#2534309 Holland signs 4 year extension with wings **MOD Warning Post 130**

Posted by RusDRW on 15 August 2014 - 11:01 AM

there is good thing about Kenny. With him we always made the play-offs. Imagine being a fan of let's say Calgary or Ottawa or... well even Chicago and LA sucked for most years I'm watching hockey (since 94). We never really sucked in my life and were always a couple of players away from the SC. I prefer this rather than waiting for the good years of Bennet, Monahan or RNH and Draisatl or... and the list goes on.

PS One more example a bit more illustrative than Calgary and Edmonton. Would you like to be a fan of San Jose now? At least we are retooling with Anastasou, Nastasiuk, Nylen, Mantha, Oulette, Sproul, Marchenko Backman, Jensen, Pulkkinen, Mrazek in the minors. They have like two prospects, aging Thornton, Marleau and they have never been even close to winning the SC.

March 26. Are there any doubts?

#2533096 Which Players Agency would you choose and why ?

who are Brassard (5x5) and Pouliot (4x5) agents? That agency is definitely the best.

#2531462 Wings re-sign Cleary $1.5 mill + $1mill in game bonuses

this is just absurd. I don't even want to comment on this.

#2529266 Quincey re-signed by DET. 2 yr s $4.25 mill AAV

Posted by RusDRW on 02 July 2014 - 12:38 AM

I'm not mad at KH not signing one year wonders like Niskanen or aging guys like Boyle. We don't need them in fact and could have regretted these deal.

I'm not mad at KH for signing Quickey. He is top 4.

I'm mad at filling the roster with Kindls and Lashoffs and not being able to trade them for something meaningful. Play our youngsters on the D, Sproul, Oulette, Backman, Marchenko.

Then who is going to play?  Are they going to ice 1 line?

Vanek-Parise-Koivu

Suter-Niskanen

Vanek(6.5)-Parise(7.5)-Koivu(6.75)

Suter(7.5)-Niskanen(? 7.0)

~35.35M

what what the reason for those lockouts?

#2526496 Dylan Larkin - Highest draft pick since 1991

All scouting reports about Larkin remind me of another phenom we got in the first round - Cory Emmerton.

#2521583 Emmerton-ov: Cory heading to KHL

This was my first thought.

Emпес?

The simplest correct way would be Emdogov (Эмдогов) :) Sounds very strange in russian though.

what do you guys think about trading Kindl for Engellang's right to Pens? We are getting rid of a clown and may sign a n ok 6-7 guy with a lot of toughness.

class doesn't sell tickets in the modern world.

#2515941 Grand Rapids Griffins - defend the cup

Posted by RusDRW on 26 April 2014 - 04:46 AM

Backman, Sproul, Almquist, Jensen, Oulette, Marchenko... Can we play any combination of these guys instead of Kindl and Lashoff?

#2515715 ECQF - Game 4 - Bruins 3 at Red Wings 2 (F/OT)

Posted by RusDRW on 25 April 2014 - 07:19 AM

I can't believe some people are crying to fire Babcock... the best coach in hockey.  Unreal.  Seriously people, take off the homer glasses here, think clearly and realistically.  This team that we have, has no chance against Boston.  Not because of coaching, because of talent.  Boston is stronger, bigger, more talented in every area.  From net, to defensemen, to their forwards.  Add in the fact that Datsyuk clearly is struggling with his injury still, and Zetterberg as well, then combine the fact that the rest of the roster is full of guys who played in the AHL last year, and you should easily be able to see what the problem is here.  It's not the coach.  It's an inexperienced roster, filled with injuries up against the team that is probably going to win the cup.

Lets be serious here rather than trying to point the blame at Babcock, or even Holland for that matter... If it wasnt for all these kids currently playing on the Wings that were drafted... we wouldn't even be in the damn playoffs today.  The fact that we even are is a miracle on its own the way this season went, without a guy like Babcock behind the bench steering those kids adn getting the best out of them down the stretch, you could shoot a cannon through this forum right now it would be so empty.

Thanks for your post. I really hope those calling for Babcock's head will read it.

I would go even a bit further saying that with the roster we have we play fairly good against one the best teams in the NHL.

Mitch Callahan would have addressed both problems. Scorer + agitator/

#2495063 Red Wings have Recalled Pulkkinen from Grand Rapids

Posted by RusDRW on 14 March 2014 - 01:04 AM

I cannot really remember the last time we scored using the slapshot just after entering the O zone. And I also remember those good old times when Lapoint, Shanahan, Yzerman, Fedorov, McCarty were doing it.

#2494273 Evgeny Kuznetsov

Posted by RusDRW on 11 March 2014 - 03:36 PM

If they are going to give him 4th line minutes they are not getting the best of Kuzia. He is the best when he is a real part of the team. Knowing Oates, Kuznetsov will be available for the right price soon. I would trade Mantha+ for him.

PS I followed his career closely. When something goes wrong, when game is on the line, when you are loosing the most important game of the season you put Kuznetsov on the ice. He usually find a way to score.
