527 Osgood may retire following this season

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 15 July 2010 - 07:09 PM

I for one would like to see Osgood stick around for 1 or 2 more seasons as backup, enough time for McCollum to groom in the AHL. At this point I'd probably keep Ozzie as the backup over anyone in the league.

It's good for him too, instead of staying home he can get a pay :).

#2015522 Mikko Koivu stays with Wild

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 15 July 2010 - 07:07 PM

Minnesota = Fail ... what a waste of money 7 million is way too much, would of been better spent if they had let Koivu walk and grab Kovalchuk at least the guy can score 50.

#2013758 Red Wings Making Play for Modano

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 11 July 2010 - 09:09 AM

I would love for Modanno but if he doesn't join us I really wouldn't care. The only person that will be the loser here is Modanno.

Modanno signing was probably for marketing reasons more then anything.

As I stated if Modano decides to go else where well too bad for him because it's his only chance to play with one of the greatest franchises in the NHL. His loss not ours we have tons of kids willing to center the 3rd line.

#2010459 Kovalchuk may be staying in NJ

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 05 July 2010 - 02:48 PM

Here's what most people aren't realizing is that Brodeur is eventually going to hang up the skates and when the time does in fact come, the Devils will officially be Dead-ils considering if they stay with the system they have in place which is defense first. I have a major feeling that organization has realized that after Brodeur's retirement this team will need to start scoring and not rely on there goalie as much as they do now. So having Kovalchuk back will guarantee them with a 40-50 goal scorer which is a very good thing to have on your team.

As much as people want to say that Defense can make a goalie better and all, I agree but you also need to score to win games no matter how many saves your goalie does if you don't score you just don't win.

#2005044 1st Round Pick (21), Riley Sheahan

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 26 June 2010 - 12:08 AM

Bob McKenzie: University of Notre Dame forward Riley Sheahan (pronounced Shay-en) had to explain himself at the NHL Scouting Combine for a minor off-ice episode involving underage drinking, but NHL scouts are more interested to find out what his offensive upside is, though that’s not easy to tell when you play in the defence-first system of the Fighting Irish. Sheahan was perceived as a big, skilled point producer in junior before college and scouts are trying to rationalize meager offensive numbers as a CCHA freshman.

#2004280 Savard to waive no trade clause

Posted by KrazyGangsta on 24 June 2010 - 09:18 PM

Two young roster players for a 32 year old player with injury issues?

Ericsson won't be what everyone think he will be and 32 year old is not that bad, you can get a good 5 years out of him.

Trade Filppula + Ericcson for Savard.
